Today,
Let's muse on the sway of our emotions and then dive into the inherent birthright of awareness.
Yes there are times when I get into a bad mood but I don't necessarily do anything with it.
In fact,
Growing up I was always told over and over again how moody I was and part of my own personal journey to be in the fullness of myself has been to see the sway and the embodiment of the sway of my emotions to be a navigation system to truth.
I know that I am not the for want of a better word bad feeling or mood just as I know I am not the thoughts and sensations that cross the field of the pure awareness that I am.
I don't try to get rid of any mood,
I simply allow it to be,
Knowing that it will leave on its own in its own accord.
If you feel angry or sad,
So what,
It doesn't matter so much.
Let the feelings come and let the feelings go.
If we take this attitude when whatever the passing emotion is,
It doesn't become entrenched in the mental field,
The energy that comes from our mind or our attention.
The more attention,
The more it inflates like a balloon.
Moods good or bad are not a problem unless they are in relation to any one entity that is personalising their experience.
The sky does not care if the clouds are there.
The clouds may be light and small or they may be dark and heavy with rain,
But it does not affect the sky.
Everything constantly changes and there is no problem with that unless there is a separate entity taking it personally.
Things will continue as long as the mind and body are present and functioning,
And they are not a problem unless they get attached to an entity that has them.
Tocqueville says our inherently present wakefulness is not something we'll find in the future,
Nor something we had in the past,
It's presence right now.
And it's something that we don't have to accept or reject.
Don't do anything about it,
Don't adopt it,
Don't avoid it,
Don't entertain any hope or fear about it.
Don't try to change it or alter it or improve it in any way.
Awareness doesn't come and go.
If your experience is that awareness comes and goes,
Look and see what it is exactly you are taking to be awareness.
If it comes and goes,
It cannot be your external unchanging natural state.
It has to be one of the appearances in awareness.
The idea that your original nature can come and go is just a thought,
A misunderstanding.
Thoughts by their nature come and go endlessly in you.
But you are not the thought,
You are not the one seeing the thought,
So any thought of who you are cannot be the truth of who you are.
The habit of always flowing out into thoughts,
Emotions and outer manifestation distract us from our natural self and the distractions seemingly cover this awareness.
And all that is happening is that attention has flown outward chasing objects.
In reality,
Awareness has not gone anywhere.
It is still the background,
The perceiving of everything.
Without awareness we wouldn't be aware of anything including the distractions.
All that needs to be done at this point is to recognise the perceiver,
The essence of the thinker.
The moment we recognise the essence of the thinker all thoughts dissolve into the awareness from where they originated.
Take a deep breath now.
Light your candle at the centre of your heart.
As you breathe in to receive,
Open your heart and soften your energy into the earth.
Consciously breathe into your body to be full of your own life,
To place happiness and love in your own hands rather than always looking for a place in someone else's.
Placing your hands on your heart,
Remembering in this moment that it is your choice to be here in your body.
Your soul chose this earthly existence wholly and completely.
Invite your soul back into your body.
Call her back from all the places where she may have felt lost throughout the day and call her home now.
Feel and sense what is here,
Whether it be an emotion,
A sensation or a thought.
See every sensation as a gateway into your power.
As you receive them,
You dissolve them.
Feel it and breathe it.
Finding yourself coming awake deep from the inside centre of you.
In this moment,
You are present,
You are whole,
You remember who you are and your radiance ripples out from the very core of all of you.
You meet your life,
You meet your light.
Taking a deep breath in,
Exhaling out softly and gently coming back into the present moment and space.
