Welcome to Chats with Susan Burrell.
And that's me.
I help strong,
Capable women who have pockets of self-doubt access their inner wisdom and clarify their own truth.
Chats with Susan Burrell is where we have rich conversations about empowerment,
Radiating your brilliance out into the world and loving yourself more than you would ever have before.
And who doesn't want that?
So let's get started.
Today I want to talk to you about radical empowerment.
Okay.
I'm sure that sounds a little strange,
But in doing my own inner work about my self-empowerment,
I realized that there are places within myself that I don't want to look at,
Places that seem a little dark or murky or maybe even a little scary.
And in order to really live a life that's full and rich and free,
I found that it's important to investigate those spots,
Those dark spots.
And radical empowerment is really about embracing all the parts of yourself,
The good,
The not so good,
The stuff you like,
The stuff you maybe don't like,
And see if you can integrate that.
And what I mean by integrating is putting the pieces together in a way that serves your life,
In a way that helps you to feel good about yourself and get you motivated at the beginning of the day.
And when you go to bed at night,
You feel like you did something worthwhile with your day,
With your time.
And the thing about being empowered from the inside out,
Well,
Let me explain that.
It's important to feel empowered from the inside out.
Many people up until now,
Let's just say,
Have used outside sources to make them feel good about themselves.
I'm talking about your special car or clothes or somebody you're associated with that makes you feel good about yourself,
Whether it's a colleague or a lover.
And yet,
When we are trying to put our empowerment on,
It often becomes a faulty existence in that it's not grounded in any truth.
It's not grounded within who you are.
And I think in my experience,
My journey of learning how to live my empowered life,
It's been about recognizing that we are all these divine sparks,
If you will,
Or emanations of this amazing love and light in the world.
And when we don't feel good about ourselves,
That light dims.
When we are being overshadowed by an external negative factor or even the external idea that,
Well,
If I have enough of this,
If I have enough money,
If I have enough education,
If I have enough boyfriends or girlfriends or whatever it is that's external,
We're not in alignment with the divine spark that we are,
With our inner truth.
And therefore,
It's very hard to access your inner wisdom,
Which we all have.
We all have our own answers that reside within us.
And so when I'm speaking about empowerment,
I'm talking about living your life from the inside out,
From that place of groundedness as much as humanly possible.
Because there's going to be days or even moments during the day where you don't feel so good.
I didn't like that I said that,
Or I'm judging myself,
Or that person's judging me and what am I going to do about it?
That kind of stuff.
But for the most part,
If the practice or the journey becomes the intention to live a life of freedom,
Owning your brilliance and claiming your opulence,
Then there has to be empowerment in that.
And that means there has to be,
Well,
It doesn't have to be,
You don't have to do anything I say.
But in my experience,
From my personal journey,
Because I've lived it,
My journey of finding myself inside and learning how to love myself,
Including a lot of those dark spots or things that I thought I was judging myself for,
Learning to love them and or at least accept them so that I'm not disenfranchising myself from the inside out either.
Because a lot of us do that.
Well,
I'm just not going to address this stuff that I know is lurking in the background of my mind or my heart,
Because I'm going to try and be this really good person.
I think we all want to be good people.
But the thing is,
In my experience,
Not addressing the stuff that I judge myself on or feel ashamed about or guilty or a little bit afraid of,
Of how I react,
Because believe me,
I'm a redhead.
I have reactions and opinions.
But if I'm not addressing that,
Then I'm putting a blanket over it or I'm putting it in a closet.
And eventually that closet gets full to overflowing.
I mean,
How many people have had closets like that where you open the door and you're like,
Oh,
Good God,
I've just got to take everything out and start over.
And that's kind of what building a life from the inside out,
Living a life of empowerment is.
It's building your inner muscle of self-love and self-worth.
And for many women,
That muscle is kind of atrophied or it's built from the outside in.
Well,
I'm a successful CEO,
So therefore I'm empowered,
Except that I don't have a good relationship with my children or my spouse or I don't have any friends.
I've had several people that,
Several women come to work with me that are as clients that have said,
I look really good on the outside.
I show up great,
But I don't have any girlfriends.
I don't have any intimate people that I can be intimate with,
Meaning I can share my soul with.
And I just think that's kind of sad because I think we're all here on the planet to be connected,
Heart to heart,
And to support each other in growing and transforming and changing because that's really what life is.
It's always changed.
That's what Gandhi said and boy was he right.
And as we mature in our lives,
We have life experiences that beat us up and sometimes we just want to be safe and hold onto it.
But because change always happens,
Then it's important,
At least for me,
I'm choosing this for myself,
To really continue to refocus.
When things get a little wonky or when some of those uglies show up within me,
I make a point of taking time with myself to kind of investigate,
Okay,
What is this representing or what was the trigger for this kind of dark side reappearing and what can I do to clarify it or to release it or to integrate it.
Because sometimes our ego or some of those little dark pockets are irritating us,
Annoying us to get our attention,
That there's something we're not facing within ourselves or there's something we're not paying attention to that if we were to pay attention,
Our perspective would shift and we would be able to receive more good,
More opulence,
More brilliance in our lives and be that out in the world.
So radical empowerment for me is really about embracing both sides.
Well,
There's not just two sides to a coin anymore,
People.
We live in a multidimensional world now.
And so to embrace all sides of myself,
That the parts of me that need to be grown more,
The parts that need to be blessed because of what they made me be or helped me to be in my life so I could get to where I was going and end up here,
Parts of me that need to be honored,
You know,
Wow,
I'm not nurturing myself.
I'm running my energy system down.
I'm getting exhausted.
So when I talk about empowerment and radical empowerment,
It's like going beyond what all the self-help gurus have told us,
Really going beyond a mindset into a heart set.
So dropping from the head to the heart because so many of us,
Especially people in business,
Tend to look at the business,
Their business,
From a head game.
It's a head game.
It's a goal,
Setting goals,
Setting intentions,
Learning how to be competitive in the marketplace,
You know,
And all those things.
I work,
I choose,
I am choosing to not live so much from a head space,
Which,
Believe me,
Was great the first half of my life.
It got me plenty of places,
But it never got me to a place of inner fulfillment where I felt that the work that I was doing was getting out into the world and helping people to transform and helping people to grow and think.
And when I started working on myself and becoming more heart-centered,
Meaning loving myself first,
Loving myself more than I ever have in my life,
I saw that it was much easier to make connection with people individually and collectively.
I saw that the gifts that I have began to multiply,
You know,
Which is,
That's what I call your brilliance,
Owning your brilliance.
It's really taking time to investigate within yourself.
What are your talents?
What are your skill sets that not only serve you,
But possibly serve the greater community?
So radical empowerment,
It doesn't require you being perfect,
Miss Goody Two Shoes or anything like that,
But it does ask you in the practice of it to recognize yourself and to recognize that you are valuable,
That you are lovable,
That you are capable and strong.
And when we are in those pockets of self-doubt,
That I think is the last thing.
We don't think of ourselves as lovable.
We don't think of ourselves as productive or embraceable or inspirational.
We just,
We don't when we're in those pockets of self-doubt.
You know,
It's just like you're in a shroud of darkness.
I was on a call with a group of friends and this one woman who I find to be just brilliant at the end of the call,
She said,
Well,
I just,
You know,
I don't feel like I'm participating.
I don't,
I feel like I'm at the end.
I'm bringing up the rear.
And this woman turned on a dime the next day and wrote out the most beautiful script and protocol that she's going to begin to teach.
And it came out of her sitting for a good long 24 hour period,
Possibly in this pocket of self-doubt and figuring out how she was going to get out of it.
And I just,
I adore when we can support each other in recognizing when we are not feeling our full esteem and reminding each other of what is our purpose here and how we can change so we can take ownership,
Not just of our,
Of the stuff we don't necessarily like,
But taking ownership of the stuff that's really good about us.
The stuff that we're brilliant at,
Like whether it's writing or taking care of someone or creating amazing systems that go into marketplaces that help people to be better at what they do,
Whatever it is that our brilliance is.
It's just very important to learn that about ourselves.
And that's,
That's a lot of what I do in living your empowered life journey.
I've created a journey that I intuitively craft for the individual clients,
But the journey is really about learning how to live a life of freedom,
Own your brilliance,
Claim your opulence.
And when we do that,
We gain a deeper courage to be more,
More light,
More love out in the world,
To be of greater service,
To explore creative avenues that we have been afraid to up until now.
And so the live your empowered life journey,
We work to remove energetic blocks.
So it's not just about mental and emotional blocks that a lot of people work on.
It's about if you've lived a life,
There's energy systems that get downloaded in your mind and in your body that begin to create these other kinds of blocks.
And that's one of the things I am intuitively gifted at is helping people remove those energy blocks that go along with the mental and emotional blocks so that they can love themselves more.
And shift their perspective and heal themselves from the inside out so that then you can stand on an inner foundation of the truth of who you are.
So that's what I'm all about.
I invite you to go to SusanBorel.

You can contact me through the website.
I would appreciate that if you've got questions.
If you want to book a session with me,
You can go directly to the website,
SusanBorel.
Com,
And book a session.
And I would really love to hear from you.
So I work with affirmations as well.
So on my journey into empowerment,
A lot of the skills that I developed and used are healing journaling techniques and healing affirmations that I use.
And it wasn't just like journaling to get the schmutz out of your head.
It was journaling with the intention of healing.
And then same with the affirmations.
Affirmations that I use and the way I use them is to intend to heal whatever part of myself,
Whether it's my thinking or my health,
Whatever part of me is not functioning at its optimum,
Which to me is loving myself.
So I have this great book.
It's actually their Oracle cards.
And these are fabulous cards.
I recommend them.
It's called The Sacred Rebels.
And it's by a woman named Alana Fairchild.
And if you haven't worked with Oracle cards,
Contact me through the website.
I'll explain it to you.
But at the end of some of these chapters,
She has affirmations.
So I'm going to read that to you because I think it resonates with me a lot.
And I think that there are many women out there that this would resonate with.
So here it goes.
I now break any contract I have ever made with another,
Consciously or unconsciously,
That has given them power over me,
Over my sense of self,
The authority to approve or reject me or anything about me,
Including my voice,
Body,
Creativity,
Spirituality,
And way of living.
Of my own free will,
I now choose to directly perceive my own inner beauty and turn within with kindness and compassion to see myself through the eyes of unconditional love.
So that's it for Chats with Susan Burrell today.
I hope you enjoyed it.
And I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
And until then,
And so it is,
Namaste.
Well that wraps up our chat for today.
Thanks for joining me.
