Hello,

Beautiful soul.

Welcome to the Simply Joyful Journey podcast.

Meditations and musings for a Simply Joyful Journey.

Settle in and let's begin.

I am the vast blue sky up above,

Watching,

Wondering,

Searching with love.

The wind,

The storms,

And the clouds go by.

Whether rain or shine,

Thoughts move through my mind.

At times my sky is blue with nary a cloud in sight.

Other times I see lightning and thunder thrashing with all of its might.

Sometimes I find I am lost in a storm,

Completely surrounded,

Not feeling love.

Confused,

Forgetting my true essence.

No matter the weather,

I am always the sky.

More and more I am able to remember this truth and remain connected as the observer,

As my thoughts pass by.

Marveling,

Wondering,

Noticing,

And as I do,

My heart is filled with love and space,

And I realize that this earth is an amazing place.

Find a comfortable seat.

Close your eyes.

Inhale,

Bringing your attention gently to your breath.

You are exactly where you need to be right now.

You are worthy of taking this time for yourself,

To reconnect with the wisdom of your soul.

Imagine that you are the vast,

Blue,

Beautiful sky.

The weather that happens in the spaciousness of your sky are your thoughts.

Notice what your current weather looks like.

Are there many clouds in the sky?

Are they fluffy or wispy?

Is it overcast?

Raining?

Is there a storm brewing on the horizon?

Just noticing what is,

Bringing your attention to the weather within you with kindness.

Continuing to breathe.

And,

Then,

Tears fleshnet Often,

We are not aware of our thoughts.

Becoming aware of our thoughts is the beginning of true freedom.

Notice any sensations in your body.

These sensations are messages helping us to navigate life,

Assisting us to get back in touch with the wisdom that is ever present within us.

Oftentimes,

We find ourselves in the midst of a storm of our thoughts,

Forgetting that we are not the storm,

Not the thoughts.

We are the vast blue sky.

The weather is just what is occurring right now.

Weather comes and goes as do our thoughts.

Remembering this is essential to living a life of presence.

It is a truly powerful practice.

When we forget that we are the sky,

And instead believe that we are the clouds,

The rain,

The hurricane,

We lose perspective.

We forget who we truly are.

As we continue to practice this,

Pausing,

Slowing down,

Remembering that our essence is actually vast,

It is not defined by any one situation or storm.

We will be able to come to this remembering more and more often during our day.

We will begin to see a weather system as it is approaching,

And stay present as it passes through our sky.

This practice is not about getting rid of the weather or the thoughts.

It is about creating space to allow ourselves to learn from life.

Remembering you are the awareness,

The sky.

Remembering this too shall pass.

Instead of becoming enmeshed in the thoughts,

Confusing ourselves with the stories that we have created within our own mind.

Remembering that we are more than the ideas,

The stories that we have created around our physical forms.

We are more than the events and the situations that are presented to us.

Zooming out to find perspective,

Allowing the weather to pass without resistance,

Letting go of resistance to what is,

Is another key to freedom.

Be gentle with yourself.

Give yourself grace.

Use your breath.

Drop into the sensations of your body.

Remembering these tools are always with you.

To help you to navigate and continuously realign yourself with your true essence.

Gently bring your attention to your breath once more.

Continue to breathe.

Beautiful work.

Gently open your eyes and find your lovely smile.
