This new moon meditation is to assist with setting intentions and finding deep healing and rest as you connect to the rhythm of the earth and bring stillness to the mind and body.
There will not be a prompt to reawaken from the practice,
So feel free to set a timer or alarm if you choose.
As the moon retreats into darkness,
It's the perfect time to let go,
Reset,
And set intentions for the new lunar cycle.
Immerse yourself in this blissful journey that may withdraw you from your thinking mind and allow you to connect deeper to your body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Taking time for rest is so important and often missed in our busy world of accomplishment and doing.
This meditation is designed to reduce stress and anxiety and calm the nervous system by giving time for the body to be present with the here and now.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Melting into any blankets,
Pillows,
Or props you have available.
You might place a blanket over the body for warmth,
Even if only over the torso for extra grounding.
Notice if you can be a little more comfortable at this moment.
Give yourself permission to let go of anything from earlier in this day or anything later to come.
Softening your gaze or closing your eyes,
Begin to tune into the rhythm of your own breathing.
Our very awareness has the power of transformation,
So as you observe your breathing,
The length of your breath might change,
And that's okay,
But instead of changing your breath,
Continue to enter the state of noticing and observe your breath being slow and steady.
Now allow the rhythm of your breathing to become slightly regulated and slower,
Pulling your inhale through your nose,
Your throat,
Your side body,
And eventually your abdomen as you expand,
And as you exhale,
Let your abdomen soften back,
Keeping your chest lifted slightly until all your air is out and your body has softened.
Repeating in this manner a few more times,
Begin to feel the surface beneath you and the good earth holding you and supporting you.
As we steady the pace of our breathing,
We can also steady the rhythm of our minds.
Now as you remain here sitting or lying down in this peaceful and steady awareness,
Feel your breath moving through your nostrils,
Filling your sinuses,
And cooling down the inside of your head.
Allow the muscles of your eyes to soften.
Feel the forehead soften as you expand awareness.
Visualize the inside of your ears receiving the vibration and sound of my voice and your breath.
Feel your tongue heavy in the cave of your mouth.
Continue to soften around the mouth,
Jaw,
Throat,
And neck.
Once again,
Connect with your breath as it moves steady and soft through your body,
Relaxing your shoulders,
Arms,
And hands as the limbs rest heavily and relaxed.
Continuing with awareness,
Begin to soften the abdomen and waist.
Feel the weight of your torso connected and supported,
Bringing attention even more to the weight and heaviness of your legs.
Notice how your legs connect down to the earth,
Allowing your body to feel grounded and present.
As you rest in this grounded presence,
Feel your bones,
Your breath,
Your skin,
And organs all perfectly connected.
Allow your attention to remain here,
Soft and present.
At this moment,
You may choose to state an intention to yourself.
It may be a short,
Positive statement in simple language.
Try to discover one naturally,
Something that you want to manifest more than anything else in life.
Now allow the sound of my voice to be your guide as we bring attention to different parts of the body.
You might repeat the name to yourself or send loving gratitude to each area as it is named.
There is no need to move the body.
The practice begins on the right side.

Observe the body and notice if there are any parts that do not feel relaxed.
Take a full breath in and on the exhale,
Send the breath there now.
Bring awareness to the breath and begin to observe the breath at the abdomen,
Feeling the body relaxed and at ease.
Allow the breath to flow naturally and deeply without effort.
Observe the movement of the abdomen,
Feeling how it harmonizes with the sounds and rhythm of your breath.
As you breathe in,
Feel the abdomen rise and as you breathe out,
The abdomen gently descends.
Begin to count your breath as you breathe in and out,
Slowly descending from 10 to 1.
Inhale breath rising 10,
Exhale breath descending 10.
Inhale breath rising 9,
Exhale breath descending 9.
Continue on with your own breathing,
Maintaining awareness.
Release the control of your breath and rest here.
Regardless of what number you have reached,
Feel your body resting and breathing naturally,
Returning to a rhythmic pattern.
You may now remember your intention made at the beginning of the practice.
Repeat your intention to yourself now with clarity and trust that the seed has been planted in the fertile soil of your mind to bring transformation and healing.
Bring your attention to the heart space deep within,
Going further within your heart to look for that place of stillness,
Nourishment,
And relaxation.
This is your personal place of rest.
Let awareness rest here.
You deserve to rest.
Nourish this feeling as you drift off into a deep rest.
Here we complete this new moon meditation.
