Hi,
This is Stefania and welcome to Wisdom Bits.
Small bites of information to help you live the positive lifestyle that you deserve.
Today,
Let's talk about 10 ways to keep a peaceful mind in unsettling times.
Right now.
Number one.
Pray.
Pray or meditate.
Prayer or meditation is a great way to slow down and for a few moments remove yourself from the noise and chatter around you.
We can recharge our batteries and strengthen our spirits.
And the more we do it,
The easier it is to do.
Easier it is to jump into it at any time,
Any place that we might need to to keep our equilibrium.
Number two.
Exercise.
Yes,
Exercise is good for more than toning up and losing weight.
It's also good for the immune system and it stimulates feel-good endorphins.
Exercise decreases the stress hormones like cortisol and increases endorphins which are kind of hormone like substances which produce good feelings of euphoria and a general sense of well-being.
So sometimes just a bit of movement can help us refocus.
Number three.
Gratitude.
Gratitude is good.
Gratitude for the good around you even any time,
Even now,
Any time.
Feel gratitude for the things that are part of your everyday life like family,
Friends,
Your home,
Your pets,
Your food,
Water,
Clean water to drink,
Shower,
Cook with,
Your health.
You can even keep a little gratitude journal or just start writing down three things that you're grateful for.
Number four.
In your everyday life there is still,
I believe,
There's still so much good in the world.
Number four.
Do something good for someone.
Sometimes it's good to take the focus off of ourselves and look to others who might need a kind word or something like that,
You know,
Like a compliment or some help.
Something that's within our capabilities and desire to offer.
Doesn't have to be a big thing.
Something,
Um,
Just a smile or a kind word is what's needed.
Something simple like that.
Your intuition will tell you.
And also the energy coming off of the other person.
You will know what to do.
Number five.
Reduce the time spent watching and listening to the news.
Overexposure to the news can sometimes,
Some people love the news,
Which is fine,
But sometimes overexposure to the news can leave us deflated and sad.
How about listening to the news a little bit less?
How about listening to the news to know what's going on and then let it go?
And maybe definitely not just before going to bed if it's going to make you worry.
Six.
Get out in a quiet place of nature.
Nature,
Forests,
Going to the woods,
To the park,
To the seaside,
To the mountains,
Can sometimes be so healing,
So relaxing.
And the negative ions are indeed very healing and so are indeed very healing and relaxing.
I did a wee bit of research and it's said that they're found near mountains,
Beaches,
And waterfalls.
And they're thought to relieve stress and tension.
And sometimes looking at the waves coming in is so so peaceful and hypnotic.
The smell of the trees,
The song of the birds,
So soothing and peaceful,
Can make us kind of forget about our worries for a moment and just be.
Number seven.
Listen to soothing music.
Soothing music can be really good in calming us down and helping us to de-stress and relax.
Actually,
I have to say,
Soothing music isn't always secure.
Sometimes depending on our personality,
Hard,
Fast driving music can de-stress as well because we get so into the music.
It's like being in another world where only the positive vibration is the beat and melody of the music.
Sometimes,
Of course,
It can excite us into a frenzy,
But we are talking about dealing with stress and chilling in whatever way is right.
Number eight.
Phone a friend.
Meet with people or join some online group that meets your needs and shares your interest.
Try being part of a community instead of isolation,
Even if it's only for a short while,
Even if you can only stand it for a little bit.
Just getting outside of ourselves to talk about your needs and needs.
To talk,
Exchange ideas,
And we can find out.
We're not the only ones who may be feeling a bit stressed out.
Sometimes it's nice to have company there because you don't then feel like you're weird or something's wrong with you.
You can talk about it.
Number nine.
Yes,
That's right.
Our breath.
Explore breathing techniques to find one that's right for you.
The breathing will help you help us focus when we're feeling scattered.
And it can help us to calm down and might even help our immune systems.
There's so many different styles of breathing.
There's rim health,
Which is the one I like.
Or there's a kind of a box four corners style of breathing exercise.
And there's lots more.
Some of them are very subtle and you can do them anywhere.
Anytime you feel the need to chill.
Breathing is something.
.
.
Yes,
This is common sense.
Breathing is something that we take with us wherever we go.
So that's one tool that we always have with us.
No matter where,
No matter when.
We always have our breath to soothe and to heal.
And the last one,
Number ten.
Let go of the anger and fear.
There are so many things we can investigate to learn how to chill out a bit.
But I'm thinking that a big priority job is just to let go of pent-up anger and fear that might be hurting our immune systems and making us feel bad.
It can be stuff we don't even know that we're angry about.
But it's there in our subconscious and we might wonder why do we act that way?
Why do we say that thing?
We might even get angry at ourselves.
Why am I mad at me?
Learn,
We got to learn how to chill and let go of that pent-up anger and fear.
We can't be totally anger and fear-free because sometimes it's helpful to our survival.
But we can let a great deal of it go so that we can live more harmoniously within ourselves.
Feel a bit happier,
A bit more at peace,
A bit more easily able to relate to others.
Because we're not angry at ourselves,
We're not angry at the world,
We're not afraid of ourselves.
But that's not something can be done overnight.
Sometimes we have to talk it out with a trusted friend or maybe even get some group counseling.
Or it could be something that we could bit by bit work on ourselves.
We can listen to inspirational podcasts or there are some really good YouTube videos around,
But listen to the ones that speak to you and maybe show you a different way to handle things.
But don't be swayed and follow blindly.
Just because someone says someone is really super may be right for you,
May not be right for you.
Find people that speak to you,
Your personality,
And open doors and ways of seeing and living positively in today's world.
It can be done.
So much going on,
But within our selves,
We can find a space of peace.
Take care of yourself and love yourself.
We do have a right,
I have to say,
Despite we do have a right to feel anger and fear.
But we also have a choice whether to hold on to it and let it make us feel sick and stressed and unhappy or to see it,
To notice it,
To look at it,
To evaluate it,
And then let it go as best we can.
This can't be done overnight,
But bit by bit effort,
We can learn to be more at peace.
Do you have some special techniques that you use to keep yourself,
Your energy level?
To keep yourself well in yourself?
Feel free to share them.
And that's about it for now.
Just take care of yourself and try to find as much peace within yourself as you can.
Bye for now.

That was really nice. I’m holding it together and mostly doing everything you listed. But it helped to hear it again. It’s a worrisome time in the US and personally with my family. It helped to hear your comforting friendly voice. Thank you
