Hello and welcome.

Attitude towards Emotions This audio is part of my course,

Healing Emotions with Divine Love and Surrender.

Our conditioning causes us to seek and embrace positive emotions and reject the contracting negative emotions that arise in our experience.

Please note the term negative emotion is used only as a reference and in the truest form all emotions are love and once healed they will return to love.

Be aware of the old conditioning of resistance towards negative emotions as what you resist persists and fighting negative emotion only causes suffering and blocks the healing process.

It is love that heals not resistance.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe and love can hold and heal any emotion.

All emotions within you that need to be healed will come to the surface whether you like it or not.

There is a wisdom in this that is realized only over time.

How would it be to look at contracting negative emotions as energy that is unloved,

Afraid,

Anxious,

Incomplete,

Energy of abandonment,

Energy that's not seen,

Unheard,

Unheld,

And it has come to your conscious awareness to be held,

To be loved,

To be seen,

To be acknowledged.

How would it be to look at all contracting emotions,

All emotions that we term negative as lack of love?

We have never seen contracting emotions like this.

We have seen it as something unpleasant that shouldn't be here and this attitude itself is a big block to healing.

When triggered,

The common reactions thanks to lifelong conditioning are,

Why is this here?

It is my fault.

It is the other person's fault.

Why do I have to suffer these emotions?

Why is this happening to me?

All these reactions are different forms of resistance.

The underlying message is,

This emotion should not be here.

When triggered,

Can you embrace what is happening with an attitude of acceptance?

When triggered,

Can you embrace what is happening with an attitude of acceptance and willingness?

I'm suggesting some ways in which you can move from an attitude of resistance to an attitude of love and willingness,

Which is the first step in healing.

These are the suggestions.

When triggered,

Can you ask yourself,

Can I stop fighting this emotion and situation and take this as an opportunity to heal?

Can I hold the unloved part of me,

Which is here right now with love,

Care and tenderness?

Can I allow this emotion or situation to help me surrender more deeply to the true self?

Can I look at this emotion as a child aspect of me,

Which only wants to be loved?

The above responses open our heart to healing and help us move from an energy of resistance and help us move from an energy of resistance to an energy of willingness.

Understanding negative emotions as unloved parts of us and moving towards them rather than away from them is very,

Very important.

Rumi speaks about loving all emotions in his poem,

The Guest House.

The Guest House This,

Being human,

Is a guest house.

Every morning,

A new arrival.

A joy,

A depression,

A meanness.

Some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all.

Even if they are a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house violently sweep your house,

Empty of its furniture,

Still treat each guest honorably.

He may be cleaning you out for some new delight.

The dark thought,

The shame,

The malice.

Meet them at the door,

Laughing.

Invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,

Because each one has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Please close your eyes and imagine yourself in a room.

The room has a door and a window and you hear a knock at the door and you just ignore it.

You hear a knock at the door.

You feel fear.

You hear another knock.

You feel irritation.

The knocking continues.

You call a friend.

You turn on the television.

You read a spiritual book and the knocking continues.

You try to ignore it.

No matter what you do,

The knocking continues.

Something in you does not want to acknowledge the knocking,

Does not want to see what's on the other end.

And then one day you decide to look out of the window and then one day you decide to look out of the window and there you see a small child.

A small,

Innocent child.

And then to your surprise,

It is not any child.

It is you as a child.

The child looks tired.

Tired of knocking.

Tired of standing.

Tired of waiting.

And then you open the door,

Allow the child in and the child looks very tired.

You ask the child to sit down and you sit next to the child.

And you just realize,

I have been ignoring myself.

I have been ignoring the child aspect of me.

And you ask the child,

What do you want?

And the child says,

I want to be held.

I want to be seen.

I want to be loved.

I don't know how to do it myself.

And you go closer to the child,

Hold the child's hand and tell the child,

I see you.

I love you and I care for you.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry that I didn't open the door sooner.

I was afraid.

I did not know.

But from now on,

You and me are together.

I will never reject you.

I will never ignore you.

I will never be afraid.

I will never be afraid of you.

I will never ignore you.

You and me are together.

You and me are one.

As you and the child sit together like this,

Know that the true self,

The formless divine self is holding both of you.

This is a beautiful union,

A beautiful reunion.

The child,

The conscious parent and the divine parent.

Dear friend,

All emotions are the child aspect of you.

They cannot harm you and they are the unloved parts of you.

You were not born with it.

You were born as love,

In love.

And at some point,

Some experience created this fear,

This anger,

This sadness,

And the love was veiled.

And the love wants to renew itself.

The emotion wants to return to love.

And unless you open the door,

You acknowledge the emotion,

The healing cannot happen.

When I say you,

I mean that conscious part of you,

The one that can make the choice,

Can make the choice between healing and resistance,

Healing and denial,

Healing and running away.

So when you make this important choice of saying yes,

Yes emotion,

I see you,

And then the doors of love open up and the divine presence can heal the wound inside of you.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe.

By being loving and caring towards the unloved parts of you,

You are opening that door of love.

And as you make this one step in opening the door of love,

Many doors will be opened by the divine and love will be your natural state.

You will live and move and have your being in love.

You will be the love that you seek.

May divine love permeate your life.

Thank you.

Namaste.

Looking at strong emotions that continue to arise throughout my life as hurt parts of me that have been ignored, overlooked has helped in my healing process tremendously. I practice this every time a strong emotion arises and the feeling disipates. Thank you for your guidance in helping me doing so Susitha πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’–
