Welcome to your space,
A collection of many meditations that I am offering you.
I am Sami,
The Temple Yoga of Perth.
My hope for you is that through this time you will find that your mind,
Your body,
Your heart,
Your spirit can come back into alignment.
That is true happiness.
As you find a relaxing,
Easy posture,
Whether that's lying down or sitting up,
Just allow yourself to soften your edges,
To let go of any tension you are carrying with you that might be in your face,
Your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your arms,
Your legs,
Your feet,
Or maybe your shoulders.
Just give them a shrug and let it go.
We will continue to explore the theme of light and letting light in.
Remembering that at the center of your being is pure light.
You are light.
You are love.
You are joy.
You are radiant.
Sometimes we do allow things to clutter and cloud and dim that.
It can be hard sometimes for us to return to it and find it.
But that is a beautiful thing.
Often in yoga and in spiritual references you'll see pictures of the lotus flower.
The lotus flower is a powerful lesson in this as it has its roots in the mud and it rises up through the water.
It emerges through the sunlight and it blossoms and grows pedal by pedal,
Opening up,
Seeking the sunlight.
Despite its roots in the muck,
In the mud,
Becomes a beautiful flower.
I want to remind you no matter your origins or the things that life has thrown at you,
You can overcome those obstacles on the journey towards the light.
So there may be times we feel that clouding,
The clutter,
We don't feel close to our light anymore.
But trust that it's unfolding.
So just because we feel the mud,
Just because we can't see the light clearly,
Doesn't mean we aren't growing towards it.
It doesn't mean you aren't unfolding,
That your path is wrong.
Know and trust that you can grow through that and despite that you can grow into a beautiful blossoming flower like the lotus.
So as we turn inward today,
We're going to bring our focus to our heart space.
You may like to place your hands in your heart space as we breathe.
We are going to take a round of three long steady breaths,
Counting in for four,
Out for four.
And as we breathe,
We're going to breathe into our hands in our heart space.
If you like chest rise,
Belly rise,
Belly full,
Chest full.
Let's breathe in for four,
Three,
Two,
One and exhale.
In breath,
Exhale.
Last breath in and out.
Keeping your eyes lowered,
Your attention inward into your heart space.
Just visualise that lotus flower with its roots in the mud.
The petals are closed.
It's growing up through the water.
With each breath in this round that we take,
Picture each petal gently unfolding as it faces up towards the light,
Growing and opening with each breath.
Let's begin.
And out.
And inhale.
And release.
In breath,
Visualising the petals gently opening,
Reaching up towards the light and exhale.
Inhale and out.
Inhale and out.
Inhaling reaching up towards the light,
Allowing the beauty to unfold,
Trusting in its journey,
Stretching up through the mud and the water to the light.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Two more breaths into the palm of your hands that might be on your chest,
Seeing this full opening blossoming lotus flower with the light shining directly on it,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Last full steady breath.
Inhale and out.
Know that where there's shadows,
There is light.
There is darkness,
There is the light.
Despite the mud,
The lotus flower can grow and blossom and unfold through it.
So regardless of your origins or the obstacles or the challenges that life has thrown at you,
Know that as you acknowledge your roots through all of that,
You can still unfold and reach your potential,
Stretch forward towards the light.
You can blossom.
You can be fruitful.
You can be radiant.
So as you go about your day or as you go off to sleep,
Just carry that picture of your open heart like a beautiful lotus flower that has found its strength through its journey of unfolding through the mud and the difficulty to be open,
Bright,
Radiant,
Blossoming.
Right?
