Loving Recklessly
I do work on empowerment, and sometimes I myself deal with low self-esteem issues. Many people and women do. We have been taught this through generations and we need to love ourselves and tap into our own empowerment, so jump in with me with this talk about love and empowerment.

Hi.
So we are now in another month of 2021.
We're entering into October.
So now we're in the home stretch as some people might want to think of it.
Thank God we're out of 2021.
And yet there's going to be a 2022 and a 23 and a 24.
So how do we navigate that?
Right?
And this month's theme on we've been written on light leader all year for 2021.
And this month's theme is empower,
Which has been my dealy do like,
You can see my,
My sign back there empowered.
And the reason why feeling empowered or accessing the power within you for me has been so important because so much of my life and I would imagine there's lots of people raising their hands if not,
You will be shortly I think I was not feeling oh so empowered.
My I did not have self esteem.
In fact,
I think most of us that don't walk around,
Or that walk around,
You know,
In the world,
We all have pockets of low self esteem,
You know,
Places where we doubt ourselves where we don't necessarily feel connected to the power within us to our inner confidence,
Our inner love,
Self love,
Self acceptance.
And I know for me,
I spent the beginning part of my life.
I think I've said this before,
But I'm gonna say it again.
When I was,
You know,
In junior high and high school,
I would make lists about things I wanted to improve on about me,
Which is really like things I want to change about myself,
Which is really like looking at making faces right now,
Which is really like looking at myself as the glass half empty,
Right?
I didn't have these things.
I thought these qualities this,
So I needed to do this inner work about that.
Now,
Where did that come from?
That's a story for another day.
But yeah,
Many of us must be carefully taught right not to have self esteem and if our family of origin and many of us our family of origin doesn't have full strong healthy self esteem,
Then the low self esteem or the questioning ourselves gets passed down generation after generation.
And this is true for many ancient wisdoms that teach you are less than and therefore you need a certain someone.
You know,
For men,
Women,
It's you need a man or for men,
It's you need a woman or now,
You know,
You need another man,
I don't know.
But the idea that human beings are fundamentally flawed causes us not to feel empowered.
Now,
Where did that idea come from?
Well,
There is a bunch of ancient scripts,
Ancient books,
Well,
I don't know books that say,
You know,
Adam and Eve and the apple and the serpent and falling off of the you know,
And walking out of and being sent away and cast out and blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah.
So this develops an innate fundamental lack within our consciousness within our human consciousness.
And that lack perpetuates itself,
Right?
Until there's something or someone that says,
No,
You are so much more than that.
And I know for me,
I have throughout my life had so many wonderful,
Amazing friends that have always affirmed to me,
I'm this lovely,
Amazing,
Intelligent person.
But there was a part of me inside that felt fundamentally flawed.
And,
Again,
Where did that come from?
I don't know.
But hence the lists and making the lists and where the lists ever crossed off?
No,
Because underneath all of it was this idea that I was broken.
That I wasn't good enough.
Right.
And I'm speaking,
I know,
I'm speaking to so many people.
But the truth that I've uncovered,
Which is what my work is now,
Is about living an empowered life,
Living a life from your own inner wisdom,
The inner love that you are,
And allowing yourself to accept yourself just the way you are just the way you are.
Now,
That's a that's a daunting task for many people.
And part of what,
In my experience,
Kind of needs to happen is you've got a clear space.
And I talk about this all the time,
You've got to clear,
You got to Marie Kondo,
The negative thinking,
You got to Marie Kondo out the places where you hang on to where you think you're fundamentally flawed,
You got to get rid of it.
And how do you do that?
Well,
You got to get to know yourself.
And in the getting to know yourself.
In my experience,
I found that really,
There wasn't so much dark,
Yucky,
Gooey stuff in there that I thought if I really did that inner excavation,
I would uncover that I would uncover all the stuff that were that made me fundamentally flawed.
Now if you go back through several centuries,
Right?
The idea was that the master like that,
The Roman Empire,
Let's just start there,
We could go further back,
But was in charge of everything.
And they were the elite,
And they were the ones that knew and everybody underneath them was chattel was servants was,
You know,
Not good enough,
The caste society.
And when you come from that kind of a hierarchy,
And I've talked about this before,
On empowering chats when you we have all been living in a higher article,
That word system,
Where there's always top dog,
There's always top gun,
There's always somebody at the top,
And everybody else is less than because if you can't achieve the top,
Then you must be less than except the who wants to stand up there by themselves,
Right?
So in looking investigating,
I'm encouraging you all to do this,
I have a couple of clients that are,
Are starting that,
That work right now of investigating,
How do you how do you get to know yourself?
And how do you get to trust yourself when you haven't?
And how do you get to believe in yourself when you didn't?
So this is all part of empowerment.
And,
And by the way,
I have a really great workbook,
You might as well get it and either do it to close out 2021,
Or open 2022.
It's called live an empowered life a 30 day journey.
And it is I built it to be transformative,
Where you can actually achieve a shift in your consciousness and awakening in your heart and sustain it.
Because you build a spiritual practice of journaling and meditation and working affirmations and,
And really facing the inner garbage that you think exists within you.
And I gotta tell you,
Everyone,
There's nothing wrong.
There's nothing wrong with you.
It's the outer world that has been forming us into this cultural system.
And we're watching it fall apart.
We're watching that it doesn't work anymore.
So I'm going to ask the question,
Who do you want to be?
Who?
Who do you really want to be?
But first,
You got to say,
Who am I?
Who am I,
And you might find that who you are already,
Is who you want to be.
Now,
Wouldn't that be lovely?
That would be easy peasy,
Right?
So the idea of looking within this has been my journey,
For most of 2021,
All my life,
All right,
I'll own it all my life.
But 2021,
I had to really slow down and dive deep within myself,
And begin to see where I was holding myself back,
Where I felt broken,
You know,
I mean,
Everybody talks about you're going to achieve empowerment or self mastery,
Or,
You know,
All the million dollar dilly doos.
And,
Uh,
Really,
Life here on planet Earth is about going back to the well is constantly going back to that inner work,
And looking again,
You know,
Going back and seeing what else have I not seen before,
Because as evolving beings,
Sometimes there's only so much we can take,
Right?
Sometimes,
When we follow that yellow brick road,
You know,
You think that you're going to see the big amazing Oz,
But sometimes when you look behind the curtain,
You can see that you were okay,
All along just the way you were you had a heart,
You had a brain,
You had a home,
You had courage.
But in order to find that within yourself,
You have to use courage,
And open your heart,
And allow that brain that wants to figure things out to just soften.
So you can really hear where home is within you.
Because we all reside within that heart system.
That is the place where source energy spirit,
The universe,
God,
Allah,
Whatever you want to call it,
Resides,
And it's a dynamic living energy that constantly is renewing itself.
So So here's what I'm going to suggest for a way to find your own personal empowerment,
Maybe a different way that you haven't looked at.
In order for something to come in,
You have to let something go.
Okay,
Let me say it again.
In order for something to come in,
You have to let something go right.
Like you're you say you're gonna you are gonna get a new roommate,
While the old roommate has to go,
Right.
And then the new roommate has to be able to clear their space to find where they can coexist with you.
Right.
It's a it's so it's a,
It's an emptying out and emptying out of all the well,
Not all but as much of the negative thought processes,
The,
The negative teachings you were taught the things that are keeping you feeling stuck,
Broken,
Not enough,
Clearing that out as much so that good so that love so that esteem can continue to circulate in because I'll tell you it's always circulating the highest principles,
Values are always circulating in circulating to us,
And around us and through us because that's what spirit is and really fundamentally it's love.
It's love.
So 2022 I've already been interviewing some really,
Really wonderful authors and one author Dr.
Ja Gottlieb we were having a conversation I'm not going to tell you the name of the book you're gonna have to watch for the podcast when it's released.
But we were talking about wholeness.
And he said to me,
He said,
You know,
Wholeness is not achieved through subtraction.
Okay,
So this is going back to me writing down all the things I didn't like about myself are all the things I thought I should improve.
But what that was s in essence doing was earmarking things that I thought needed to be taken away,
Distracted.
And wholeness really is embracing all of it.
And I'm not even just talking about the shadow side.
Everybody's talking about the shadow side.
Yes,
Embrace your shadow side.
But there's parts of your ego that we still kind of need that that help you discern help you understand who you are by.
Okay,
So my ego likes to judge a lot.
Oh my god,
What is she wearing that for?
Why did she walk out of the house with that thing on?
Okay.
But what that does is it gives me opportunity to bump up against that reflective energy system,
A mirror where I see how I'm judging myself,
It gives me opportunity to learn and grow about myself.
Did you hear what I said?
So the ego does give us opportunities to learn and grow about ourselves.
And then you've got to empty it out,
You've got to let it go,
You've got to take your hands off,
And just allow spirit to flow through you.
And nine times out of 10.
In my experience,
Everybody that that love that wisdom,
That creativity is empowerment.
When it flows in,
And clears out other stuff,
You are empowered until the next time you empty out and then you're wandering around going,
Wait,
Where's where's the wall?
Where am I?
Until it fills up again.
And that's just the way life is.
That's that that's part of the circulation of energy,
The circulation of love.
So to feel empowered.
Yeah,
I think that's important.
And for this upcoming,
As we see the end of this year 2021 coming to a close,
And we move into 2022,
Those are power numbers,
Everybody to to to it's important that we really stay focused on the truth of our being,
That we are light,
That we are love,
That we are infinite spirit,
Always in a place of dynamic growth,
And expanding consciousness,
Expanding our consciousness.
And we do this individually.
And no two consciousnesses individually are the same.
So it's important that we all work together,
Supporting each other in this expansion of consciousness,
This expansion of love,
Because together,
We're more empowered than alone.
Together,
We're more empowered than alone.
So I came across a poem by Rumi,
He's a Sufi mystic that wrote Oh,
Several centuries ago.
And,
And I've read this before.
And it always kind of stops me because it's,
It's,
It's not a well,
I guess it's a paradox,
And might create a conundrum within you,
But it kind of speaks truth to what we're experiencing right now.
And that,
While we want things to be good and pretty and bright and shiny,
And easy.
Sometimes they're not.
So I'm just gonna take a sip of my coffee.
So this is a poem by Rumi.
Love is reckless,
Not reason.
Reason seeks benefit.
Love comes on strong,
Consuming herself unabashed.
Yet in the midst of suffering,
Love proceeds like a millstone.
Hard surfaced and straightforward.
Having died to self interest,
She risks everything and asks for nothing.
Love gambles away every gift God bestows.
Okay,
So you might have to rewind and play that a few more times to kind of get the gist.
But to me,
When what it says to me is that in order to love fully,
To be fully awake,
And conscious,
You've got to love without strings without conditions.
Oh my god,
I'm gonna say it,
You gotta love unconditionally.
That's a challenge,
Right?
But not only loving others,
Loving yourself,
And not because you're looking for profit,
Not because you're loving so that you can see what's in it for you.
But loving until you have have emptied yourself out.
So that the infinite so that the greater good can come back in and fill you up again.
And fill you up again,
And fill you up again.
And so in that reckless loving of everything,
It says,
She squanders all the gifts God has bestowed.
Now,
What that really means is that as you love unabashedly,
And I'm not just talking physical love,
And oh,
Man,
I have a crush on that guy.
I'm talking loving the people that you're judging as you're walking around,
Loving them anyway.
Loving yourself anyway,
As you love recklessly,
Then you are giving you're giving the gifts,
The inner wisdom,
The inner creativity and courage and sustainability that source energy supplies you in every breath,
You give that away.
And there are so many people out there that are in need of it,
Not because they're they're necessarily homeless or jobless,
But because maybe they just don't know because they're so busy thinking reason is what's their their truth,
Worshipping profit and reason and we as we have seen over the last couple years that that whole system is,
Is broken.
That's the broken system.
And in loving yourself,
And giving out as much as you can,
Until you feel completely empty,
Not exhausted,
Not exhausted.
Believe me,
I do that.
And it doesn't get you anywhere.
But loving from a heart full and heart open.
Loving until you feel empty,
That that's the gifts,
Right?
That's giving more gifts than it is holding all the gifts that you think you've gotten,
Right?
You know,
Oh,
I got this nice house or this nice car,
This great husband.
But then to love more.
And this is for anybody,
Anybody can do this.
And anybody,
Everybody needs it.
And I'm investigating that for myself.
You know,
I don't I don't talk about things that I am not attempting myself.
I,
I believe me I do the inner work,
So that I can learn and grow consciously.
And then it's my great joy,
My love.
Oh,
I didn't think I was gonna cry.
Here we go again,
To share it to whomever has ears to hear and eyes to see,
Because we are at an amazing point in time.
And being empowered,
Feeling empower,
In power,
And power empathic,
Right?
That is what's going to get us all through the rest of this 20s decade.
And it's important to practice it now and practice it by starting with yourself,
Loving yourself,
Accepting yourself,
And all the stuff without subtraction,
Just make it whole,
Make yourself whole.
Well,
The truth is you're already whole to see yourself that way.
Your wholeness was never diminished.
Your light has never dimmed.
It never has.
It's just a matter of seeing it within yourself and saying,
Oh,
There I am.
There I am.
So loving recklessly,
Yourself first,
And then others,
Giving all the gifts that you can give through that energetic system of love.
See what happens.
I can't wait to see.
So that's our talk.
That's our chat.
Yeah.
Go to susanburrell.
Com if you're curious about more.
Until next time.
And so it is namaste.
