Recorded on February 18, 2024 on Insight Timer, this breathwork experience guides you through a process of relaxation, release, and connection with the source of all Creation (no big deal!). The practice is a simple three part breath that you'll do lying down with your eyes closed, breathing into the belly, then into the chest, then exhaling. The invitation with these sessions is always to be gentle with yourself, take breaks whenever that feels right, and allow yourself to accept each aspect of the experience as it arises. Enjoy!

Hi there,

And welcome to this guided breathwork practice that was recorded live here on Insight Timer on February 18th,

2024.

As always,

The invitation with this practice is to follow your intuition around how vigorously or lightly or deeply to breathe,

And the breathing pattern we're working with is a simple three-part breath.

You'll be breathing all through the mouth,

And you'll begin by breathing into the belly,

Then into the chest,

And then releasing.

So again,

Two inhales,

One into the belly,

One into the chest,

And then release.

And I recommend doing this lying down with your eyes closed,

Both because it's easier to breathe into the belly that way,

And also because you will get incredibly dizzy if you do it sitting up.

And so with that,

Thank you so much for being here.

I look forward to sharing this one with you.

Have a beautiful practice.

And as always,

A gentle reminder as we move into the practice,

It is safe for me to be in my body,

And it is safe for me to let spirit drive.

It is safe for me to let spirit drive.

All right,

One more time,

Nice slow breath in,

And release it.

And you can go ahead and start the breathing really gently all through the mouth.

So belly,

Chest,

And exhale.

And as always,

These first few minutes are really your chance to find your relationship with the breath in this space that is unlike any other space that has existed before,

And any space that has existed or will exist in the future.

So even here at the start,

As you breathe,

Belly,

Chest,

And exhale,

Just inviting in that recognition that each breath is unique.

This breath has never existed before.

This one hasn't either.

So each breath truly is an opportunity to create and co-create with the great mystery,

The elemental energies of creation in life.

Belly,

Chest,

And you know if your mind is busy,

See how much of your attention you can just really gently bring to the breath.

Even thinking the word inhale,

Inhale,

And release.

Inhale,

Release.

Some of you may be breathing a little bit faster or deeper,

Slower,

Whatever is right for you.

You can trust the space,

Trust your body to find the right rhythm,

The right depth.

Belly,

Chest,

Release.

And if you want to,

You can take in just a little more oxygen into the belly,

Just letting it open,

Letting it inflate.

Belly,

Chest,

Release.

Just stay with the breath.

If you chose to breathe a little bit more vigorously,

You're probably getting a little dizzy by now.

Just keep breathing.

And if you want to,

You can just gently invite the breath a little bit more deeply into the belly,

Like two inches behind the belly button and two inches below.

Or as close to that as you can get comfortably,

Remembering we never need to force anything in this space.

Everything is an invitation.

So even the breath,

The inhales,

We can make those an invitation to spirit,

To vital energy,

To co-create with ourselves,

With our hearts and our muscles.

So just adding a little,

Like,

Sprinkle of invitation to the inhale.

It's not just oxygen,

It's spirit.

And if you want to,

You can just gently invite the breath a little bit more deeply into the belly.

And if you want to,

You can just gently invite the breath a little bit more deeply into the inhale.

It's not just oxygen,

It's spirit.

Welcoming the awareness that this breath,

This energy,

Has been on this planet since the beginning of creation,

In one form or another,

As water,

As carbon dioxide,

As animal,

As element.

This energy,

This breath,

Carries deep experience,

Deep wisdom.

It has been a part of the fabric that weaves the universes together.

And now it's visiting us,

It's spending time with us.

Stay with the breath.

How amazing that our fundamental biological function,

20,

000 times a day,

Weaves us back into creation.

Stay with the breath.

And some of you may be feeling,

Like,

Some tingling in the body.

You can just notice that and just keep breathing.

You may notice,

As we move through this,

That you get a little warm or a little cold.

You can just notice and go,

Oh,

That's interesting,

And just keep breathing.

I'll invite you to take a moment to notice the quality of your exhales.

If you find that they're elongated or maybe even suspended,

As an exploration,

See what happens if you let it go.

Just notice what your experience of that is.

And there's a kind of permission coming up that we can give ourselves and to each other.

And it's simply,

I give myself permission to let go.

I give my body permission to let go of anything that no longer serves.

I give my body permission to let go of anything that no longer serves.

No longer serves me,

My community,

The world.

We don't even have to know what it is we're giving ourselves permission to let go of.

Often simply by giving permission,

That process of letting go begins.

You can keep breathing.

Release.

Release.

And there's a really beautiful image we can just kind of invite in,

Of the breath guiding us,

Taking us deeper into beautiful,

Calm,

Deep,

Deep waters of consciousness and of life.

And so as you continue breathing,

You can notice just with a lot of love and compassion anywhere in your body that's experiencing tension.

Maybe your shoulders or lower back or hips or head,

Feet.

And acknowledge that the more of that tension we allow just to release,

Then the deeper into those beautiful,

Warm,

Safe waters we may be able to explore.

And you'll just be breathing for about six more minutes,

So stay with it.

And there's another invitation kind of bubbling up from those waters,

Just to see as you breathe,

Wherever you're at,

Whatever else is going on,

Just see if you can connect with a moment,

Even if it was incredibly fleeting,

That you experienced the feeling of freedom,

The feeling of lightness.

Maybe you were a child,

Kind of spinning in circles as children do.

Maybe you were swimming or climbing a tree.

In a moment,

You just experienced freedom.

This can be a challenging one to work with,

So if nothing comes up immediately,

Just be patient,

Keep breathing.

And just breathe with that invitation.

And as you continue breathing,

Be patient,

Keep breathing.

And just breathe with that energy of unburdened,

Free flow.

And allow it to kind of move through your body and move through this circle,

So that anyone who may have trouble connecting with that sense of freedom is able,

There you go,

To kind of catch the wave and allow ourselves to be moved by it.

Belly,

Chest,

Release.

And you'll just be breathing for a few more minutes.

And you can,

If you want to,

Begin to allow the breath to take over,

So that we are not breathing,

We are being breathed.

We're being created and recreated with each breath.

So nothing that has happened up until this moment writes the future.

I give myself permission to author the future.

I give myself permission to be rewritten by spirit,

By breath,

By connection,

By love.

And as we move into the last few minutes of this part of the practice,

I'll just invite you to allow the breath to come a little bit more really,

Really softly into the heart.

Really letting the chest expand,

Letting the shoulders and the back find a little bit more spaciousness.

And as you just allow the heart to expand,

If you want to,

And you're able to,

You can just gently take your hands and hold them right above your heart,

But palms facing each other,

Not touching,

Just facing each other.

And you may be able to sense or feel kind of an energy between your palms.

And it may be pulsing.

It may feel like your palms are being drawn closer together or pushed apart.

So this energy is yours.

This energy lives in your cells,

In your heart.

It's the same energy that pulses at the center of the universe.

That moves through the trees and the waves and the clouds and the deer and the wolves.

This is just your unique version of it.

And so if you want to,

You can slowly turn your palms outwards so they're facing away from your chest and just allow that energy to dance and swirl out into the universe,

Into our circle.

So that our whole circle is filled with dancing energy.

Emanating from each of us and connecting us with the heart of all that is.

Just a couple more breaths.

A couple more breaths.

And when you're ready,

Whenever it feels right,

You can just gently transition to a resting breath.

And that is just a single inhale into the belly and then release.

So the work is over.

If your hands are still up,

You can place them down by your sides,

Palms facing upwards.

And these next few minutes are really your chance to receive and settle and integrate.

And as you allow your body to get heavier on the surface of the earth,

Maybe even imagining that there's a beautiful blanket that settles over you.

It's woven of that energy of heart and gravity and creativity,

Co-creation.

I'll just invite you on a little journey and if you want to follow along,

You can.

And if you just want to let the words and the tone and the music wash over you,

That's also great.

And I'll just invite you to imagine that you are standing in front of a beautiful temple.

However,

This temple may appear to you,

But really allow yourself to notice it.

And notice where it is.

Is it in a void,

In a jungle,

On a mountain?

Notice the space around you.

In a void,

In a jungle,

On a mountain.

Notice,

You can even reach out your hands and touch it.

Is this temple warm or cold?

Made of stone,

Of wood,

Brick.

Maybe it's made of energy.

Whatever it's made out of,

This temple is pulsing with a really beautiful,

Powerful,

Very safe,

Very inviting energy.

And it is a temple of creation,

Kind of a portal to the beginning of the universe.

When everything was infinite potential.

So when you're ready,

You can gently place your hands against the door to this temple and either push or pull.

And the door will open really smoothly.

And you can step inside,

Feeling the texture beneath your feet change as you enter.

And as you step in,

You can actually begin to feel the vastness of the energy of creation.

Creation swirling around you and in you as your cells begin to remember that part of you was there.

And part of you is still there at the beginning of all things.

As you allow yourself to explore the inside of this temple and this energy,

Notice that the energy is inviting you on a journey from the beginning of all things through time and space.

Through time and through space,

Through millennia.

Through generations.

Through geological shifts.

Through millennia.

To the beginnings of life.

The emergence of the oceans.

The growth of the forests.

Until your cells,

The energy that you carry in your body,

This beautiful energy that has never existed in this way before.

That this energy began the final centuries,

Years,

Moments of its journey to coalesce as the being that is you living in this time.

As the being that is you living in this time.

So that you are the inheritor of that journey.

Carrying all the wisdom of creation and co-creation.

Memories of time and space in your cells.

And as we continue to just explore this temple of creation,

As you breathe in,

Just invite in really gently.

Some of that energy of infinite possibility of not knowing.

And as you exhale,

You can share some of your incredible creativity and possibility back with the energy of this temple so it can be incorporated.

Almost as if you're retroactively seeding the creation of the universe in this moment,

In this temple,

Through this breath.

And you could seed the possibility of peace.

What do you want to plant in the soil of creation that may come into fruition and growth in the next breath?

And as you continue this process,

You can just gently allow the temple to dissolve around you because it's always with us,

It's always inside of us and we're always inside of it.

So just allowing it to dissolve until you find yourself back in your body and laying wherever you're laying,

On the bed or the floor or the couch.

Just being really aware as you breathe in.

And this is you breathing in.

Really aware as you breathe out,

That this is you breathing out in this moment.

In this moment.

And you can just bring your breathing to a more natural place if you haven't already.

And gently just begin to bring yourself back.

If you went pretty deep with this one,

You can just wiggle your fingers,

Maybe wiggle your hips a little bit.

And as you come up to seed in,

Just know you might be a little bit dizzy.

Maybe get some water,

Do a little bit of journaling and know that you can come back to this practice anytime.

Thank you so much for exploring and hope to see you either via recording or one of the live sessions soon.

Thanks for being here.
