Peaceful Garden Keep your eyes open as you begin to get yourself comfortable in preparation for your meditation.
You might wish to find a spot on the wall or on the floor in front of you that you can focus on as you bring your attention to your breath.
Do nothing to alter the cycle of your breath.
Just simply be an observer of it.
As you focus softly on the spot you've chosen,
Allow the internal chatter of your mind to quieten down.
Breathe in deeply.
Exhale fully and completely.
And when your eyelids begin to feel heavier,
Gently allow them to close.
In your mind,
Take yourself to a pretty garden,
A garden of your own choosing.
There in the middle of the garden is an empty reclining seat.
Sit down and be comfortable.
As you look around,
Admire the tall trees with their full branches.
Appreciate the natural fine beauty of the delicate flowers planted along the borders.
Let all these images form up in your mind.
If some bits are harder to visualize,
Just imagine seeing them and it'll come.
Acknowledge with gratitude the summer sun as it shines directly into your garden.
It feels healing,
Nourishing and warming on your skin.
Nearby you can hear the sound of a bee buzzing busily within the flower bed.
A neighbor has lit a barbecue nearby.
And the smoky smell of food cooking drifts across the fences.
It's a peaceful,
Beautiful day.
Lie back in your chair and breathe deeply.
Exhale fully and completely.
And feel the sun penetrating your skin and soothing every muscle in your body.
As the sun continues to shine down,
You experience deeper and deeper levels of relaxation within your body.
Just allow all of that to happen right now.
In this moment.
In this peaceful garden that you've created for yourself.
Begin to drift down and down to explore deeper levels within yourself.
Deeper levels of tranquility.
Of personal understanding.
Of healing and calm.
I will leave you for a little while to enjoy this healing time,
