Many of us are so disconnected from our bodies and the messages they are constantly sending us. This embodiment meditation, adapted from Jenna Ward, will support you in connecting with your breath, dropping into your body, and listening to the wisdom it holds. Music by Chris Collins

Welcome to this meditation to help you drop into your body and connect with its wisdom.

As we begin,

I invite you to find a comfortable position.

Once you're settled,

If it's safe for you to do so,

I invite you to gently close your eyes and bring a hand to rest on your body.

Perhaps you put a hand on your heart,

On your belly,

Or anywhere else on your body that feels supportive.

Taking a moment to become aware of your breath,

Feeling your breath as it flows in and out of your body,

Feeling the rise and fall of your chest as you breathe,

Knowing there's no need to change your breath,

Simply feeling it exactly as it is.

Now I invite you to bring your awareness to your base,

Breathing down into your seat,

Into the support that's beneath your body,

Taking a moment to feel all the points of your body that rest on your chair,

Your cushion,

The floor.

And with your next exhale,

Letting your body become heavy,

Letting your back,

Your base,

Your legs,

Your whole body relax and melt into the support that's there,

Surrendering your weight down to the chair,

The floor,

The earth beneath you.

And now shifting your awareness to your heart,

Feeling your heart open on every exhale,

Breathing here,

Dropping deeper and deeper into your heart,

Opening your heart to feel,

Sense,

And see anything that is here in this moment.

I invite you to let your body move and adjust in any big or small movements,

Letting your body lead.

Maybe there's a change in position or posture that your heart needs in order to open even more.

As you continue to drop deeper into your beautiful body,

I invite you to take a moment to drop this question into your body.

How can I love you more?

Just noticing what bubbles up in response,

Knowing there's no need to chase any answers,

Simply asking your body,

How can I love you more?

Opening to this question to feel,

Sense,

And see all that might arise in response.

And now in your own time,

Gently bringing some movement into your fingers and toes,

Coming back to the space that you're in,

I invite you to bring your palms together at your heart in gratitude of this practice that brings you back home to your body again and again and again.

Thank you so much for joining me for this meditation,

And I'll see you next time.

Beautiful practice to gently get in touch with our bodies 💗 It saddened me that there was a kind of numbness which came up when I asked my body how I could love it more. I think this is because I have numbed it out often when pushing myself too hard and letting my mind dominate. Little by little, with regular practice, I resolve to let my body back into the conversation 🙏💗✨

I enjoyed this meditation for its soft, compassionate guidance and the internal question posed. as the question was repeated through the meditation, I experienced a variety of sensations that positioned my body as an interface to both the material and immaterial; my very senses can be sharpened by care, affection, and rest. dropping into the notion that loving the body can change one’s entire perspective is a powerful notion about the connectivity between mind and body. self-care is an ingredient of change. grateful for this practice 🙏🏾.

What a gentle way to ground into the body. I will definitely be returning to this one. (My six year old joined me for this, and he said, “Wow, I might fall asleep!” 🤍)
