Om Namasivaya Om Namasivaya Om Namasivaya Om Namasivaya This is guided meditation where you just have to listen.

There is nothing to be done.

Just listen and follow the meaning of the words.

Meditations are of different kinds depending upon what you meditate upon.

This is a contemplative meditation in which I meditate upon the reality.

The reality of myself.

The reality of Ishvara.

This is more a meditation on what is.

There is another kind of meditation where I imagine what is not.

Like meditating upon a Devadatta with the help of a form or an image.

Here however,

My attempt is to see what is.

For example,

Meditating upon,

Contemplating upon the reality of my own self.

I need to see the reality of my own self because I have notions or conclusions about who I am.

I have taken for granted that I am a human being.

That is all I am.

I am happy.

I am unhappy.

I am successful.

I am not.

I am father.

I am mother.

I have judgments or conclusions I have about myself.

Sometimes I am a speaker.

Sometimes I am a listener.

Sometimes I am a walker.

Sometimes I am a thinker.

Then who am I?

Am I a speaker?

A seer?

A hearer?

A thinker?

A walker?

Who am I?

The I keeps on changing the roles.

Like an actor who is a king now,

A beggar later,

A minister some other time.

Depending upon what role he is playing,

What costumes he is wearing.

Similarly,

I seem to be playing a variety of roles.

Right now a meditator,

A thinker.

Little later I may be a speaker,

A talker,

An eater,

A walker.

Depending upon what function I am playing.

Who am I?

Who is playing these various roles?

Thus this can be a subject of contemplation.

During this meditation I am relaxed.

Seated in a comfortable posture.

My eyes are closed.

Fingers of my palms are interlocked and resting on the lap.

I am seated as erect as possible,

Comfortable without any strain.

Relaxed.

In this meditation there is nothing to accomplish,

Nothing to achieve,

Nothing to prove.

It is just to be what I am.

At this time I am by myself.

I am not trying to prove myself to anybody.

I am not trying to please somebody.

I am not trying to appear different from what I am.

During the day when I am interacting with people there is often a facade.

More often than not I do not come across as I really am.

Very often I make a show of a person different from what I really am.

Because I want to be accepted by the world.

I want to be approved by the world.

I want to maintain a certain image.

And therefore very often I make an appearance of a person different from what I am.

Not so during this meditation.

I am my natural self because I am with myself.

This is an appointment with myself.

But I spend a quality time with myself.

When all other agenda is set aside.

Everything can wait.

Because in this world nothing is as important as I am.

And therefore all the agenda is set aside.

I just want to remain what I am.

The good,

Bad or indifferent,

Whatever I am,

That is just what I want to remain.

And I want to accept myself,

Respect myself for what I am.

At this time I am not trying to be different from what I am.

I am not trying to be somebody else.

I am what I am with all my limitations,

With all my shortcomings,

With all my defects and faults.

I am just owning up everything with no sense of shame.

Without looking down upon myself.

I am comfortable with myself.

Male or female,

Young or not young,

Healthy or not so healthy,

Strong or not so strong,

Whatever I am.

Wealthy or not so wealthy,

Successful or not so successful,

Whatever I am.

I accept myself.

I respect myself.

Regardless of what opinion the world has about myself.

Not judging myself from the standards of the world.

Accepting myself as I.

With my virtues and shortcomings.

I know I have limitations.

I know I have shortcomings.

I know I have imperfections.

I know.

And still I accept myself as I.

I accept my body as it is.

A great gift of each one.

Whether body is young or not,

Strong or not,

Healthy or not,

Male or female,

Whatever it is.

I accept,

Appreciate the gift of the body.

Without imposing any demands.

I have no demands for my body.

I unconditionally accept my body.

I am comfortable with my body.

I am happy with my body.

Similarly,

I accept my mind.

My mind is a great gift of each one.

I know there are shortcomings,

Limitations in my mind.

I know my mind is not perfect.

I know there are many faults.

I know sometimes I get angry,

Sometimes greedy,

Sometimes jealous,

I know.

They're all incidental.

I accept,

Respect my mind.

I enjoy the fact that I have a mind,

That I have a body,

That I am alive.

I enjoy the simple facts about myself.

What do I need to be happy?

Just accepting myself.

Respecting myself.

Enjoying myself.

That is all I need to be happy.

After all,

The body is a dwelling place.

The mind is an instrument to perform various functions.

I,

Who am dwelling in this body,

I,

Who am using this mind,

And sense organs,

I am clearly different from them.

The mind has limitations.

That does not mean I have limitations.

The body may be growing old.

It doesn't mean I am growing old.

I am a simple conscious being,

Possessing the body,

Possessing the mind.

The limitations belong to the body.

The limitations belong to the mind.

Let the body be limited.

Let the mind be limited.

I am still what I am,

In spite of their limitations.

When I am comfortable with the body,

Comfortable with the mind,

Then I am at peace with myself.

Then I can see that I am a peaceful,

Silent,

Conscious being.

Regardless of how the body is,

Regardless of how the mind is,

I am a silent,

Peaceful,

Conscious being.

When there is self-acceptance,

There is no conflict in the mind.

I am at peace with myself.

That peace,

Silence,

Is the happiness.

I am happy when I am comfortable,

At peace.

The presence of thoughts does not disturb me.

Undisturbed,

Peaceful,

Silent,

Conscious being,

I am.

I am a silent,

Peaceful,

Conscious being.

I am a silent,

Peaceful,

Conscious being.
