Hi,
I'm Susanna Kenton.
This breath snack is dedicated to becoming present.
Such a simple act that at times can seem so challenging.
So I invite you to find a comfortable seated position and close your eyes.
Just arriving in this moment as best you can.
And beginning to watch over your breath.
In breath work we often regulate our breathing one way or another.
But here we're going to do the opposite and simply allow it to do whatever it's doing as if there were nothing to fix or correct.
Watching over the movement of your breath with kindness and curiosity.
Noticing perhaps the subtle expansion and relaxation of your body in different places on your inhalation and on your exhalation.
And turning your attention now to notice the touch of your clothing on your skin in a particular part of your body.
It might be at your collar or maybe your waistband.
Just noticing the sensation.
Now turn your attention to the noises around you.
Activating your sense of hearing as such that on an inhalation you imagine breathing in any sound present.
Just noticing.
And you might begin to notice the subtle qualities of sounds you become sensitive to,
Both near and far away,
With the gentle ebb and flow of your breath.
And with your eyes still closed,
Bring your awareness and curiosity to the space behind your eyelids.
What do you perceive?
Perhaps light or shadow?
Maybe subtle shapes or colors?
Bring your awareness now specifically to the area behind your left eyelid.
And use your breath to feel into this for a moment.
And when you're ready,
Do the same with the area behind your right eyelid.
Do you notice a difference between the two?
Allow your breath to fuel your ability to witness whatever you notice behind your eyes,
No matter how subtle.
And with your attention still on your breath,
Become aware of a place in your body that may feel sore or tight right now.
Perhaps a shoulder,
Your neck,
Or a spot in your back.
As you bring your awareness to this place with compassion,
Notice whether your breathing changes slightly.
Perhaps you find yourself taking a fuller breath.
Can you simply be with the sensation and with your breath here for a moment?
And now turning your hands palms upward,
And feeling into any sensation you notice in them.
Can you direct your breath to listening for aliveness or energy here?
What do you notice?
And now finally offering this experience of awareness and presence to your entire body.
Just recognizing that as you become present to your body and your breath this way,
There is a subtle energetic alignment and grounding that happens naturally.
It's as if your body's cells are recalibrated into harmony and balance,
Reminding you of how effortlessly this can happen.
Giving thanks for the quality of presence and the sweet ebb and flow of the breath guiding us home.
Let's prepare to move into whatever calls us next with greater ease,
Grace,
And presence.
Blessings.
