Hi,

This is Tamara,

MindBodyNow,

Here to guide you in a meditation to connect to joy.

So I'll invite you to begin by setting your environment.

Choose if you'll be seated or laying down,

If you'd like to dim the lights or close the door.

Would you like a pillow or a blanket?

You can take off your eyeglasses and put the phone down and just listen to my voice.

So once you're settled,

We'll go ahead and let the eyes lightly close,

Or you can gaze softly down the tip of the nose,

And begin to breathe deep in through the nose,

Letting it go out an open mouth.

Again,

Inhale.

One more time like that,

Deep breath in,

And then just move your consciousness from your jaw to your shoulders,

To your hips,

And to anywhere else where you may be holding tension in the body in this moment.

See if you can soften here,

Continuing to breathe long and slow.

Great.

Okay,

So for today's meditation,

You either have the choice of accessing an actual moment of joy in your memory,

Or creating a brand new fictional joyous event or experience and using that.

So just take a moment here to breathe into the idea using one of your actual joyful experiences,

Or creating a new one of your own.

And as you allow your mind to move in these directions,

How do you begin to feel?

How do you feel in your heart?

Take a deep breath in.

So the mind is very clever.

So often we allow it to get back in touch with a stressful memory,

Or to recreate or invent a stressful outcome or possibility,

And then the body begins to feel it.

So here,

Now,

We're doing it completely different.

We're going straight to that positive experience,

That feeling,

And letting it expand.

And just noting,

What are you doing in your mind?

Who are you with?

Where are you?

What is happening?

What do you hear,

Taste,

Smell,

Touch?

Let it expand even more,

Taking a deep breath in through the heart center,

Maybe feeling a smile on your face.

It's a timeless moment with no beginning and no end.

It just is expanding and growing into joy.

Good.

So we'll take just a few more breaths in this moment,

In this feeling,

With this light,

And allow ourselves to hold on to that,

The feeling,

As this moment begins to dissolve,

Fading back into memory,

A vision we can always return to again tomorrow or the next time we choose to meditate,

Or just need to be reminded of what it feels like to feel joy.

So join me in just a few final breaths here.

Deep inhale.

Let it out through an open mouth.

Again,

Inhale.

One more time.

Deep inhale.

Exhale out an open mouth.

Place both of your hands on your heart.

Take that joy with you now back into your day.

And I thank you so much for listening to me,

Joining me in this meditation to connect to joy.

My name is Tamara.

Mind.

Body.
