Welcome to this self-love meditation.
This practice will help you to reclaim and reunite with your highest self,
And will help you remember that you are worthy of your own love and acceptance.
Becca Lee's poem reminds us that we are not alone on our path to love and accept ourselves as we are.
She writes,
In some days I forget what it is to be gentle with myself,
How to look at myself with kind eyes and speak to myself with soft words,
Forget that I am my home and a temple worthy of worship.
Before we begin,
Let's take a few moments to settle in.
Find a comfortable position that honors your body.
This may be sitting with a tall,
Straight back,
Letting your hands rest naturally in your lap.
Or if it's more comfortable,
You can lie down during our practice.
When you are ready,
I invite you to gently close your eyes,
Or keep your eyes open with a soft downward gaze.
Now let's get centered by taking three deep,
Slow breaths.
Breathing in calm.
Breathing out tension.
Breathing in peace.
Breathing out worry.
Breathing in self-love.
And breathing out self-doubt.
Return to your natural breath and notice where you experience it the most in your body.
This may be in your belly,
In your chest,
Or nostrils.
Notice your body expanding on the inhale,
Releasing on the exhale.
Keeping your attention on your body,
Scan your body for any areas of tension,
Starting at the top of your head,
Scanning all the way down to your feet.
Gently shift your awareness to your thoughts and feelings.
Notice what comes up when you think about yourself.
If negative emotions or thoughts surface,
Acknowledge,
Accept,
And allow them,
Remembering that they are impermanent,
They won't last forever.
Part of the process of gaining self-love is accepting how you view yourself in the present moment,
Without judgment,
Without attachment.
Using your breath as an anchor,
I invite you to silently repeat the following phrases.
I am worthy of my own love and acceptance.
I am worthy of my own love and acceptance.
I accept all parts of myself unconditionally.
I accept all parts of myself unconditionally.
I deserve a life of happiness,
Joy,
And ease.
I deserve a life of happiness,
Joy,
And ease.
I am constantly growing,
Changing,
And evolving.
I am constantly growing,
Changing,
And evolving.
I am grateful for the person I am and the person I am becoming.
I am grateful for the person I am and the person I am becoming.
I love myself just as I am.
I love myself just as I am.
Idul Ahmed reminds us to be gentle with ourselves when she says,
You're evolving,
Learning,
Healing,
Growing,
And discovering yourself all at once.
It's about to get magical for you.
Take a few moments of gratitude for the time you took to show up for yourself today,
For remembering that you are worthy of love,
Care,
And support.
As we begin to move out of our practice,
Keeping your eyes closed or with a soft downward gaze,
I invite you to bring your palms together at your forehead as a reminder that everything starts with a thought.
They influence your words,
Actions,
And energy.
Bringing your palms together at your lips as a reminder to speak gently over yourself and others.
And bringing your palms together at your heart as a reminder of the power of self-love.
As you turn your attention back to your breath.
Take one last deep inhale through the nose.
And an open mouth exhale.
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you are ready,
Return back to the room and gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.
I invite you to take the state of self-love and acceptance with you throughout your day.
Thank you for joining me and I'll see you next time.
