Transcript

Come to rest on your back,

Lying down on your mat or in your bed,

And ensure that you have a pillow to support the weight of your head.

Cover yourself with a blanket to feel safe and secure and to hold you in warmth.

Now taking the position of Shavasana,

Feel your head and spine energetically align.

Allow your legs to relax and your feet fall softly to the sides.

Your hands rest at the height of your hips,

Palms facing up.

You can even press into the back of your skull,

Lifting your chest,

Dropping your shoulder blades in and under,

Giving your heart a safe place to rest.

Now take this time to adjust your position in any way that you need to,

Any way that you need to.

Adjust your position so that you're able to settle into absolute stillness,

Quiet,

And rest.

Take the time now to adjust your position so that you are able to maintain stillness,

Quiet,

And rest for the duration of the practice.

Now in the space of stillness,

Move your awareness all the way down to the soles of your feet.

Your entire being shifts into the soles of your feet,

And allow the soles of your feet to release,

Relax,

Let go.

From the soles of your feet,

Move your awareness up through your ankles,

Into your calves and your shins,

Through your knees,

Into your hamstrings and your quads,

Your hips,

And the muscles of your bum,

Allowing the entire length of each leg to become heavy,

Soft,

Still.

The entire length of each leg from hip to the sole of the foot releases,

Relaxes,

And lets go.

And now move your awareness into the back line of the body.

From the muscles of the bum,

We travel up into the muscles of the low back,

Into the mid back,

The upper back and the shoulder blades,

Into the neck and the back of the skull.

Feel the entire back line of your body release,

Relax,

Let go.

Now move into the midline of the body,

Into the organ body.

Allow your awareness to begin at your root,

Moving into the organs of the reproductive system,

Up into the organs of the digestive tract,

Through the liver,

The spleen,

The kidneys and your adrenals,

Expanding into your lungs and your heart.

Feel all of these beautiful,

Vibrant,

Vital organs come to a natural state of rest and ease.

Now we move into the front line of the body.

Release,

Relax,

Let go through the muscles of your belly and up into your chest.

Then allow that sense of release to wash down over your shoulders,

Through your arms,

The palms of your hands and out your fingertips.

Then come back to the throat,

Softening the throat.

From our throat we move up into the muscles of the face.

Release,

Relax,

Let go through the jaw and allow that sense of heaviness and relaxation to flow from the jaw up into the muscles of the face,

Softening through your lips,

Up into the cheeks.

Allow all of those tiny muscles around your eyes to soften completely and then flow up,

Relaxing through the forehead,

Over and back through the scalp.

The entire face becomes soft.

The muscles of your face are so soft like silk draped over the bones of your skull.

And now allow your awareness to move inward into your eyes,

Allowing your eyeballs to sink and settle deeper into their sockets.

Then continue inward inside the skull now to the space of your brain,

Your mind.

And allow your mind to become just as heavy,

Just as still and quiet as the rest of the body.

You are safe.

You are held.

You are creation.

There is nowhere you need to be and there is nothing that you need to do.

Rest,

Relax,

Let go.

And now in this state of absolute stillness and quiet,

Begin to softly notice the breath.

There's no effort,

No analysis.

Simply rest yourself in the steady flow of the inhale and the exhale.

Rest in the breath.

Inhale exhale.

And now in the stillness of your body and the steadiness of your breath,

Begin to feel or sense or imagine yourself resting against the earth.

Beautiful space in nature and your body rests safe and held against the earth.

And you can feel or see or sense your body sinking into the warm embrace of the earth soil.

You sink in so heavy,

You release so fully that you create a mold or an imprint specific to your exact bone structure.

Surrender yourself,

Rest heavy into this mold.

Release,

Relax,

Let go.

And now become aware of sound.

Again,

No effort,

No analysis.

Simply begin to receive sound.

Expand your listening to the most distant sound you can hear.

And you notice the most distant sound,

You receive it like waves washing up on a beach.

The wave of sound washes up on your awareness.

And just as easily it recedes and is replaced by the next wave of sound.

Hold awareness,

No effort,

No analysis.

Simply hold awareness of sound.

And now gather your hearing in.

Pull your sense of hearing in close inside the room.

And again,

No effort,

No analysis or judgment.

Simply receive each wave of sound from within the room.

And now pull your hearing in,

Gather your hearing in as intimately as you can right inside the vessel of your own body.

Believe the sound of your own breath,

The pulse and hum of energy within your vessel and the steady song of your own heartbeat.

Stay with the sounds within your own being.

Now the practice of nija journey becomes truly transformational when we incorporate a resolve called sankalpa.

A sankalpa is an authentic desire that comes in the form of a positive,

Short,

Concise statement stated in the most powerful languaging available to us.

I am.

Your sankalpa can be any quality or truth that you wish to awaken in your own reality.

It is a strong will,

A determination,

A directional guiding force for growth along positive lines in your waking reality.

And oftentimes our sankalpa comes from direct communication with our heart center.

In this I am statement,

This sankalpa is dropped into the quiet,

Steady stillness of the body and the subconscious layer.

It is able to take root and begin creating your desire through action,

Through speech and through attitude.

In this nija journey,

We will work collectively with the sankalpa.

I am grounded.

I am grounded.

And so now within the quietness of your being,

Mentally repeat this seed of change,

This sankalpa three times with courage,

With sincerity and with absolute faith.

I am grounded three times to yourself now.

We will now journey within the physical layer of the body.

As I guide you with each body part that I mentioned,

Mentally repeat that body part,

Infuse that space with your entire presence and then see,

Sense or imagine that space filled and flowing with liquid golden honey light.

There is no movement of the physical body,

Only the rotation of your awareness and the flow of golden honey light.

Stay interested and present to the sound of my voice as we explore the physical body.

Move your awareness now into the right hand.

Right thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Pinky finger,

The palm of the right hand,

The back of the right hand,

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Left arm,

Arm pit,

The entire right side of the torso,

Right hip,

Upper leg,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

The top of the right foot,

The sole of the right foot,

Big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe,

Hold the entire right side of your body and strong awareness.

See,

Sense,

Imagine the entire right side of the body infused and flowing with golden honey light.

Now float your awareness to the left hand,

Left thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Pinky finger,

The palm of the left hand,

The back of the left hand,

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Arm pit,

The entire left side of the torso,

Left hip,

Upper leg,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

The top of the left foot,

The sole of the left foot,

Big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Hold the entire left side of your body and strong awareness.

Feel,

See,

Sense,

Imagine the entire left side of the body infused and flowing with golden honey light.

Now move your awareness to the soles of your feet.

Again there is no movement of the physical body,

Only the rotation of your awareness and the flow of rich honey light.

From the soles of both feet,

Travel up through the back of the heels,

The back of the ankles,

The calves,

The back of the knees into the hamstrings,

The buttocks,

Low back,

Upper back,

Right and left shoulder blades,

Whole spine,

Whole spine,

Back of the neck,

Back of the head,

Crown of the head.

Hold the entire back line of the body in your awareness.

See,

Sense,

Imagine the entire back line of the body flowing,

Infused with liquid honey light and now softly your awareness touches down at the forehead,

Right eyebrow,

Left eyebrow,

The space between the eyebrows,

Right eye,

Left eye,

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Right ear,

Left ear,

Right nostril,

Left nostril,

The tip of the nose,

Upper lip,

Lower lip,

Both lips together,

Chin,

The entire face,

Throat and now feel the entire body,

Whole body from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet,

From the front line through to the back line and the back line through to the front line and then the soles of the feet all the way back up to the crown.

Feel the whole body,

Whole body present and connected in one moment in time,

Whole body infused and flowing with rich golden honey light.

Now move your awareness inward,

Inside now to the center of your heart and as you breathe in,

Feel the heart space expand.

Breathing in,

The heart space expands and fills with rich emerald light.

Continue to breathe in and out through the heart center,

Expanding that center with rich emerald green light and on your next breath out,

Allow that rich emerald light,

That rich green energy to flow from the heart center out through your shoulders,

Your arms,

Down the palms of your hands and out your fingertips and again breathe in to the heart center,

Allow that rich emerald light and energy to expand and grow and on your next exhale,

Send that emerald energy down,

Washing over and through all of your internal organs,

Down through the hips and the entire length of each leg and out the soles of your feet.

One more time,

Come back to the heart center,

Breathing in and out,

Inhaling and exhaling and on your next exhale,

Send that rich green heart energy up through your throat,

Allow it to wash through the inside of the skull and out the crown of your head and now rest.

In this moment,

Your whole body is again present and connected,

Infused and glowing rich with emerald green heart energy.

Now come to the space just behind the closed eyes,

Bring your internal gaze to the space just behind your closed eyes,

Sink in and stay present as you begin to imagine yourself lying on a beach about to be covered in sand by a loved one.

At first your feet and your legs are gently covered with sand,

Then your torso and your arms all the way up to your neck.

Another layer of sand is poured on top and another and another and soon there is so much sand poured on top of you that you cannot move an inch.

You can breathe easily and you feel comforted,

Held by this incredible weight pressing you close to the earth.

You feel heaviness.

Notice this heaviness pressure as your body sinks deeper and heavier into the earth,

Held and comforted by the earth.

Feel heaviness.

Now you remove yourself from heaviness and see or sense or imagine yourself floating out amongst the stars.

You float free amongst the vast space of the universe.

There is no weight,

No density or mass or gravity to your body.

You float weightless,

Expansive and free amongst the stars.

Incredible lightness.

Sense lightness.

And now come back to the space just behind the closed eyes.

Prepare yourself into the space just behind the closed eyes.

Hold your attention here as we prepare for rapid visualization.

As I call off numerous images,

Allow your mind's eye to project these ideas onto the screen of your awareness.

Release any effort or expectation and simply allow for whatever comes up on your screen of awareness.

A snowflake.

A sunrise.

Sunset.

Busy city sidewalks.

The sound of a siren.

A bonfire.

A spiderweb.

A mushroom.

Dark starry night sky.

Roots.

Moss.

Mud.

A wolf.

An owl.

Rough tree bark.

The sound of a bird singing.

The sensation of soil between your fingertips.

Stillness.

Freedom.

Freedom.

Catch and align yourself with freedom.

Now you see on your screen of awareness,

Stretching out ahead of you a path in nature.

And you begin to move along this path.

And as you do,

You may notice the details of the path.

If it is rough or well worn.

It is winding or straight.

It is flat or steep.

There's no effort to simply continue to move along your path in nature.

And now you come around one last bend or maybe over one last hill.

And you arrive at your sacred space in nature.

Touched out ahead of you is your holy ground,

Your sacred space in nature.

And you step off of your path and you step into your sacred space.

And as you do so,

You move into the center point of this space.

And now using whatever natural materials are available to you,

Maybe rocks or moss,

Maybe sticks or seashells.

But using the natural materials that are available to you,

You outline a circle on the ground in your sacred space in nature.

And then you step inside this circle.

You call in your guides,

Your angels,

Your ancestors and your spirits.

You offer prayers of gratitude to all of the elements of nature.

And then you lay down against the earth inside this circle.

As you lay down inside this circle,

Pressing your flesh and your bones to the earth,

The earth she claims you.

She holds you close.

She turns your decay into nourishment and rich fertility.

Release yourself to the guidance and to the wisdom of the earth to hold you heal you and guide you.

Namah Swaphood you you you you you you you you you and you find yourself back in your sacred space in nature your body rests safe and secure against the earth you take a moment just to honor and witness all that you've received or been shown,

Released or healed.

And now you get up and you offer your prayers of gratitude to the earth,

To all of her plants and animals,

To her water,

To her stones,

And to the air.

And in this space,

This sacred space within your circle,

You plant the seed of your sankalpa.

I am grounded.

You plant this seed of truth into this sacred space and know without a shadow of a doubt that it is truth.

I am grounded three times to yourself now.

And now you step out of your circle and you return your sacred space in nature to the way that it was before you arrived.

You offer a prayer of gratitude and reverence to this space,

A space that is always within you,

That you can come to at any time.

And then you make your way back over to the path that brought you here.

You step out of your sacred space in nature and back onto your path.

And you once again begin to walk your path.

And this time as you walk your path,

You gradually move back into your own body.

The familiar form of your own body comes back into your experience.

And you can once again fully feel your hands,

Your legs,

Your head,

And your breath.

All of your senses that turned inward to help you travel and journey with spirit and energy.

Once again,

Resume an external focus,

Taking in bits of information.

You are aware of your breath.

You are aware of your body.

You are aware of the room you rest in.

Sound,

Temperature,

Taste,

The pressure of your blanket or your clothing all come back into your experience.

You are whole.

You are awake.

Welcome back.

Make soft,

Gentle movements with the body.

And as you come up to a seated position,

Allow your tailbone to sink heavy towards the earth.

The crown of your head expands towards the heavens.

And you feel yourself as this beautiful and potent space.

And you feel yourself as this beautiful and potent space between the two.

Offer to yourself a prayer of gratitude.

The practice of nidra journey is complete.

And so it is.
