Om Namah Shivaya,

Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya This is an appointment with myself.
A quality time that I spend with myself.
It is a privilege,
It is a luxury.
When I am completely free from all occupations.
I am completely free from all duties and responsibilities.
For this half hour I have no duties,
No responsibilities.
I am a renunciate.
A renunciate is the one who has renounced all his duties and responsibilities.
Therefore during this half hour I am not mother nor wife.
Neither husband nor father nor a daughter nor a brother nor a friend nor even a citizen.
Those roles are important.
When I am conducting my day to day life.
Right now all those roles are given up.
And I need not feel guilty about it because whereas I have many duties to perform towards the world I have some duty towards myself also.
I cannot possibly perform my duties.
I cannot possibly function well unless I take care of myself.
This is a time set aside to take care of myself.
To fulfill a duty towards myself.
That I just remain my natural self.
When I do not have to pretend to be different from what I am.
When I am not seeking someone's approval.
When I am not trying to prove myself.
I remain a simple conscious person.
This is the time to live in the present.
The past is dropped.
Whatever has happened has happened.
Whether I liked it or did not like it.
I gracefully accept my past.
While going through some unpleasant experiences.
I may have reacted with anger or resentment.
I may have felt frustrated or sad.
I realize that all those were reactions because of resistance to the realities of life.
Because of non-acceptance of the realities of life.
I accept the realities of life gracefully.
People are what they are.
Most people are helpless.
They do not have the freedom to be different from what they are.
And therefore they act as they do.
I accept all those behaviors large heartedly with compassion.
And towards those who have hurt me in the past.
Then I can put the past away in the past.
I also gracefully accept that pain and unpleasantness are realities of life.
I need not internalize them.
I need not give them more realities than they have.
I take them in my stride.
That is how I settle account with the past.
No regrets about the past.
No hurt or guilt from the past.
No anger or resentment from the past.
Similarly future.
I am willing to accept the realities as they come.
Recognizing that Ishvara is managing my life.
Whatever he has given in the past and whatever he will give in the future.
All of that must be for my well being.
Because I know that Ishvara is my well-wisher.
And therefore I am not worried nor anxious about the future.
I will gracefully accept it as the prasada,
As the grace of Ishvara.
Then my mind is free from the regrets of the past.
The hurt and guilt of the past and worries and anxieties of the future because of accepting Ishvara in my life.
Similarly accepting the present.
Special acceptance of what I cannot change.
A compassion and forgiveness towards those who may be inimical to me.
Giving up worries and anxieties of my near and dear ones to the care of Ishvara.
Thus in surrender to Ishvara,
In graceful acceptance of Ishvara I can let go the past,
Future and the present.
Recognizing that I need not worry about others nor need to worry about myself.
Then my mind is free.
It is quiet.
It is cheerful,
Joyful.
The quietude,
The joy is the true nature of the mind.
Just as purity and transparency is the nature of water,
So also tranquility and joy are the nature of the mind.
Because of the world acceptance of the realities,
Because of the resistance to the realities,
Because of preoccupation with duties and responsibilities,
That tranquility and joy are denied to me.
When the worries,
Anxieties,
Duties,
Responsibilities are given up,
My mind is tranquil.
It is silent.
There is silent joy.
The silence and the joy that my mind reflects are in fact the nature of the self,
Nature of myself.
I am silent,
I am tranquil,
I am joyful.
The simple conscious being that I am is tranquil and joyful without any reason.
Because tranquility,
Joy is my nature.
That is the appointment with myself.
The self that is of the nature of tranquility,
Silence,
Joy.
Being tranquil,
Being silent,
Being joyful is being myself.
Appointment with myself is being myself.
I am not blocks away from what the other side of my mind.
