Crown Chakra
by Stacie Wyatt
The Crown Chakra connects us to universal consciousness, divine wisdom, and the light of pure awareness. In this meditation, we bring gentle focus to the crown of the head, inviting spaciousness, peace, and a sense of oneness. As we rest in stillness, we open to infinite possibilities and the quiet presence of connection with all that is.

Hello there,
My beautiful friends.
Let's keep going in the chakra series.
Let's travel up to the final main energy center in the body.
If you've joined me for the bottom six or the lower six or the previous six,
Let's dive into the final one.
The seventh chakra is known as the crown chakra or the thousand-petaled lotus.
The color of this energy center is violet.
The element is thought or will and gemstones that are often associated with this one are amethyst,
Purple fluorite,
Selenite,
Clear quartz.
Energy for this energy center has to do with our connectedness to all beings,
Our connectedness to all things,
To universe,
To all that is.
The seventh chakra is often referred to as the thousand-petaled lotus because in imagery,
There is literally an image of a lotus flower hovering just above the crown of the head that has a thousand-petaled lotus.
This is the top chakra of the seven and it's located at the crown of the head.
This is our source of enlightenment,
Our spiritual connection to all that is.
It's our connection to our higher self,
To every other being on the planet,
And ultimately the divine energy that creates everything in the universe.
This one is associated with wisdom,
Enlightenment,
And transcendence.
The crown chakra is where masculine and feminine forces are said to unite in sort of this tremendous clarity and awakening.
This one is also associated with the following behavioral characteristics that when this one is in a good place,
We have consciousness,
We have awareness of our higher consciousness,
We have wisdom,
We understand what is sacred,
We have a connection with the formless,
The limitless,
We have realization,
We are liberated from limiting patterns,
We have a connection with the universe,
We have ourselves just in this understanding of ourselves and our place in the universe and with others,
We have communion with higher states of consciousness,
We feel ecstasy at times,
We feel blissful,
We feel incredibly present.
When this one is unbalanced,
However,
Or blocked,
Most individuals feel like they have become spiritually disconnected.
They feel like they're living a life without purpose,
Without direction,
They feel lost,
They feel hopeless,
They feel misunderstood,
They feel like they don't really have a place.
When this one has an imbalance,
We can have sort of this disconnection with the body,
We might feel like we're constantly just living in our head,
Sort of disconnected from earthly matters,
We might even have some obsessive attachment to spiritual matters where we want answers,
We want to understand that which cannot be understood,
And we can often find ourselves closed-minded.
When this one is overactive,
We can be cynical,
Apathetic,
Disconnected from spirituality,
We might even have some self-destructive tendencies where we self-sabotage.
An underactive crown chakra looks like confusion about what it is you want to do,
Lack of inspiration,
Maybe a desire to oversleep and just not connect,
A desire to numb yourself,
To not be present.
Some physical signs that this one is imbalanced is we can have poor coordination.
It's like our body and our mind are not connected.
We drop things,
We stumble things,
We trip over things,
We might have pretty constant tension headaches,
We might even feel overly exhausted.
The energy of this one allows us to experience mystical oneness with all beings,
With nature,
With this warm feeling of connection to something that can't be touched.
There is no intellectual knowing at the level of the seventh chakra,
But there is a feeling associated.
There's a deep peace about life,
There's serenity,
There's joy,
There's contentment.
You have a sense of knowing that there's a deeper meaning to your life and that there is an order that underlies all of existence.
Things match up for you.
Things make sense.
You have deep trust.
Affirmations that I like for this one include,
I am part of the divine.
I honor the divine within me.
I seek to understand.
I cherish my spirit.
I listen to the wisdom of the universe.
I am open.
I live in the present.
My life moves with grace.
I am at peace.
I am connected.
And the simplest affirmation for the crown chakra is,
I know or I understand.
When we think about particular yoga postures for the crown chakra,
If you have an inversion practice,
Something like modified shoulder stand,
Headstand,
Even downward facing dog with the head below the heart is a great one,
Bridge pose.
And also anything that has opposite actions.
So twisting one side than the other.
Revolved side angle where your one part of your body,
The lower half is revolved one way and the upper is revolved the other way or revolved chair pose where the body is stationary in one regard.
Legs are strong and then you're revolving one direction and then the other.
So opposing sides.
Those are great yoga poses to just bring that balance to your body.
And then as a result,
Open up the crown chakra.
And like I said,
There are gemstones that I love to use and to play with when I want to activate this energy center for essential oils.
I love frankincense.
I love myrrh.
These are some of those very high vibrating mystical oils.
I think their frequencies really align with the seventh chakra.
Roman chamomile is another one,
A tiny sweet little flower,
But it is so powerful in helping to awaken the intuition and the knowing.
So the sixth and seventh really like Roman chamomile.
And then I love clear quartz just because I think clear quartz is a beautiful stone to have in your practice to bring clarity.
And I also love selenite to clear out all of the junk that's in the way.
So I think those are great choices.
Remember,
This one connects us to all that is.
And when this one is closed or imbalanced or deficient or blocked,
Whatever you want to call it,
When it's not operating optimally,
We feel disconnected.
We question ourselves.
We question life.
We question spirit.
We question universe.
We question why people do bad things.
We don't see that there is an order to things,
Even if the order may not make sense to us.
There's a lack of trust and a lack of relationship with universal energy.
When this one is open and good,
You feel in the zone.
You feel that your life has purpose.
You feel connected to all beings.
You find comfort in nature.
You find comfort around animals.
You see the good in all people.
And you are incredibly open.
So this is a nice one to work with.
And it's probably one of the ones that I think people miss the most when working with their energy centers.
As human beings,
We tend to focus on the lower three,
The more material human ones,
Because the higher we go up on the chakra ladder,
The more ethereal they get,
The harder to capture,
The harder to touch,
Harder to have tangible feelings about.
And so this one is sometimes referred to as very lofty and hard to grasp.
But when you grasp it and you're living with an open seventh chakra,
Then it all makes sense.
That's what I got for you today.
Thanks for hanging out with me and learning about the energy centers.
It's been a fun series.
And I look forward to sharing more with you as we go along.
Take care and be well.
