Welcome to this meditation.

Perhaps you're experiencing a sense of ungroundedness or a searching for where the safety lies.

I want you to know that all is well.

That all is okay.

And that wherever you are and whatever you are feeling.

Let's see if we can open up to the possibility that everything is okay.

That this too shall pass.

And that it's only the mind that construes these stories and twists these events to tell us that we should be somewhere where we're not.

That we should be feeling something different to what we are feeling.

But right now in this moment I want you to know that you are safe.

You are okay.

Let's let go of any expectations you've placed on how you should be feeling or what you should be doing right now.

Or in fact there is part of you right now that is perhaps feeling unsettled.

So let's welcome this part forward here today.

To relax.

To feel nurtured and reminded that it is safe.

So let's welcome in a deepening of relaxation here for you today in your body.

As you take your next breath in see if on the exhale you can surrender just a little bit.

Perhaps you can drop your shoulders just letting them go.

Letting go of any feeling that you are carrying weight on your shoulders.

Just letting go.

Focusing your jaw now.

If you are clenching or holding on.

See if you can allow your jaw to drop.

To soften.

Letting your tongue relax.

See if you can bring softening now to the backs of your eyes.

Focusing your eyebrows,

Your eye socket.

If you've been seeing the world through fearful eyes,

Let's just allow your eyes to fully soften and relax now.

Bringing your awareness now to your heart.

Just seeing how your heart is feeling in this moment.

If it feels open or somewhat protected.

Just noticing where your heart is at in this moment.

I want you to imagine now that this part of you that felt unsafe.

This part of you that was looking for safety outside of yourself.

I want you to welcome this part into your heart now.

Focusing your inner child now.

Your inner child often calls out to you when it feels unsettled in some way.

Your inner child is young and creative.

Your inner child is tender and loving.

And whilst it searches for safety in other people or other things,

Really at the end of the day your inner child just wants to be with you.

It wants your presence,

Your love and your undivided attention.

So bring this child now into your heart.

Let it know that it is safe here.

If there's anything that you want to tell this beautiful child,

Say it now in your mind's eye.

And listen now,

If there's anything from your inner child,

Any message for you now,

Listen.

Thanking your child for this message.

Seeing that whatever came through,

However clear or unclear,

It's okay.

Just by you stopping to check in with your child,

This part of yourself feels heard and loved.

I want you to imagine now that you're wrapping a big fluffy warm blanket around yourself,

Around you and your inner child that lives in your heart.

Giving this blanket a colour and a really warm fluffy cosy texture,

Wrapping you and your inner child into this blanket of love.

Breathing in this nurture,

Breathing in this sense of safety,

Breathing in this bond that you have with this part of yourself.

Suppose you'd like to make a commitment to your inner child that you will take time throughout your day to check in with this part of yourself.

And if ever they feel unsettled,

Ungrounded or unsafe,

You can remember this blanket that's always here for you to wrap you and your inner child in for love,

Protection and a warmth.

Breathing in now through your nose,

Let it go through your mouth.

May you feel comforted,

May your child feel the love that's there for it always.

May you trust that you are exactly where you're supposed to be,

Here with these feelings,

With this connection with your inner child.

May you love this part that you love.
