Welcome,
And thank you for joining me this evening as you prepare your mind and your body,
The vessel that allows you to experience this human life for rest.
We will do the session laying down.
Make yourself as comfortable as possible with blankets and pillows.
Sometimes I'll even use a heating pad on a love setting just to provide some warmth and comfort for my back or for my hips.
Let's start by placing one hand on our heart and the other hand on our belly.
No matter what occurred today,
The thoughts,
Actions,
Emotions,
We focus on the present right here and right now.
We start to slow down with the racing thoughts and be aware of our breathing.
This day is coming to a close and our morning actually starts the night before.
How we prepare for rest prepares us for the next day.
As you have one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly,
Focus on the beating of your heart underneath the palm of your hand and your belly as it rises with air.
Become aware of your breathing,
Taking a deep inhale through your nose all the way into your diaphragm,
Filling it up as much as you can.
With a slow and steady exhale,
Feel the belly deflate underneath your hand as you exhale out of your mouth.
Don't worry about time and put your complete focus on the present and the sensations going on within your body.
Breathe.
Now concentrate on this message to yourself.
Thank you self for showing up today,
For waking up and carrying me through this day.
Instead of focusing on things that I perhaps did not accomplish,
I will focus on all the great things,
Small and big,
That I did accomplish.
I am grateful that I was able to experience another day here on Earth.
Before we completely allow our mind and body to rest,
Let's incorporate a stretch and some soft touch to soothe ourselves.
Place the soles of your feet together and your knees open to the sides for hip opener position.
Create a diamond shape with your legs.
Use the warmth and loving touch of your own hands to massage any tightness that you may feel around your belly,
Hip flexors,
Your inner thighs.
Perhaps gently press down on your knees.
Focus on keeping your spine long,
Including your neck reaching away and your tailbone reaching in the opposite direction.
We use intuition and our own touch to help heal our own bodies and give us the love and comfort that we need.
We use our own hands to enhance our stretch.
Now keep one leg bent as it is,
As you straighten the other leg reaching it out at a diagonal,
Allowing it to rest on the bed or the mat.
Really extend that leg away from the hip,
Reaching your hip flexors,
Opening up the front part of your body,
The back part of your body all the way out through your legs and continuing to stretch your hip on the left side with the leg bent.
Continue to use your hands to help enhance your own stretch and breathe into the diaphragm,
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth and exhale as if you are fogging up a window.
Breathe.
Now we switch out the legs and the leg that was straight is now bent back into position as it was before and the bent leg is now extended out at a diagonal.
Reaching the leg away from the hips,
Opening up your body,
Continue to keep your spine long and using your own hands to give yourself some love.
Now we straighten both of the legs,
Reaching them as far away as we can and bring our arms overhead behind us or right above to the ceiling.
Just find that length all throughout your entire body as you open up,
Expanding in the front and in the back,
Reaching.
To finish the session,
Wrap your arms around your own body,
Giving yourself a hug.
Take your right hand and place it on your left upper arm and your left hand on your right upper arm and gently rub your hands up and down along your arms,
Feeling the warmth from your own touch.
There is no wrong way to using your own hands for self-comfort.
Squeezing,
Caressing,
Loving,
Deep breathing.
Let's take our hands and put both of our hands on our chest.
Thank you for the beating of my heart and for the breath that gives me life.
Thank you for this day and may I rest soundly so I may rise rested and return to gratitude to begin my day.
May my mind be clear and my heart full of love as I close my eyes and relax into my vessel with breath and softness through gentleness and self-love.
You are safe where you are within your own body.
May you rest comfortably and in a peaceful state throughout this night.
Thank you for being here.
