As mums, we so often rush through the day without stopping to catch our breath. This gentle five-minute meditation invites you to rest your hands on your belly, breathe deeply, and feel a warm light filling you with calm. A simple way to pause, reconnect with your body, and return to your children feeling steadier and more present.

Close your eyes and rest your hands gently on your belly.

Take a deep,

Slow breath in.

Feel your belly rise and then breathe out slowly.

Feel your belly fall.

Do this a few times,

Letting your body know it's safe to slow down.

Breathing in and out and in.

Now imagine a warm ball of light above your head.

It can be whatever colour,

Texture you want it to be.

As you breathe in,

The light begins to gently lower down,

Softly glowing.

And with each breath,

It spreads down through your body.

First,

It touches the crown of your head,

Bringing gentle calm.

Then your face,

Softening your forehead,

Your eyes,

Your jaw.

The light spreads down to your neck,

Shoulders,

Melting away any tension.

And with each breath,

It flows through your chest,

Your arms,

Your hands,

Filling you with warmth.

It continues through your belly,

Hips,

Legs,

Down to your feet,

Grounding you fully.

Now rest here for another few breaths,

Your whole body glowing with this calm light.

And when you're ready,

Imagine the light settling deep into your belly.

A quiet spark,

Always there,

And you can return to any time.

Now take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.

And gently feel your body again.

Wiggle your toes,

Your fingers,

Listen to the sounds in the room.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.
