Hi,

This is Stefania and welcome to Wisdom Bits.

Short,

Tiny bites of information to help you live the positive lifestyle that you deserve.

Let's talk about how to have a calmer,

Happier Christmas.

We've got a few tips here gathered from here and there and my own experience on how to chill a little bit more over the holiday season.

So busy,

So much to do.

Presents to buy,

Food to cook,

People to see and so on and on and on.

How can we have a calmer,

Happier Christmas?

For one thing,

How about just simply spending time with your loved ones?

If you're with the family or the friends,

Just cherish that time that you have together.

Often we're so busy doing our own thing.

Once we're together and we can just do even the simplest little activity.

Let's go for it.

Another tip,

How about giving back?

How about volunteering time or donating in place of a gift maybe or just because you want to,

Donating to a cause you care about.

Then if it's all too much,

How about a little connecting with nature?

Just go to the park,

Take a walk outside.

Right now it's a bit snowy and icy outside,

But generally speaking,

How about just going outside,

Getting some fresh air and enjoying the beauty of the season?

Whether it's snowing where you are,

Whether it's summer where you are,

Just enjoying.

Green trees,

Beautiful smell,

The white snow,

Just nature sometimes helps us to settle down and relax and refresh and renew.

Then another way to have a perhaps happier Christmas is to make some nice memories.

What's your favorite,

If you like those holiday movies,

Watch it by yourself or with a friend.

Enjoy it,

Have some fun.

It doesn't have to be all serious.

If you bake cookies,

That kind of thing,

Not because you have to,

But because you want to,

Go for it.

Another thing is,

Most important person to give a Christmas gift to is yourself.

Take time for yourself.

Relax,

Recharge so you can enjoy the holiday season to the fullest.

If you have lots and lots of things to do,

How about delegating?

See if you can get those around you to pitch in,

Take some of that load off.

So now,

For what is one of the biggest stressors over Christmas,

Those gifts.

Who gets what?

What amount should I spend?

How much is too little?

How much is too much?

How about trying these few tips?

One thing,

Try not to stress over buying elaborate gifts if that's not your style or your budget.

Try not to be in a situation where you feel like you have to compete.

Just do what you can.

They'll appreciate it.

And if they don't,

Don't worry about it.

You did your best.

One of the best gifts you can give your family and your loved ones and your friends at Christmas is a gift of time.

Spending quality time with your loved ones to show them how much you care.

Showing them your appreciation for them.

Even little teeny things like going for a walk,

Playing games together,

Especially if perhaps the person that you're with plays games and you don't,

You know.

See things from their point of view.

Try to do what makes them happy.

And hopefully you can both have a little enjoyment.

Or you can go to the museum,

Go for the weekend getaway.

Most important thing is to be together and taking that time out of the busy schedule to do things as a group.

That can be really nurturing,

Healing and enriching.

And it's something that they're going to remember after Christmas is over.

After holiday wrapping paper has been recycled,

Boxes have been discarded.

Some of the gifts have been put on a shelf to stay there for a little while.

This kind of thing they can think about fondly in January.

January is often a dreary month after Christmas time.

They can remember what fun they had with you.

And they might want to repeat it even though it's not Christmas.

It's just another way to up the relationship to let them know,

Yeah,

You're important to me.

Even if I'm really busy,

I'm thinking about you.

Another thing you can do,

This one takes a little effort.

Make something,

Something that's meaningful and thoughtful.

Something with a personal touch,

Like a handmade gift,

A personalized card or putting together a photo album of things that you've done with that person during the year,

Special moments.

That would be kind of nice.

And it's not something that you find on the shelves in the store,

Something unique.

And then you can,

If you're creatively inspired,

You can decorate the photo album.

You can make it a really nice thing of it.

And that's something that they're going to keep year after year.

It's not going to go in a drawer or in a cupboard.

And if you want to be more traditional,

How about a charity donation in the recipient's name?

That can be quite meaningful,

Especially if it's a cause that you know that they're really passionate about.

I think they'd really appreciate that.

But I guess the most important thing to do is make sure it comes from the heart,

Not something,

I don't really care about this,

But they like it,

So I'll do it.

And they'll think really nicely of me.

You know,

Something that you really care about and want to send that good,

Loving energy to them.

So those are some of the things that we can do to chill out,

To enjoy our Christmas more,

To kind of put aside all the perfume ads and all the adverts that say you must get this to show your recipients that you love them.

Unless you want to do that.

That's cool too.

But do Christmas as you do Christmas.

Do Christmas in the way that you know you hope will make your recipients happy,

But will also give you a nice,

Peaceful,

Calm,

And happy feeling.

The circle of energy,

The golden circle of energy,

Of love,

That's Christmas.

And that's it for now.

Enjoy your Christmas.

Take time for a break for yourself and have a wonderful time.

Bye for now.

Take care.

Be well.
