Transcript
Good evening and welcome to this guided meditation.
I'm honoured for the opportunity to support and guide you through this deep sleep meditation.
We will begin the process with a range of affirmations for deep gratitude and offer ourselves unconditional self-love as we give our physical body permission to let go and fully relax.
The music will continue to play for some time after the guided meditation comes to a close to give your subconscious mind love and support and the acknowledgement that you are not alone.
Each day our mind processes tens of thousands of thoughts often triggering stresses that build throughout the day.
It may leave your body and mind in a state of unease by the time you go to bed.
This meditation will help you gently wind down your mind and your physical body allowing you to relax on a deeper level and enabling your mind and body to fall into a deeper more rejuvenated sleep.
Sleep is a natural process for all living creatures and quality sleep will reward your daily life with a greater feeling of well-being.
Truly letting go and allowing your body to rejuvenate will result in a greater feeling of vitality and joy.
As you lay quietly with your eyes closed feel your body sink deeply into the mattress.
Feel your head fall closely into the pillow.
Feel the warmth and the coziness.
You are safe.
Let's begin with four deep breaths.
Inhaling oxygen deep into your lungs,
Feeling your belly expand before slowly exhaling,
Taking slightly longer with the outward breath.
After four deep breaths just come back to your natural state of breathing.
I now invite you to honor and show gratitude towards your body for all the wonderful work it has done to love,
Support and protect you throughout the day.
Let's begin at the top.
I invite you to take a moment to thank your mind for all that it has done for you,
For making many decisions throughout the day,
Many of which may not have been easy but which were chosen to serve you in different ways.
Your mind will work in a way to make decisions in order to love you,
Protect you,
Keep it from harm or to provide joy and happiness.
Take a moment to thank your mind for showing self-care throughout the day,
Right up until and including this very moment.
How has your mind served you well today?
Let's now give our mind permission to slow down,
To stop the chatter and the need to make decisions.
Give the opportunity to just be in the moment.
Allow your mind to just let go and relax and to think about nothing outside of this meditation.
Thank your eyes for all the beauty they have drawn in today.
They may have allowed you to see a magnificent sunrise,
A flower blooming,
Cloud formations in the sky or simply the warmth of a friendly smile.
Let's take a moment to appreciate a few of the wonderful sights your eyes have drawn in today.
Let's now honour your eyes for the love they have shown today by giving them permission to fully relax.
Feel any tension release from your eyes and eyebrows.
Your eyes will thank you by rejuvenating overnight,
Ready to lovingly serve you again tomorrow.
Let's now give thanks to your mouth for serving you today.
Your mouth lovingly nourished your body with food and water.
It allowed you to converse with others,
To relay your thoughts and feelings.
Your mouth smiled,
Showing the people around you that they bring you love and joy.
Your smiling turn brought a sense of love and joy to their lives too.
Let's take a moment to appreciate how well your mouth served you today.
Let's now show gratitude towards your mouth by giving permission to fully relax.
You may wish to start by stretching your jaw open wide and then relaxing and feeling the tension release.
Feel your lips soften,
Allow your tongue to gently release from the whiff of your mouth.
Feel your body drifting deeper and deeper to a relaxed state of being.
Your muscles relaxing as you drift peacefully into sleep.
Let's thank your shoulders for the support they have offered.
They may have taken a physical load,
Carrying heavy items,
Maybe lifting weights,
Or perhaps a handbag strapped over the shoulder.
Your shoulders are now ready to be lifted.
Honor your shoulders by giving them permission to fully relax.
As you gently breathe in and out,
Feel the tension release.
Let your shoulders release,
Allow your tongue to fully relax.
As you gently breathe in and out,
Feel the tension melt away with each exhale.
Feel your body becoming heavier,
Falling deeper and deeper into the mattress,
Allowing your body to fully relax.
Let's appreciate our arms and our hands for the role they played today,
Working together to prepare and feed you food that nourished you.
They allowed you to give and to receive,
To move things as desired.
Let's take a moment to show gratitude for your arms and your hands,
And thank them for the role they played in your life today.
Now relax every muscle in your arms and hands,
Feeling the tension release in your upper arms,
Your elbows,
Forearms,
And your hands.
Gently wriggle your fingers and release any tension,
Just allow every muscle and fibre in your body to relax.
Let's remember the role that our legs and feet played today,
They helped us to step out of bed in the morning,
And took us everywhere we wanted to go throughout the day.
They lovingly carried the weight of our whole body.
Let's honour our legs and feet by gently tensing them like a warm and loving bear hug,
And then releasing our muscles,
Gently wriggling our toes,
And allowing them to fully relax.
Allow your unconscious mind to gently go deeper and deeper,
To a state of calmness and tranquility,
Body releasing any tension,
Making room for healing energy to flow.
Let's relax.
Let the sensation as your body naturally lets go and drifts deeper and deeper into sleep.
