Grounding yourself is the process of balancing your physical, emotional, mental, and energy states and reconnecting them. In this podcast, I am sharing some simple tools on how we can connect to Mother Earth and become present. And will guide you with a short meditation.

Hi beautiful souls,

Welcome to another podcast.

Here today's topic I am bringing you is grounding.

Grounding as earthing,

Feeling connection to the mother earth,

Being present with our body,

Everything.

We do hear this phrase quite a lot now with all the self healing work,

The therapies,

And the board room meetings,

In meditations as well.

So I just wanted to share some glimpses and some tools and techniques,

How quickly we can ground ourselves and the benefits that we can get into.

So get yourself grounded and you can navigate even the stormiest roads in peace.

Said by Steve Goodyear.

Grounding is one of the main areas that the spiritual books and the teachers are covering now and we are always reminded like,

No,

Not to fly high in case we forget our roads and our base.

Yes,

In terms of grounding,

That is right.

And once you're connected to the base,

You can have a safe landing.

And it's such a simple tool and easy to work with and to be implemented in our daily lives.

It helps us grow healthier,

Stronger inside out.

So grounding yourself is the process of balancing our physical,

Emotional,

Mental energy state and reconnecting with ourselves.

And also thinking simple terms,

Grounding means that our souls are plugged in,

Anchored into the Earth's energies.

Being grounded means it's just that you don't need anything in between.

The plug points are to the Mother Earth straight away,

Like,

You know,

And that is so magical.

And even earthing,

It refers to the contact with the Earth's surface and walking bare feet or sitting or walking or sleeping indoors on the ground or on the grass.

These are the ways that you can notice the energy is transferred from the Mother Earth into our body.

And to practice grounding,

You can contact the Earth with your body,

Safe with your legs,

With your feet,

With your hands.

This creates an electrical connection to the ground.

To receive most of the benefits from grounding,

We can stay connected to the Earth for at least 20 minutes.

And if at all you can't do,

Being outside,

You can use your power of intention,

Your visualization that you are doing it,

And that is quite amazing and same benefits as you are lying on the grass.

So imagine a tree that is not well supported and grounded.

When the rain and the strong winds come,

What happens to it?

Will it fall over,

Get knocked down,

Or go through wear and tear on the branches?

Then chances of all these to happen is quite there.

And flying always starts from the grounding.

Notice the birds even there gently fly high.

Or the gliders or the power planes,

Anything,

You know,

You just have to go on the runway and then lift off.

Yeah,

The more grounded you are,

The higher you fly and just like them,

Your flight is safer and smoother.

Birds taught us that we can fly and gave us the hope and inspiration.

So we are taking some things back from the nature,

Just being even observing.

And there are some major positive effects of using grounding to enhance the depth and the length of sleep,

Reducing the pain,

Reducing the stress.

And one of the first studies that came out like around 2004 found that grounding improved sleep and reduced the cortisol levels of stress hormone.

Isn't it amazing how the science is proving this?

And think about this is a therapeutic technique and involves doing actings like reconnection,

Earthing signs,

And grounded physics,

Like the electrical charge that has the positive effects on your body.

Saying that this is not a new thing.

Just not science coming up now and proving it to us.

It has been an age-old practice that involves connecting your body,

Your mind,

Spirit to the planet.

You can practice earthing by standing bare feet or lying on the grass.

Anything that allows your body to connect directly to the ground.

And back in the days,

Our ancestors,

They used to walk bare feet.

And they used to be the gardeners.

They used to be the farmers.

They were always connected to the ground.

I think one of the worst inventions many scientists do say is the rubber.

And once the rubber has been invented for the shoes,

For the flip-flop,

For the slippers,

Everything is a barrier now to be grounded,

Right?

And it stops us feeling the mother earth.

And grounding is one of the techniques that I always talk about in every workshop or with the clients as well from time to time.

And I see it as our foundation,

Ability to grow and develop in a healthy manner which keeps us aligned mind,

Body and spirit.

And without grounding,

We feel insecure,

Restless,

Like we don't belong in the presence.

Grounding ensures you that your head is well balanced and in the right place.

This is especially true when you are high on happiness or low on emotion.

Grounding helps bring these extreme emotions to normal.

And it is a foundation to our abilities as well.

Think about it.

Definitely it's not a complicated one.

It's super easy to do.

And grounding is a way of anchoring our physical,

Mental,

Spiritual selves to the mother earth and helps us balance.

Again,

As many meditation gurus,

Teachers have said,

We need to be in the present time.

And to bring ourselves into the present time is where we need to anchor our feet to the ground or breathing into the belly.

Doing those two things,

We are not in the past,

We're not with our worries,

We're not with our frustrations,

We're not in the future worrying about things that we have no control on.

But right here in this moment you are in.

And isn't it amazing to be connected into the present moment?

And what happens when you're ungrounded?

You seem to be more distracted easily,

More spaced out,

Overthink or engage in family dramas,

Personal dramas,

Experience anxieties and worrying.

And also sometimes it leads into desire for material things or can easily deceive ourselves.

And obsessed about who we are,

The mirror effect,

What we are creating within ourselves.

So couple of things that you can do is walk bare feet,

Bring your attention to earth,

Take a large breath in.

And as you breathe,

Visualize a golden energy traveling up from the earth into your feet and through your body up to your heart.

Definitely take those shoes off if it's a warmer climate.

Enjoy the warm weather and the feeling of sand or grass under your feet.

Try walking with socks off in your home too.

Place your feet on the wooden floor or the grass which is quite effective.

And just feel that energy infusing you through your soles of the feet to your body.

As just I'm saying this,

Even visualize that.

Another amazing way is to hug a tree.

I'm always known for hugging trees.

I absolutely love it.

By reaching out and hugging a tree for just a few moments,

We can ground ourselves physically and spiritually.

And if you feel embarrassed,

Which we do from time to time,

Initially you can sit underneath or touch the trunk of the tree.

Hugging a tree is amazing and uplifts your mood and deeply connects with deep with the mother earth.

The tree doesn't judge us,

Just holds us,

Embraces us.

Other way to do is imagine yourself to be a mountain.

If you can't see a mountain nearby,

Go to a mountain and visualize to be one like it,

Maybe from a picture that you clicked or that you get from the internet.

Of course there are many ways to ground by meditation,

The sound bath,

Reiki energy.

You can opt to do one of these near your home too.

I love this one.

The physical exercise is by stomping your feet on the ground or the grass.

Just like what the toddlers do.

This is amazing way to be grounded again.

Yoga,

Dance,

Tai chi,

Ki kong,

These are again alternative therapies that help us to be grounded.

And as we get into our chakras,

The root chakra is all about the grounding,

The base chakra,

Moladhara.

This is especially important when making an important decision in life.

In career,

Relationship change,

So definitely connect into your root chakra.

That is a way for you to be grounded.

Gardening can be an indoor and outdoor activity.

Just by placing your hands in the planting soil for few minutes can easily reconnect you.

Or if you are on a beach,

You can do it with sand as well.

And sometimes I do bring a stone from the beach and hold it.

And that is the earth element that brings my breathing into the earth element.

Just relaxing me and keeping me in the flow.

So grounding offers us an instant way to discharge unwanted energies.

Supports us energetically.

Helps an instant sounds of calm.

And gives us a life purpose and rejuvenates our energy field as well.

As even like connecting just.

You can close your eyes and make a connection and feel that.

Eating greens that helps us as well to be grounded like broccoli,

Spinach,

Root vegetables because they are growing low onto the earth surface.

They are closer to the earth and that is some benefits there.

And herbs as well like you know herbal teas,

Fresh herbal teas help you as well to be grounded.

The thing I love the crystals.

A part of you like a beach stone.

You can also get some crystals.

The crystals that I use are hematite,

Selenite,

Quartz,

Smoky quartz and tourmaline.

So if these are the ones that you can get a hold on use them.

If not visualize their energies.

Anchor anchor your feet on the soil.

Bury your feet in the sand.

That way you are grounding.

Using water.

Don't take it by so easy.

Can it ground?

Yes of course because your body is more composed of water and definitely that is a water element that is bringing you to the earth.

And that way you are more in the present moment.

I love this by meditation.

5 4 3 2 1.

And even by thinking about it you are grounding or you can think about 5 things you can see.

4 things you can feel.

3 recognize the sounds you can hear.

2 things you can smell.

1 thing you can taste.

So by this you are totally anchoring all your senses into the now.

And have you ever observed the babies that heartless they always touch their feet.

That is their way to ground.

You can do simple stretches.

Forward bend to do touch feet or the dog's pose.

And that way you are on your force on the ground.

Which is a wonderful technique again.

5 5.

Swim in the beach that's a good one like you know the salt the salt from the sea helps us to be grounded or you can get some epsom salt Himalayan salt have a salt bath that is not only detoxing but also grounding you.

Hey how about this?

The easiest the best of all breathing into your belly breathing out.

Breathing in and breathing out you are anchoring your body to the breath to the present and that's as simple as that right.

Getting a cold shower helps us well to be grounded and just maybe a quick shower for few seconds and then you can go to the warm or the hot one but that quick cold shower helps you to be connected.

And here I want to do a little different in this podcast.

Take you on a journey to connect you to be grounded.

So get into a comfortable place you can listen you can meditate with this and if you liked it you can pause and you can be in a safe place and meditate.

So here let's go on a journey to connect and to ground ourselves now.

Just take the parts that you are most comfortable with in this meditation.

Stand with your hands by your side feet flat on the ground.

State your intention.

I allow myself to let the grounding energy from below the mother earth and from above the creator of all that is to surround ground and protect me now and for the rest of the day.

Now gently bring your attention to earth.

Take a large deep and as you breathe visualize a golden energy traveling up from earth into your feet through your body up to your heart.

As you exhale visualize the light from earth all the way up to your heart expanding outward all around the bottom portion of your body in about an arm's length distance or beyond.

Bring your attention to your crown chakra.

Take a large breath in and visualize golden energy from the creator entering into your crown moving down through your body and to your heart mingling with earth energies that you pulled in earlier.

As you exhale visualize the light from above expanding outward all around the top portion of your body and at about an arm's length distance or beyond.

Breathe in one more time and visualize energies from below earth and above creator coming into your body the same time and meeting at the heart.

As you exhale visualize energies expanding outward all around your entire body about arm's length distance or beyond.

Observe yourself surrounded by a column of golden light from earth and from creator of all that is.

You are completely surrounded,

Aligned and balanced with the universal energies of mother,

Father or god goddesses.

With your arms held by your side visualize roots growing out of your fingers and into the earth.

Bring your attention to your feet.

Visualize roots growing out of your feet and into the earth.

Bring your attention into the present moment.

You are now grounded and surrounded by loving light.

Give thanks to all.

Use this visualization before and after your meditations or at the start of the end of your day.

It is also wonderful to use for protection when you feel fearful,

Out of balance,

Upset or anxiety striking.

Do this exercise every day to replenish your shield of light and to help you feel grounded.

And spend as little time as possible to as long as possible to invoke the intention anywhere you are,

However you remember it.
