We have so much going on in our lives,
So let's take a few minutes and relax,
Allowing yourself to settle into a comfortable seated position for your body.
And soften your gaze toward your lap.
Maybe your eyelids flutter all the way closed.
Gently slow your breath,
Allowing it to become deeper,
Fuller,
And maybe do some last minute wiggles.
Maybe even alternating your shoulder rolls backwards.
Your hands might be sliding up and down your thighs like wheels on a train as you roll your shoulders back one at a time.
And slowly come to stillness,
Allowing your hands to come down to your sides along your hips,
Palms facing upward.
And gently press any air that might be in your lungs out and take a collective inhale with me.
Take in a beautifully deep breath,
Pausing at the top for a moment,
And then open your mouth and let it sigh out.
And then enjoy a few rounds of deep,
Long,
Slow breaths,
Just focusing on inhaling and exhaling.
Maybe considering to sigh your breath out again if you would like.
We are all so busy sometimes,
A little bit busier than others depending on the time of year,
And maybe we have some pretty significant concerns going on right now.
But do not say to yourself,
It is what it is.
Because with this brief meditation,
I will give you a much better,
Much more temporary and therefore more positive phrase to use.
So enjoy another round of deep breath.
Exhaling just as fully,
And this time letting whatever might be troubling you rise to the top of your head and float out the top of it with your exhale.
Then straighten out your arms by your hips and take in a wonderful sun breath,
Letting your arms float above your head,
Matching the slow pacing of your inhale,
And then exhale,
Your hands gently drifting downward towards your lap,
Maybe with your elbows bent,
Your hands like little jeweled leaves falling from a tree.
And then let your hands find themselves resting one on top of the other in your lap with your thumbs touching gently and your hands like troubling thoughts that have fallen to the ground and they're swept away in a slight breeze blowing by.
And maybe if your eyes are closed,
Gently flutter them halfway open and allow your gaze to focus on the small triangular space between your thumbs with your palms resting on top of each other.
And just gaze through that small triangular space.
Focusing on that space,
Repeat to yourself this phrase.
It is this right now.
It is this right now.
Right now,
It is this.
And this beautiful phrase tells us that nothing is permanent.
The universe has our back,
So to speak.
Be kind to yourself,
Allow yourself the intention of adopting this phrase,
This mantra,
And let your hands lift off of your lap and gently rotate until they are in prayer position at your heart center,
Your thumbs gently touching your breastplate.
The light in me honors the light in you.
Namaste.
