Welcome to this worthiness meditation.
The intention of this meditation is to help you recognize and remember your worthiness.
Worthiness is the recognition of one's own value and worth as a human being.
When we feel worthy,
We understand that we are deserving of being seen,
Understood,
And cared for.
To build self-worth,
We need to stop comparing ourselves to others and focus on speaking kindly to and about ourselves.
Our words and thoughts have so much power,
So in today's practice,
You will listen to positive affirmations about your worthiness.
Before we begin,
Let's take a few moments to settle in.
Find a comfortable position that honors your body.
This may be sitting with a tall,
Straight back,
Letting your hands rest naturally in your lap.
If it's more comfortable,
You can also lie down during our practice.
When you are ready,
I invite you to gently close your eyes or keep your eyes open with a soft downward gaze.
Now let's get centered by taking three deep,
Slow breaths.
Breathing in calm.
Breathing out tension.
Breathing in peace.
Breathing out worry.
Breathing in feelings of worthiness.
Breathing out feelings of doubt.
Turn to your natural breath and begin to notice where you experience your breath the most in your body.
This may be in your belly,
Chest,
Throat,
Or nostrils.
Notice your body expanding on the inhale,
Releasing on the exhale.
Begin to scan your body for any areas of tension,
Starting at the top of your head,
Moving down your body inch by inch,
All the way down to your feet.
If you notice any tension in your body,
See if you can breathe into these areas,
Releasing any tightness.
Gently shift your awareness to your thoughts and feelings.
Select whatever comes up,
Allowing any thoughts or feelings to surface and fade away.
For most of us,
It can be very easy to see the worthiness of the people we are close to,
But extremely challenging to see and accept our own worthiness.
We may believe that our worthiness is conditional,
But we are only worthy during certain times,
In certain spaces,
Or with certain people.
This meditation is your reminder that you are worthy,
Worthy of love,
Respect,
Kindness,
And peace.
You are worthy of these things when you are at your best,
And you are still worthy of these things when you are at your worst,
Regardless of your present or past circumstances,
Regardless of what others have told you or what you have told yourself.
So as you tune into your breath,
Listen to the following affirmations.
You do not need to repeat them.
Today's practice is about simply receiving these words and remembering they are always true.
You are worthy.
You are worthy of love.
You are worthy of care.
You are worthy of kindness.
You are worthy of compassion.
You are worthy of respect,
And you are worthy of peace.
You are worthy of joy.
You are worthy of patience.
You are worthy of forgiveness,
And you are worthy of acceptance.
You are worthy of healing.
You are worthy of being heard.
You are worthy of speaking your truth.
You are worthy of success.
You are worthy of rest.
You are worthy.
In his book,
The Secret of Staying in Love,
John Joseph Powell writes,
It is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving,
Caring human being.
Let this meditation serve as your mirror,
Reflecting your worthiness back to you.
Remember that there are no prerequisites to worthiness.
You were born worthy.
As we begin to move out of our practice,
Keeping your eyes closed or with a soft downward gaze,
I invite you to bring your palms together at your forehead as a reminder that everything starts with a thought.
Our thoughts influence our words,
Actions,
And energy.
Bring your palms together at your lips as a reminder to speak gently over yourself and others.
And bring your palms together at your heart as a reminder that you are always worthy of love and acceptance.
Gently release your hands and return your attention back to your breath.
Take one last deep inhale through the nose and an open mouth exhale.
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
When you are ready,
Return back to the room and gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Take the state of worthiness with you throughout your day.
Thank you so much for joining me and I'll see you next time.
