Hello,
This is Sumit Jain and welcome to day 2 of the 21 day meditation ritual which we have started yesterday.
We got past day 1 and so welcome back and thank you for joining on day 2.
Quite often it can be the most difficult day for many people.
It sometimes is very exciting when you wake up and you say to yourself,
I don't feel like I got anything from the meditation from day 1.
What's wrong with me?
I don't feel I am enlightened and I guess it doesn't work for me.
I think if you are this kind of a person,
You are trying to be a little more aggressive.
So instead let's just keep connecting to our practice rather than looking for that moment of enlightenment for that aha moment to occur.
We can just simply place our awareness on the simple practices of meditation and all those things will flow automatically.
Because when we put our attention on the results then nothing flows.
So we just put our attention on the practice and those magnificent results will start to unfold and don't need to judge one meditation or two meditations or any meditations.
Every meditation is different and every meditation will give you a different experience.
So don't try to get the experience which you had in the first meditation again.
Just cherish the new meditation with a new experience rather than judging them.
In today's meditation rather than using mindfulness technique which we used yesterday,
Today we will use the centering power of our breath which is known as breath awareness meditation.
And instead of drifting to thoughts or sounds or physical sensations as we did yesterday,
We slowly bring our awareness to our breath and experience the stillness within.
So today we will keep our awareness on our gentle,
Deep,
Powerful,
Soft breath.
And when we notice that we have drifted away we just simply bring our awareness to the breath.
And some of you will say,
What do you mean by coming back to the breath?
It simply means being aware of the air coming in and out of you.
Notice your chest rise and fall.
Notice your stomach becoming like a balloon and contracting as you release the air from your nostrils.
How do you feel when you inhale and exhale?
What is that sensation when I exhale?
