Hi,
My name is Tess from The Big Heart Journey,
And I'm so happy that you're here.
I wrote this meditation because I am also on a journey to meet my baby,
And it's not a journey that I was ever expecting to be on,
And it has a lot of big feelings.
And I've found that meditation is something that I use over and over again to help come back to myself and my heart in those moments when things are starting to feel a little dark.
This is a meditation that I wrote particularly for that moment when you get your period,
But it is also a useful meditation for any moment when things feel a bit disappointing.
Perhaps it didn't happen the way that you wanted it to.
In those moments,
I'm finding it's really important for me to have something to turn to to remind me of myself,
My wholeness,
And just to come back to my heart.
I'm hoping that it will help you in the same way that it's been helping me.
So I want to invite you to find a really cozy spot to sit or lie down.
This is all about self-care and love,
So the cozier and more comfortable you can be.
I love putting a heating pad on my lower back,
Cover yourself up with a blanket,
Do whatever it is that you need to do to really cocoon.
And put one hand on your belly and one hand in your heart,
And just notice what kind of feelings are happening for you in this moment.
Remembering that all of your feelings are really okay to have,
And I get it,
There's a lot of them.
What would it be like to just allow yourself to have them right now?
Just for a minute,
Feel your feelings with no judgment.
If these feelings were a color,
What color would they be?
What shape are they?
Do they make a sound?
Notice the feelings that you're having right now in space,
As if you can see them outside of yourself.
These feelings are all visitors.
They will soon leave for the moment.
Let them just be.
Let them say what they need to say.
Let them grieve.
I invite you to imagine that as these feelings feel,
As they release,
They move farther away from you.
And as these feelings feel and release,
You become aware of a sound that is larger than them.
It's the sound of the beating of your heart.
That heart that is just there loving you all day,
Every day,
Since you were born.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
That heart that knows that there is nothing wrong with you,
That you're whole and perfect and complete,
Just as you are.
That heart.
Let that heartbeat be bigger than anything else.
That heart is your North Star.
That heart is your knowing,
Your truth.
Imagine the beating of your heart moving through your body,
Filling it with love.
Move that beating of your heart around your body until you can feel its pulse in your fingertips and your toes,
Until you can feel its pulse in the top of your head.
You can feel that heartbeat in your ears and your cheeks and your shoulders.
That heartbeat is who you are.
Let that heartbeat move around the feelings and hug them as it goes.
And imagine this heartbeat saying,
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
And move that heartbeat to where you're bleeding right now.
That blood is an important part of this process of your body being healthy,
Your body being ready to be ready to be ready for that baby.
This is just a part of your journey,
A little stopover.
We will move through it and move into another place on the journey.
But for now we're here and your body is working.
It's doing this thing that it's done for so many years.
I love you.
I love you.
Allow the beating of your heart to just remind this part of your body of how much it's loved.
We are whole.
We are complete.
We are magical beings on this planet on a journey.
And this journey that we've been given is a part of our growth.
This journey will lead us to exactly where we're meant to be.
Even if this particular stopover feels a bit hard,
There will soon be other places,
Other stopovers,
Other moments that don't.
There will be moments filled with love and excitement,
Little tiny giggles and hugs,
Little baby hugs.
But right now,
Imagine giving yourself a great big hug,
The top of your head,
All the way down to the tips of your toes,
This beautiful body of yours.
Send it some love.
I'm over here doing exactly the same thing.
I want to send some love from me to you.
I am honored to be here beside you in this moment.
So thank you for including me.
And I hope you know that you're never alone.
And I hope you continue to give yourself some love today and tomorrow and throughout the rest of this journey to meet your baby.
I love you.
