This meditation is an invitation to rest into the deep silence and holding of the fabric of life that connects us all. Allowing everything to be as it is, we witness and allow thoughts, emotions, and experiences without trying to stop, fix or change them, but give our attention to that which lies behind and underneath it all. From this blank canvas of silence and stillness we open the flower voices petal by petal, loving and accepting these miracle living instruments that we are. Enjoy!

Welcome to this song from the Silence,

Presence and Voice meditation.

Right now I am on a little solo retreat in a caravan on the edge of the cliff on the coast of Devon in southwest UK and I am feeling full of the ocean and the salty air and the beautiful power and depth and healing and strength that the ocean gives me.

So I'm happy to invite you into this space with an ocean themed meditation.

Opening out from stillness into some voice activation opening our voices,

These miracle living instruments petal by petal and ending with a closing song called Creatures of the Deep.

Welcome,

Welcome to you exactly as you are.

Whatever is moving through you,

Whatever emotions,

Sensations,

Mood,

Experience,

Memories,

Thought patterns are with you right now.

Not trying to change any of that,

Just welcoming,

Welcoming,

Welcoming.

Every layer that we are right now,

Not pushing anything away or wishing things were different or if we do find ourselves wishing things are different not trying to fix that either.

Just allowing thoughts to be as they are and recognising somewhere deeper that those thoughts are not actually us,

The truth of who we are.

They come and go,

Not even sure where they are generated,

Who they are generated by.

Maybe it's not actually us that creates the thoughts.

If it were maybe we would be able to control them a little bit more.

So just open,

Open to the possibility of anything being possible,

Witnessing whatever is in our direct experience right now.

Finding out for ourselves what this moment has to offer.

So sitting comfortably or lying down if that's what you need.

I like to feel the uprightness of my spine but very relaxed also,

Allowing the shoulders to relax.

Like a sack of rice just resting on the floor.

And anchoring into this present moment,

This present,

All that we have,

This life right here existing.

This is where it's at,

Nowhere else.

The past is but a thought,

The future is but a thought.

And allowing the breath to be the anchor into the here and now,

Through the body.

The simple flow of the in and the out.

How many millions of times has this breath gone in and out but every other single time is just a thought.

We can think about those times,

Think about how we don't really remember them,

We were perhaps present for very few of them.

But the only one that actually exists is this one,

This single breath.

Like waves flowing in,

Flowing out,

The moon waxing and the moon shining.

And as those waves come in and go out,

They're washing over the pebbles,

Soothing the pebble of our heart,

The beautiful shells and pebbles at the shore of our experience,

Of our internal world.

Throughout our lives,

This breath smoothing,

Smoothing,

Polishing,

Polishing.

The waves as they come in,

Waves of breath kissing and caressing the internal shoreline with all the nuances of age,

The nuances of time,

The life,

The memories,

Each pebble,

Each shell,

Each little barnacle.

A memory of experience,

Long gone.

But this wave that washes over is so full of life,

So rich and deep with life,

Drawing in the magic of the waves of life.

Our breath,

Communication from our internal world to the external world,

To the internal world.

And as these tides of the breath anchor us deeper into the body,

Into the lungs,

Down into the belly,

Into the basin of the pelvis,

Resting on the floor,

On the cushion,

The basin of the ocean,

Of the root of our being,

Just bringing our awareness to rest down in the root,

This basin holding the ocean of creativity,

The roundness,

The spiralling,

The tides and the seasons,

The waxing and the waning,

Motherhood,

Fatherhood.

And behind all the movement,

Behind the tides,

Behind the turning wheel of time,

Behind the waves of the in-breath and the out-breath,

Behind the thoughts,

The experiences,

The sounds,

The sound of my voice,

There is something deeper that lies behind it all.

A rich stillness,

A deep and full silence,

A silence that's almost humming with its own creative potential,

An ocean of silence.

As it flows to connect every single thing,

There is a deep stillness inside this ocean,

Gazing out to the horizon,

A balance,

An equanimity,

Listening into the stillness and the silence that lies between every thought,

Between every cell,

Between the atom and the nucleus,

Between me and you,

A connecting,

Deep,

Life-humbing silence that we can always rely on and always rest into.

So let's take a moment to open the shells of our ears,

To drink in the ocean of silence,

To rest back on the waves and the lulling,

Lapping surface of all life that takes us all the way to the horizon and beyond,

Gone beyond the ripples of the farthest shore,

Resting in this stillness,

Relying on the openness and the holding of this deep silence of life.

Good luck.

Resting in the space between the notes,

Gliding through the ocean of life itself.

If there is some movement,

Just some very gentle spiralling,

There is so subtle that no one could see it.

The spiral in the bowl,

In the basin of the pelvis holding the ocean of creativity.

Welcoming all that is,

Welcoming all that you are.

And just seeing if there is sound there,

Maybe just a hum that spirals in the basin at the root of your being.

Like the whales,

Allow that hum to reverberate through the deepest ocean of your being.

Miles and miles through the water,

Through the landscape of magic and transformation.

See if there are some deep tones.

See if there are some deep tones that spiral through the pelvis,

Through what I call the chest voice.

There can be growls and sighs and groans.

You might be meeting things there in your ocean that needs to be moved,

That needs to be touched upon,

That needs to be sung,

That needs to be seen and heard.

Allow those old discovered bones of the resting at the bottom of the ocean to sing themselves like the ancestors that they are.

You still want to continue spiralling,

The waist spiralling the pelvis,

Feeling the deep tones that reverberate and awaken an inner knowing,

An inner acceptance,

An embracing of and a moving through everything that is,

Everything that was,

Everything that must be let go of now,

Everything that is being called through and called in all together in the silt and the swell and the tides and the currents of the ocean of your being.

Allow it to sing through,

Sing through,

Opening shoulders,

Opening neck,

Opening ribs,

Opening hips,

Singing it through.

This is not about what you are,

It's about what you are.

It's not about what you sound,

Trying to sound a certain way,

This is about allowing this voice to move through.

Light glistening on the surface of your water,

Rippling little boats of light.

If you want to move up into the head voice and skim over the delicate spray of the ocean,

Welcoming your head voice,

Welcoming your bird to spread its wings and fly.

Dancing and playing with the waves.

Your head voice doesn't like being pushed so allow her to spiral inwards.

You might be feeling uncomfortable in your low notes or you might be feeling uncomfortable in your high notes,

But it's important to open up and use the whole instrument,

This miracle living instrument that you are.

So if there are places that feel uncomfortable,

Go there,

Swim there,

Be there,

Fly there,

Let the sweet There are places in your body that want to continue moving,

Maybe spreading the wings,

Opening the ribs and the shoulder blades.

Allowing the flotsam and jetsam,

The froth and the sediment and the driftwood of your voice.

The bird to just settle on the water,

Everything to just settle.

The ocean spray to just gently settle to a calm surface.

As you begin to settle,

Allow your voice to continue weaving if it wants to,

But really listening in for the silence in between and behind and beyond.

As your voice sings it herself,

Sings herself back home,

She's wrapped in stillness,

Wrapped in silence.

A silence that is always,

Always,

Always there to catch us.

Behind the thoughts,

The thoughts that come and go.

Silence,

Stillness,

The truth of our existence.

Resting with no opinions,

With no ideas of wrong or right,

Just resting in full love.

Ay ay ay ooooh,

Ay ay ay ay ooooh,

Ay ay ay ooooh.

Ooooh,

Ay ay ay ay,

Ay ay ay.

Ooooh.

Feeling the waves of the breath coming into the body and out of the body.

This moment all that we have right here,

Right now.

This deep,

Deep moment,

Fathoms and fathoms deep and the sweetness of the light rippling through this moment.

We're going to end this meditation with a song called Creatures of the Deep.

Allowing your voice to sing words or not sing words,

Sing the melody I'm singing or sing something completely different.

Ripple through,

Dance around,

Spreading your wings,

Flying above the ocean.

Let us sing together,

Dance together and planting a seed of a prayer for our children,

For the children of this planet,

For the next generation.

This beautiful blue jewel of a planet.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

Painting visions on the horizon,

Waves keep coming,

We keep on dreaming.

Painting visions for our children,

Tides keep turning,

We keep on singing.

Painting visions on the horizon,

Waves keep coming,

We keep on dreaming.

Painting visions for our children,

Tides keep turning,

We keep on singing.

I'm going under to sing with the whales beneath the crashing waves of the beauty of your grace.

I'm going under where freedom can be found.

Singing in the deep blue,

Swimming in your song.

I'm going under to sing with the whales beneath the crashing waves of the beauty of your grace.

I'm going under where freedom can be found.

Singing in the deep blue,

Swimming in your song.

Creatures of the deep.

I,

Creatures of the deep.

I,

I,

The water goes deep and the winds grow strong to carry this love to guide us home.

All the waters go deep and the winds grow strong to carry this love to guide us home.

I,

I,

Creatures of the deep.

I,

I,

The water goes deep and the winds grow strong to carry this love to carry this love to guide us home.

I offer flowers to your waters with petals on the heart.

May you always be protected.

I offer flowers on your ocean altar with petals of forgiveness.

May we all remember.

I offer flowers to your waters with petals on the heart.

May you always be protected.

I offer flowers on your ocean altar with petals of forgiveness.

May we all remember.

These creatures of the deep.

I,

Creatures of the deep.
