It's that time again.
Let's spend these next few minutes to de-escalate Christmas season anxiety or stress,
Whether family strain or grief pain or the pressures of doing it all.
We feel it in body and we feel it in mind,
But we will not fall.
Ground here first with breath to start.
On my count,
Inhale for three,
Exhale for four,
Beginning now.
Inhale three,
Two,
One.
Exhale four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale three,
Two,
One.
Then exhale deeply at your count.
Release the breath.
Just as these feelings are temporary and will pass,
So too will these holidays pass.
A lesson from Frosty reminding us that all things are impermanent.
And so we take and we make mindful time for simple joys.
A simple breath,
Inhaling and exhaling.
The art of a single snowflake,
The extra spice in a warm drink,
A memory of Christmas love.
Slowly quieting the holiday noise and coming back to self.
Warm and comforting breath.
Loosen your shoulders.
Feel the neck release.
Unclench the jaw.
Release your hands to be soft.
Come back to your body.
I am creating a new tradition today.
To toss my worries onto Santa's sleigh and watch them fly away.
You can create a new tradition today.
Breathe.
There is nothing more important than mental,
Spiritual,
And physical health.
To love and be loved.
It is the true source of Christmas wealth.
To love and be loved.
Rudolph found his way in the dark of night,
Reminding us that even the tiniest of light is the hope we need to pass through this holiday mess.
Sensitive grief or Christmas stress.
And you will breathe through this.
Noting your inhale and exhale.
You will breathe through this.
Merry Christmas and a hope-filled New Year to you.
