Hello,
And welcome to this meditation session with Amanda.
Today we're gonna start off by asking ourselves a question,
And then we're gonna be followed by a two-minute short meditation.
So the question of the day is how often do you push yourself outside of your comfort zone?
Especially in this time when we don't know what's going on,
We might be quarantined at home,
We might be having limited spaces,
Limited conversations,
And a lot of exposure to online.
So is there any way that you can push yourself to go outside of your comfort zone?
Now this could be as simple as,
I want to go for a run.
And maybe you just try by putting on your tennis shoes and going outside and walking around the block.
Or maybe you walk two blocks,
But pushing yourself a little bit farther than you did yesterday.
This could also be something that's more internal,
Such as you've gotten into a rhythm of complacency,
Of a schedule,
Of maybe a little bit of depression.
But it's comfortable to be in that depression.
It's safe,
We get to snuggle in bed,
Drink coffee,
Watch bad TV,
And there's nothing wrong with that,
But this gives us an opportunity to push ourselves in a way that we haven't before.
So ask yourself,
How can I push myself out of my comfort zone?
What are some of the habits that I've picked up lately that have now become safe,
That have now become boring,
That I can start to change for my better wellbeing?
So now we're going to take a deep breath and go into two minutes of focused breathing.
I like to start my breathing by breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
Now on your own,
Try to make your in breath as slow as possible and your out breath even slower.
This helps our mind focus and we can go back to breathing.
So for the next two minutes on your own,
Just think about your breath.
And then just start to breathe normally,
But notice what you feel as air is coming in and as air is coming out.
Melts.
