Self-Inquiry is awakening through the path of wisdom. It is often referred to as the direct path to awakening. Sri Ramana Maharishi often guided people to follow self-inquiry to realize their true nature as Infinite Consciousness. In this audio, I have included self-inquiry statements that have helped in my journey. Some statements have been inspired from the book "Waking up as Awareness" by Ramaji.

Hello and welcome.

This is a guided session on self-enquiry.

Self-enquiry is a path of wisdom and it helps you discover that you are already awake,

You're already the true self.

Let us begin.

Please close your eyes.

Who am I?

What am I?

What am I?

Where am I?

Where am I?

Self-enquiry is instant recognition.

For this recognition,

You need to leave aside all thoughts and all concepts you have of yourself.

Just staying with the question and having the intention that I really want to know who I am.

It's not to describe yourself to anyone or to find more spiritual concepts.

It's really about you wanting to know who am I.

Let's inquire again.

Who am I?

What am I?

What am I?

Where am I?

Do not use any thought.

Really check where am I?

Another form of inquiry is who are you?

Who are you?

You are here,

You are listening to this voice.

Who are you?

Who are you?

What are you?

Where are you?

Just stay as you are.

Don't add anything.

Your true self is the I am self.

The I thought is the thought that poses as you.

I had a bad childhood.

I am a victim.

This is a thought.

Thought that associates with the body and makes you feel that you are the body.

You are the body mind.

The true self is the I am self.

The infinite I am self.

The thought arises in you.

The I thought grabs your attention and makes you feel like you are a finite entity.

Please be aware of the I thought.

The thought that poses as you.

Your true self is here right now.

Your true self is already awake.

Whenever you don't follow thoughts and believe thoughts,

You are one with your true self.

Even when you follow thoughts,

You are one with your true self.

But you experience yourself as separate.

We often hear people say,

My mind is troubling me.

My mind is too active.

My ego is strong.

Let's enquire together.

Try to find the ego.

Right now,

Look for it.

Can you find the ego?

Where is it?

The ego that is strong,

Persistent.

Please try to find it.

Find out what is it and where is it.

Listen to the silence.

As you are listening to the silence,

Is the ego there?

We are allowing a non-existent entity to rule our life.

Now that you don't find it,

Understand that it's not a power.

It poses as a power.

You are the awakened one.

The more you learn your truth,

The more you dismiss the ego as just another thought posing as you,

The more love and happiness you find in your life.

Let's go to the next enquiry.

If there is a barrier or block to your awakening,

It should be tangible.

It should be locatable.

Find the barrier to your awakening.

Where is it?

What is it?

Can you show it to someone?

This is the block to my awakening.

Can you show it to yourself?

You are convinced that there is a block to your awakening.

There is a block to your peace and happiness.

What is it?

Where is it?

Again listen to the silence.

Is the block to your awakening here now?

The block to awakening is as imaginary as the ego.

When the Buddha was asked,

Are you man or God?

He said,

I am neither.

I am awake.

Which means he no longer believed thoughts.

He no longer believed himself to be a separate being.

Whenever you no longer believe thoughts,

You are awake.

Whenever you trust the silence,

You are awake.

So the question is,

How does it feel to be an awakened being?

Right now you are the awakened being.

Drop aside all spiritual concepts of how awakening should be.

How does it feel to be the awakened being?

Namaste.

I bow down to the awakened being that you are.

A profound yet simple --before it has become hard through conditioning-- quest conveyed with a beautiful, searching and compassionate voice. Maybe the pace could even be softer? Whilst listening I wondered if I could see/k awakening in another being
