Hi,

Thanks for joining me.

I'm Sami from Temple Yoga Perth.

Welcome to your space.

This meditation is your chance to pause,

To breathe,

To care for yourself.

My hope throughout time is that you can unwind,

Connect to your mind,

Body,

Heart and spirit,

Bringing yourself back into alignment.

It is so good to have you here.

Well done on investing the time for your self-care.

Time is such a valuable commodity.

We often feel like our time is stretched really thin,

Like there is a lot of competing tasks,

Things pulling us this way and that way and that we don't have enough of it.

Choosing to invest your time to turn towards yourself is so important.

Resting,

Connecting to your peace and restoring your sense of well-being helps you to be a more conscious,

Aware,

Loving and kind person.

That means you're helping yourself to be a better human.

This shifts how you see the world and how you experience your circumstances and your life.

This means that you're a better human and everyone that you meet and that comes across your path will benefit.

What a worthy investment you are.

I invite you now to take a comfortable posture,

Just make any adjustments that you need to,

To make you feel more at ease.

Now just try to soften your face and your jaw and if you're able to just close your eyes,

Turning your focus inwards.

Now you become more aware of this moment and be here and now.

Sometimes our thoughts are the past replaying,

Revisiting circumstances,

Conversations,

Things that have taken place and it takes us away from being here and now.

And often our thoughts and our minds are in the future.

Planning,

Hoping and dreaming are all really important but sometimes we worry and we assume,

We end up investing our energy in things that have not yet happened.

So this skill of sitting with ourselves and being present here and now is incredibly valuable.

We can press pause on those stories replaying of the past and we can pull back from assuming and worrying into the future.

So now as you turn inward,

You're aware of the sensations in your body.

You're aware of the thoughts that come up and arise and you are being brave to be able to hold this space to observe your experience now and to acknowledge what is arising and how it feels for what it really is right now for you.

You are listening,

You are observing,

You are being present,

Holding this space of curiosity of love and kindness and you are being here for yourself.

Now you bring your awareness to your breath.

You can feel the air easily flowing in and out through your nose,

Your lips are gently sealed,

You're aware of the sensation of your inhale.

What does it feel like the temperature?

And now you're aware of your exhale as you release and let go.

Breathing is one of the only systems in our body that is both conscious and unconscious.

This amazing system happens to keep you alive inviting air in to energize and bring life to every cell in your body and now as we bring our mind to our breath,

We are aware and it brings our consciousness to a single point,

Just one point of focus and this is meditation.

We're going to take some conscious breaths together,

We will elongate our breath and take what is called in pranayama a kumbhaka,

A hold or a lock.

We do this because breathing changes our state.

That is so powerful.

Often we cannot change our circumstances or situations and there are many things out of our control but we can change our state of being and we can be better positioned to hold this space for ourselves.

So let's invite this first inhale breathing in for four,

Three,

Two,

One and hold.

Releasing exhale for four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Breathing in,

Two,

One,

Hold.

And exhale for three,

Two,

One.

Inhale.

Hold.

Letting go,

Exhaling with ease,

No forcing,

Just ease.

Breathing in last round and hold.

Exhaling.

Now just observe what is it like in your body.

Bringing your breath to a natural state,

Breathing in for two,

Out for two.

Focus on any ease and lightness that you can feel in your body.

Know that you have connected to your peace that is inside of you and you can return to this anytime you need to.

Please remember that meditation is a practice and there is no right or wrong and every time that you sit down to meditate you will be different so your meditation experience and practice will also be different.

Well done on investing time to be present here and now.

Before you move on with your day just acknowledge yourself for investing this time.

Thank you for allowing me to guide you and I look forward to seeing you back here soon.
