In this practice, we tap in to our inner source of power - the flame of the heart - and contemplate the resting potential within us. This practice is fabulous if you usually have trouble focusing in your meditations - the candle makes it much easier to focus & get a deeper experience. I would recommend this meditation with headphones - and be sure you have a lit candle nearby to practice with.

So starting here in your seated position,

Starting to sit up nice and tall.

Beginning to gently relax the edges of your body.

Letting your skin soften off the bones.

Noticing where there might be some stiffness.

And starting to send your breath there.

Let your inhales clean out wherever you feel that sense of stiffness.

Let the exhale release it all.

Letting the eyes close if they're not already.

Continuing to soften here.

Bringing some awareness into your breath.

The depth of the inhales deep in the base of your belly.

Noticing the natural rhythm of your breath.

Maybe starting to become aware of the sounds around you.

Being aware of my voice guiding you.

Bringing some awareness to the sensation of the clothing on your skin.

The sensation of your body on the floor.

Keeping a very relaxed concentration on these things.

Just letting the awareness come to you.

You need to reach your grip for it.

Finally becoming aware of your thoughts here.

Letting them pass as they come.

Always bringing your awareness back to the anchor of your breath.

Back to the present moment.

Knowing that no meditation is ever a failure.

You can just bring your awareness back to your focal point.

Let's take one more big full breath here.

As you're ready you can softly open your eyes.

Bring them to rest on the candle flame in front of you.

Relax your eyes onto the flame.

Watch it flicker.

Watch it dance.

See it alive with life and light.

Again a rested awareness here.

Relax behind your eyes.

Anywhere where tension might have crept back in.

Allow your flame to be your focal point of concentration here.

Begin to contemplate here the energetic potential of the flame.

Maybe feeling into this resting power of fire.

The fire energy.

Maybe beginning to draw some of that energy into your breath.

As you exhale pull the belly button back towards the spine.

Feeling that strength,

That compression.

Now let's softly close the eyes again.

Maybe seeing the imprint of the flame on the back of your eyelids.

Bringing your awareness here into your third eye chakra.

Right between the brows.

Maybe bringing with your mind's eye that image of the burning flame into this third eye chakra.

Maybe you can even sense the flickering lights of the candle just outside of your closed eyelids.

Feel that innate power.

That burning light of potential.

Transferring from the flame and into your third eye chakra.

Know that this incredible and irrevocable power,

Potential for creation also exists within each and every one of you.

Guiding your awareness finally into the heart space.

Feeling the flame arrive at the base of your heart.

Burning with strength,

With passion,

With love.

Giving yourself permission here to step into your full energetic power.

Give yourself permission to create what you wish to see in this world.

Give yourself permission to create a life that sets your heart on fire.

As you're ready,

Bring your palms together,

Hands to heart center,

Anjale Mudra.

Maybe feeling the thumbs press back against the chest.

Maybe even feeling a bit of that fire of the heart.

Honoring this practice.

Honoring yourself,

Your dreams,

Your desires.

Honoring each other.

Honoring our ability to take this fire,

Go out into the world with intention,

Passion,

And creation.

Release your hands back down into your lap.

Come back into your breath.

Come back into your body.

As you're ready,

You can softly begin to open your eyes.

Namaste.
