Explore the first two steps of Neurosculpting and a Grounding Technique using the image of a tree. We will explore down regulating the limbic system and beginning to toggle or bring online the Pre-Frontal Cortex. These are important steps in balancing our nervous system, plus with the grounding, we focus on safety/ feeling safe as a main goal.

In this Neurosculpting meditation,

We will focus on steps one and two in Neurosculpting and also a grounding meditation.

So I invite you to find somewhere comfortable where your body feels safe and supported.

If you're at work,

Maybe you lock the door,

Or maybe you're in bed with a comfy blanket or on the sofa,

And there are no rules to this meditation,

So you can always move around.

During the meditation,

It's important to be comfortable and for our bodies to be supported.

So if you could think of a way in which your body feels safe right now,

Are you in a room where you can control the temperature?

Is it warm?

Is it cool,

Hot?

Is the temperature different inside than outside?

Perhaps it's cool and rainy outside and warm and cozy inside or vice versa.

Noticing the temperature.

If you could notice the temperature of your body,

What might you notice?

Are different parts of your body?

Do they have different temperatures?

Do your feet feel chilly and your hands feel warm?

Are your hands and feet cold and your torso warm?

Or something else?

If you were to become aware of your internal temperature,

Maybe it's an emotion.

What would your predominant emotion right now be?

And I invite you to imagine a temperature associated with that emotion or weather.

Maybe it's dark,

Cloudy,

Damp,

Heavy,

Bright,

Sunny,

And light with a rainbow or somewhere in between or whatever comes to mind.

That emotion,

Is there a temperature or could you feel a weather-related temperature or sensation somewhere along that gradient?

And maybe as you contemplate that emotion and different temperatures,

You notice your breath.

Like in background app refresh,

It can move in and out without much concentration.

You can be sure that it is there for you while we proceed with this mini meditation today.

If you could think of another way in which your body feels safe right now,

Or what's something that comes to mind that helps you feel safe?

Is it having appropriate clothing or food nearby?

Or it could be anything.

What else might come to mind?

Something that helps you feel safe?

S-A-F-E.

And what is your body's favorite temperature?

Do you like to feel warm and cuddled up or cool with a breeze?

How does your body feel the most at home or natural?

Or what is the most natural for your body to feel comfortable,

Perhaps at ease?

And I wonder if you could notice that sense of ease.

E-A-S-E,

Ease.

Is there somewhere within you where you feel that right now?

It could be microscopic,

Or maybe you feel it flowing through your whole being.

These can be comfort,

Safety,

Relaxation.

Maybe it feels harmonious.

And perhaps you could ignite a little glimmer or a large flame of curiosity.

Maybe it erupts or emerges from within you.

That ease,

In whatever way,

Comes naturally to you.

Perhaps you feel it,

Or imagine it,

Or see words,

Or something else.

And next we'll go over a grounding technique,

Which could also contribute to a sense of safety and ease.

So if you notice an area below your belly button,

Sort of a foundation of your body or base of your spine,

I invite you to imagine any sort of tree that comes to mind.

Maybe it's your favorite tree.

Maybe it's made up.

It could be thin,

Thick,

Medium,

Bright,

New,

Old,

Whatever comes to mind.

Colorful.

And what if the top of that tree were to connect to that area below your belly button,

And then go down through the floor,

And down to the center of the earth,

And connect at the center of the earth.

And maybe your breath could flow down that grounding,

Or maybe some breath or ease flows up from the earth,

Or maybe not.

I invite us to notice your body and your space,

And is there any change or anything you notice with the grounding?

Oh,

You could think of a word to represent what the grounding is to you,

What might come to mind.

Or maybe you feel a color or emotion,

Maybe something else.

Maybe it's simply a sensation.

What if that grounding was in a magical,

Imaginative way?

To transform some energy that you're ready to release.

Maybe it's the weather you thought of earlier,

Or something else within you,

Or outside of you.

So if you could send it down that grounding,

Maybe it gets sucked down naturally,

Or you force it down,

Or it just slides down.

And breathing,

Release that energy down.

And maybe you would like to replace it with something,

So you call down and ask for that,

Or maybe something rises back up through the grounding as a gift or a surprise,

Or maybe it's something you knew that was coming.

And perhaps it could fill your space,

Or maybe it goes to your heart,

Or you could take that and use it for something practical.

Or maybe it informs your mind,

Body,

And space in some other way.

Maybe it's sitting with the unknown.

That is the gift today.

I invite you to notice your space,

And the room,

Or environment around you.

Take a few moments to sit,

With this energy,

In this meditative state.

You can slowly open your eyes,

And join the outside world and reality again,

Or stay and continue to practice and work with the grounding.

Giving,

Releasing,

Receiving,

Filling,

Being.

And thank you.
