And we're gonna do the yoga nidra really in any shape that you want to.

So traditionally,

It will be done lying on your back,

Lying on your back,

Either with your legs straight or your knees bent.

But if you prefer,

You could lie on your side,

You could lie on your front.

You could certainly for some people for their lower back,

It feels much nicer to have some support behind your knees or your lower back.

So the first lying shape that we came into,

So I would say something soft behind your head,

Cushion or a pillow.

And then you might put a bolster or the pillows again behind your knees.

Just to have a little bend in your knees that might feel nice in your lower back.

Or you might simply put your feet on the floor.

And you might have more of a bend and you might let your knees come together.

And that might feel nice.

Or you might let your legs straighten.

And you might have your hands away from your body.

You might have your hands on your body.

It's definitely really nice to put a blanket over you to have something to cover you.

So again,

It could be from head to toe.

And again,

If you want something covering your eyes using the eye pillow or the cloth to cover your eyes.

But again,

The choice is yours.

And you might not like that you might prefer just to close the eyes,

You might not want the blanket over you,

Might be far too warm,

Or it might just not feel right to you.

But covering and having that layer,

That little heaviness can feel really nice.

Sometimes putting the hands there,

Sometimes the hands by the side feels better.

So it just wants to be comfortable for you.

There isn't a right or wrong way to do it.

If you prefer lying on your side,

You can lie on your side.

If you prefer to be in a different shape that you just know works better in your body that you find really comfortable,

Then please take that choice instead.

So just a comfortable place where you can release all effort from your body is what we're looking for.

Letting yourself settle,

Taking your time to do that.

Thinking about comfort,

Thinking about ease,

Just allowing the body to have this time for this guided relaxation.

So letting yourself just let your body rest,

Enjoying this ease and stillness.

And all you need to do is to be able to hear my voice,

Just to be able to listen.

So nothing that you need to see,

Doesn't matter.

You can see your screen,

Just letting yourself listen and letting yourself just drop into this final part of our practice this evening.

And this is a yoga nidra celebrating the solstice,

Just to welcome the light of who you are.

And again,

As you rest here,

If you happen to fall asleep,

That's okay,

Let that happen.

Just allowing yourself to really rest here.

So it's a few little noise of these chimes that you can just hear now.

These will be the chimes that you'll hear again at the end of the practice,

Where you have the option to come out of the practice or to stay resting.

So that's the noise for the end of the practice,

Just this easy chimes.

Just letting yourself settle into this stillness now to enjoy this final part.

Giving yourself this time and space to rest at this beautiful time of year,

This midsummer,

The summer solstice,

Height of the vibrancy of the gardens and spaces around us.

The birds singing with such joy.

I can hear them right now outside my window.

The buttercups in blue,

The yellow,

The gold,

Beautiful,

Lush,

Verdant green all around us.

Poppies and peonies,

Swifts flying in the evening sky.

So much expanse,

So much of nature blooming and bursting all around us in the world.

And as we rest here now,

Knowing that we are all lying,

All connected,

Lying on the same earth,

Lying under the same sky,

The same sun.

And so this time of year,

The summer solstice,

Midsummer is so expansive,

So joyful.

And just knowing you have this full permission just to rest in this yoga nidra,

This relaxation,

To do this in your own way,

That you're welcome just to rest and have this time for yourself,

To honor this expansiveness,

This lightness of this time of year.

And the intention of this yoga nidra is to welcome the light of who you are.

You might have your own intention for the practice,

Something you want to gain from this time,

This relaxation.

You might reflect on that now.

You might let your eyes close and soften if they're not already.

You might notice just the temperature of your body and your face too as they rest.

You might notice your face feels cooler or warmer than your body,

Just having an awareness.

Maybe there's a stillness in the space that you're in.

Maybe there's a breeze coming in from a fan or an open window.

Maybe you can notice the texture,

Softness of your clothes or a blanket or a pillow.

Maybe you can feel textures beneath you and above you or all around you.

Just being aware of your body and the textures surrounding you as you rest here now.

And just allowing,

Could you allow yourself to be fully received by the earth?

Could you allow yourself to really fully rest now?

Maybe allow yourself to soften,

To be cradled in the place that you're lying in,

Being rested,

Just allowing your body and your mind to relax and find this ease.

So having this time,

Letting yourself feel held by the earth beneath you.

And could you perhaps imagine it's possible to breathe in a sense of a lightness and an expansiveness through your skin?

Could you take in that lightness with the breath through the skin?

So could you breathe in the light,

The lightness through your right arm as if that could illuminate your right arm and hand as you lie here?

Could you breathe in now through your left arm,

Through the whole of the skin from your fingertips to your left shoulder?

Could you breathe in the light through the front of your body?

Could you breathe in the light through the back of your body?

Could you breathe in the light through the skin,

Through your scalp and your face,

Illuminating the whole of your head?

Could you breathe in light through your legs and your feet?

Could you bring this light to shine on a sense of balance and to illuminate the bliss that is held within you?

Could it light up a sense of contentment and wonder perhaps?

Could it light up within you joy and love?

Could it light up strength and confidence?

Could you have this time to rest and relax now?

And we're going to journey now through the body,

Inviting relaxation to permeate the whole of your body from head to toe,

Inviting the summer sunshine to the skin to relax and soften as it travels through you and over you.

So could you bring an awareness,

Imagining just some warm sunshine shining onto your forehead,

Onto your forehead and that space between your eyebrows,

Allowing it to soften and release as the sunlight shines down.

And could you feel sunlight moving down across your eyelids,

Washing down your nose,

To the tip of your nose,

The sunshine warms it.

And then maybe there's a warming sunshine on your left cheek and the skin on your right cheek,

A warming,

A softening across your lips to the tip of your chin and allowing that sunlight to travel down your throat,

To release and relax down your throat,

Settling that sunlight,

That warming to your collarbones and the little dip between your collarbones,

A pool of sunlight there.

And then the warm light sliding across to your right shoulder and that light,

That sunlight bathes down your right arm,

The upper arm to the right elbow,

Down the lower arm,

Down to your right wrist,

Into the right palm of your hand,

Like a pool of warm golden sunlight to the tips of the fingers,

Of your little finger and your ring finger,

To the middle finger,

To the first finger,

To the tip of the thumb,

Whole of the right hand and arm glowing with the sunlight,

Relaxed and at ease.

And then letting your awareness travel to your left shoulder and traveling down,

Warming your left arm,

The upper arm to the elbow,

Warming as the light and the sunlight bathes down your lower left arm to your left wrist and pools in the palm of the left hand,

Traveling down to warm in a soft glow,

All the way down your little finger to your ring finger,

Your middle finger,

Your first finger and all the way to the tip of your left thumb.

And then traveling down again from the collarbones and the little pooling in the space between your collarbones,

The sunlight continues to permeate down across your chest,

Softening and relaxing around your heart space and down over your tummy,

Down the sides of your ribs,

A softness,

A warmth,

Illuminating and warming over your tummy and down into your hips and your pelvis,

This warm seizing light,

Traveling down slowly from the right tip and down the right leg.

So the front of your right thigh bathed in warm sunlight,

Your right knee and then round and down the front of the right leg,

The shin,

The front of your right ankle,

Soft,

The sun waking up all the little bones and ligaments softly through the top of the right foot,

Right down to the big toe,

Tip of the big toe,

Tip of the second toe,

The third toe,

The fourth toe and the tip of the little toe on the right foot.

And then traveling over the sole of the right foot from the toes to the heel,

A softness,

A warm glow through your whole of your right foot and then up the heel and up the back of the right leg,

The calf muscle bathed in sunlight and warmth and ease,

Back of your right knee,

Back of your right thigh to the right hip and then coming down the front from the left hip of the front thigh to the left thigh,

Soft and bathed in warm sunlight,

The left kneecap glowing,

Soothing through this warm sunlight that then travels all the way down the front of the left lower leg into your ankle and across the top of your left foot,

Down to the big toe,

To the very tip,

Sunshine down the second toe to the very tip and to the tip of the third toe and the fourth toe and right to the tip of the baby toe on the left foot,

Soft and warm,

Bathed in sunlight as that sunlight and that warmth and ease travels down to the sole of the foot from the pads of the toes to the heel and then up the back of the left ankle to the left calf,

Soft and washed in golden sunlight,

Pooling in the back of the left knee,

This soft light moves up the back of the left thigh to the back of the left side of your pelvis,

All around the back of your pelvis,

Now your sacrum area,

Just bathed in this warm light,

This soft sunlight,

This relaxation travels all the way up the back of your body,

Up the spine,

Vertebrae by vertebrae,

Being lit up with this soft warm light,

Between the ribs on the back of the body,

A softness,

This warm glow traveling up between the shoulder blades,

The left shoulder blade and the right shoulder blade,

A softness,

A warmth,

Right up the vertebrae,

Up the back of your neck,

Inviting a softness there and right to the back of your skull,

Right up to the top and the crown of your head,

All the way back across the forehead into the space between the eyebrows where we started,

The whole of your body filled with light and ease,

The whole of the body lightly glowing with this warm golden summer sunshine,

The whole of the body from head to toe,

Feeling relaxed and at ease,

Resting here,

The whole of the right side,

From the right side of the head and the face,

The right shoulder,

The right arm and hand,

All the way down the right torso,

The right leg and foot,

Letting that side of your body feel spacious and warm,

Relaxed and bathed in warm light,

And then let your awareness travel to the left side of your body,

On the left side of your head and your face,

Your left eyelids,

Your left shoulder and arm,

Your left hand and fingers and thumb,

All the way down the left side of the body,

The left hip,

The left leg and knee,

All the way down to the left ankle and foot,

The tips of the toes on the left side now,

Bathed in this soft warm light,

And then the whole of the body again,

Bringing your awareness to the whole left and right side together,

From head to toe,

Bathed in warm soft light,

This relaxation and softness and ease,

The whole of your being full of light,

Soft energy,

As if you're beaming your light within your body,

Resting here,

And could you have a sense that as you inhale,

You could let that light that's within you,

That soft warm light,

Could it expand outwards,

Beaming beyond the parameters of your skin and out a little into the world,

And as you exhale,

Could you bring that sense of light,

And as you exhale,

Could you bring that sense of light,

That light of your being,

Coming to rest into the core of your body,

Into your very centre,

Your heart space,

As you rest in your own light.

So as you inhale,

As this feeling of expansion,

And maybe that light,

Your light expands out a little from your edges,

Or maybe a lot,

Maybe far,

Far away,

Further you can even see,

And as you exhale,

It just draws back in right to your centre,

Right within you,

Deep into your bones and your core,

Just exploring the possibility of shining your light out into the world,

Just as far as it feels right for you to do,

With your breath,

Inhaling that expansion,

Exhaling,

Drawing that light and your awareness into your core,

Into the centre of your heart,

And then just letting that go,

And just imagining you could let the light drift,

Let the warm soft light,

The sunlight,

The warmth of your heart space,

The warmth and the light of your own being,

Just come to any place that you need to illuminate,

That you need to soften or to release,

That you want to invite in a sense of lightness,

A sense of calmness and ease,

A sense of joy and ease,

Letting your light shine wherever you need to,

Within your own body,

To fill yourself up,

And just taking some breaths,

Sending that light and that love to any part or all parts of your body,

Wherever you sense you need it and would benefit from it.

And you might want to send some of that light to some of that energy,

That feeling to someone else in your life,

You might want to allow that to be sent to them now as you breathe,

And you can do that now if you want to,

Or you can just stay with that gentle focus,

Celebrating the light of all that you are in this moment,

Whatever you would prefer to do,

Just letting yourself rest here,

Having this time.

You might shine your light on joy or wonder,

On bliss or balance,

On love or contentedness,

Just filling yourself up with whatever it is that you need.

And as you start to hear those chimes that I mentioned at the beginning,

Then you might make the choice just to stay as you are,

Resting,

Staying bathed in that light,

Those feelings that you want to welcome in,

And that's absolutely fine to do.

Or you might want to make the choice and the decision to come to find the end of the practice and to ease yourself out of the practice.

The choice is up to you to stay as you are,

To stay resting,

Or to ease yourself from the practice if you would prefer to.

So if you're wanting to stay resting,

Then simply ignore these words,

Let them flow over you and by you and ignore them and stay as you are.

If you want to transition from the practice now,

Then you might just simply let your awareness come back to notice your breathing,

Being aware of your breath in the moment as it flows in and out.

And you might just connect back in with your body as it lays resting against the surface.

You're resting on against the earth that is holding you beneath the blue sky,

Beneath the sun that is still shining,

But just have an awareness slowly back into your body,

Feeling into your body.

Maybe that little bit of movement comes in,

A light,

Vibrant,

Soft movement,

Like a wrinkle of the fingers,

Slowly feeling.

Maybe you expand the fingers open and then close them in again a few times.

Maybe you just wrinkle them,

Maybe wrinkle the toes,

Feeling into the toes,

The spaces between the toes.

Maybe it turns into a stretch,

Maybe you reach away,

Maybe you take a fuller breath to allow the energy and oxygen to be a bit more expansive and lighter.

So just allowing yourself to travel back into your body,

Into the moment,

Into your space that you're resting in without any rush or hurry.

And you might want to stay resting,

Lying down,

That's absolutely fine.

You might want to transition back to seated in a slow and kind way and your choice to do that if you want to.

So you might roll to your side and then you might use your arms to support you to come back to seated,

But again there's no rush and also there's no need to do that.

You can just finish the practice if you are finishing it now,

Lying down,

No need to move.

Whatever works for you,

This is your time,

Savoring that,

Enjoying that.

And if you're closing your practice now,

You might just want to take a few breaths,

Whether sitting or lying down,

Just to notice how you're doing,

Just to be present,

Just to take this time,

Just to be aware,

To check in with yourself at the end of the practice and just to thank yourself for carving out some time and space to pause,

To rest,

To reflect.

So just taking that moment,

Doing
