Hello friend,

Welcome to this easy sleep meditation.

You can use this guided meditation as a midday nap or to help ease you to sleep.

If you choose to use this as a nap,

You might want to set a gentle alarm to make sure you wake up.

Get yourself comfortable in whatever position is most comfortable for you.

After you've settled and won't be disturbed,

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in and stretch out your limbs and allow yourself to let out a big yawn.

Even if it's fake,

Your body will follow.

Settling in,

Letting out your last movements of your body,

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

On your breath out,

Let out a big sigh.

You may have thoughts swirling through your mind still,

Which is totally okay.

Let them,

See them,

Notice them,

And then let them go.

See them floating up into the sky with the clouds.

Bring your awareness to the surface holding you.

Feel the connection of your body to that surface.

Feel the weight of your body on the surface.

Feel how it's holding you and supporting you.

In moments of anxiety or feeling unsafe,

This awareness helps you to feel more supported,

Which will instinctively reduce your anxiety.

Now let's come back to your breath again.

Breathing in through your nose and out through your nose.

Don't force anything.

Just allow yourself to breathe exactly how you breathe naturally.

Your body,

Your temple,

Is a miraculous thing.

Your body knows what to do when you give it space and a little time to relax.

In this moment,

You have nowhere to be and nothing to do.

Sometimes doing nothing is hard for our bodies because our minds continue to do its job,

Which is to think.

Don't try to stop it.

Let it do what it's meant to do.

It's completely normal.

When you feel your mind wandering,

Just come back to your breath.

In your mind's eye,

Do a quick body scan and notice if any areas are tense or any areas that you're holding on to.

When you find that area,

Guide your awareness there.

Take a deep breath in,

Visualizing the breath going into that area.

And on your breath out,

See all your muscles release and sink deeper into the surface you lie on.

Spend some time here on your own,

Scanning the rest of your body.

Notice how you're feeling now that you've spent some time giving your mind and body the space to relax.

Just observe like you're looking at yourself from outside of yourself.

Sometimes we just have to let go and surrender.

Just like in our personal lives,

There's many things that we cannot control,

Which we end up resisting.

It's our survival instincts out of fear of what might happen.

Take this observation into different parts of your life.

If you feel like you're resisting,

Pause.

Ask yourself,

Is this something that I can control?

If the answer is no,

Then it's not for you to push against.

Just let it go.

Surrender.

If you're still awake,

Take a deep breath in and let go softly.

Letting go.

Surrendering.

Just being.

In through your nose and out through your nose.

Drifting off effortlessly.

Listening to the relaxing sounds of music in the background.

I will now leave you to continue on your own.

Rest easy,

My friend.
