Sometimes we have a general feeling of sadness,
Loneliness,
Maybe even hopelessness.
We could be overthinking things,
Not living in the present moment but rather dwelling on something that happened in the past or worried or concerned about what's next.
This meditation will focus on resting our minds,
Cleansing ourselves of thoughts that do not serve us and refocusing our energy.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable seated position with either your bottom or your feet rooted to the ground,
Keeping your back straight to channel positive energy.
Rest your hands on your thighs and when you're ready gently close your eyes.
Smile,
Take a deep breath in through your nose and sigh it out fully through your mouth.
Breathe in again as deeply as you can,
Filling your chest,
Your ribs,
Your stomach and sigh it out completely.
You are safe here.
Just breathe.
Use your breath as a pathway to the present moment.
It is reliable and consistent.
Focus on releasing any tension that you might be holding in your body.
Starting at the top of your head,
Relax the skin of your scalp.
Breathe relaxation into the muscles of your face.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your tongue sit loose in your mouth.
Release the pressure from your eyes.
Feel your neck.
Notice any tightness you feel in your neck.
And breathe release,
Releasing any tension from your neck.
Feel your shoulders relax.
Let them drop just another half inch.
Recommit to the posture,
Feeling your spine long and straight,
The crown of your head reaching for the ceiling.
Feel your chest relax.
As you relax,
Your breath deepens and lengthens.
Feel the tension leave your body.
Silently repeat the mantra to yourself,
I am safe.
If other thoughts come,
That's okay,
Let them go and come back to the mantra.
I am safe.
Focus on slowing down your breathing.
Match your in-breath to your out-breath.
Fill your lungs with life and happiness.
If your attention is moving,
Come back to your breath.
I am safe.
You are heard,
Seen,
Valued,
Needed.
Your eyes are closed and you are breathing and smiling.
Inhale deeply and sigh it out.
Let go of anything that may not be serving you at the moment,
An unhappy thought,
Any self-criticism,
A damaging relationship.
Breathe in and sigh out anything that does not serve you.
How would it feel to let that go forever?
What would your life be like without it?
Breathe in and sigh out anything that does not serve you.
The universe gives us what we focus our energy on.
Just focus on the feelings,
Situations,
And people that we do want in our lives.
Give your full focus to your breath and those things that you desire in your life.
Breathe in love and peace.
You are complete,
Loved,
Safe,
Valued.
Silently repeat this mantra to yourself,
May I be happy,
May I be healthy,
May I be happy,
May I be healthy.
Observe your mood from the inside.
How do you feel?
When you are ready to come back to our space,
Come back to your breathing.
Focus on the air moving in and out,
Through your nose,
Filling your body with life,
And slowly releasing each breath.
Thank yourself for making time for your meditation practice today,
And feel gratitude for those who may have practiced beside you.
Slowly become aware of the room around you,
The sounds,
The light.
You bring some gentle movement to your hands and your feet.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
I wish you a beautiful day.
Namaste.
