Welcome to this meditation to help you gain perspective on something in your life that you are finding troubling or challenging.
Make sure you are in a space where you will not be disturbed.
Make yourself comfortable.
Gradually begin to relax your body.
Consciously allow your shoulders to drop.
Relax your jaw.
Remove your tongue from the roof of your mouth.
Inhale and exhale gently.
You have chosen to be here.
That which you truly are knows that peace and contentment and satisfaction are your natural states of being.
You are safe here.
Let's do some breathing to support a strong,
Calm nervous system.
Inhale for a count of four.
Hold for seven.
Inhale through pursed lips for eight seconds.
Inhale and exhale normally.
And more round of breathing to support a calm nervous system.
Inhale for four seconds.
Hold for seven.
Through pursed lips,
Exhale for eight.
Inhale and exhale normally.
And one final round.
Inhale for four.
Hold for seven.
Exhale through pursed lips for eight seconds.
Inhale and exhale normally.
If you haven't already,
Close your eyes.
You are safe.
See yourself sitting in your favorite space.
Maybe it's on the ground.
You feel the blades of grass along your shins and feet.
Or a super comfy chair that's soft and enveloping.
Or a luxurious leather chaise where you feel supported.
Take a moment and acknowledge your body.
Its strength.
Its resiliency.
Its power.
Drop your shoulders.
Relax your jaw.
And just breathe.
The mind will continue to generate thought because that's its job.
Focus on the sound of my voice or the music.
And let the mind be the mind.
What is it you would like perspective on?
A relationship,
An experience,
A decision.
Where you're going next on your journey.
What feels like a challenge or a problem is really just another way for you to know who you really are.
By releasing who you're not.
So you can see the truth of what is for your highest good.
Feel the weight of your body in the space where you're sitting.
Whether it's a chair,
The ground,
Or that leather chaise.
And as you feel the weight of your bones and your body,
There is a piece of you.
A wisp that floats out of your body and hovers just above you.
Watching you relaxed with your eyes closed,
Happy that you feel safe.
You are that part of you,
That wisp observing your physical being.
You know the issue that feels troubling to that part of you.
But you are here to shine the light,
To offer perspective.
You rise higher,
Like a bird sitting on a branch in a beautiful oak tree.
You look down at yourself.
You see the situation that is causing disruption,
Discomfort.
And since you're above the fray in this version of yourself,
You see things more clearly.
More objectively.
What is it you notice?
As thoughts dance through your mind,
Let them,
Across the stage of your mind,
They enter and exit without affecting you.
As you are focused on the sound of my voice,
Or the music,
As you breathe calmly,
Feeling safe,
The observer part of you floats higher.
As high as the tallest building you can imagine.
You and the circumstance that is causing disruption,
Visible,
But not so that you are in it any longer.
From this level,
What do you notice?
What do you see?
At this height,
The emotions are disconnected.
It's just observation.
You feel light and carefree at this elevation.
And once more,
You float up the height of an airplane.
Sitting below just specks.
Except for the one thing that you see shining.
You sitting in your favorite place,
In your physical form,
Safe,
Calm,
Peaceful.
Because the part of you that is light and carefree,
Sees the outcome that is for your highest good.
Let the thoughts continue to dance across the stage of your mind,
They are meaningless.
Focus on the sound of my voice,
On the music,
On the feeling of being light and carefree.
Gradually you begin to float back to your body.
Like a beautiful leaf in an autumn breeze.
Back on the top of the skyscraper.
And as you calmly inhale and exhale,
You continue to float until you are on the branch of a beautiful oak tree.
You see the changes in your physical body.
No tension.
Peaceful.
With this next inhalation and exhalation,
The part of you that has been sharing perspective gently floats back down to your body.
Where you join and become one again.
Gradually you begin to feel the weight of your body again,
Its power,
Its strength.
And you also feel the lightness and the transparency of who you really are.
You need both of these pieces.
To live an incredible life as a human being here on this plane.
And now that they have been joined,
Ask yourself,
What is my next step?
Focus on the next step,
Not the answer.
And trust that the steps will lead you to where you need to be.
Now that you have some perspective.
Take a deep breath in.
Slowly exhale.
Feel of the worry and the discomfort.
The consternation.
The troubling thoughts.
Inhale again deeply.
Breathing in the truth,
Perspective and the lightness of your inner being.
Up your shoulders,
Relax your jaw.
Let your tongue come away from the roof of your mouth.
This is you empowered and light.
This is you strong and carefree.
This is you whole and safe.
Thank yourself for choosing this experience,
For participating to the best of your ability in this moment.
Affirm that if you don't have a clear next step that you are open to it.
And that you trust that you are going to receive it.
Extend your legs,
Shake them out a little bit.
Shake out your arms.
Turn your head side to side.
Make some noise.
Sigh.
Exhale long and loud.
You did this.
You came here.
You wanted to know.
Much appreciation.
Inhale one more time deeply.
Exhale loudly.
Carry this feeling with you for the rest of your day.
Knowing that you are safe.
And that your journey to knowing who you really are is one that appreciates your courage,
Your focus and your love.
