Hello,
My friend.
And welcome to this beautiful moment of meditation that you've decided to carve out for today.
Landing here and really giving yourself permission to be as comfortable as possible.
Maybe laying down and finding a space and position that feels both relaxing and supportive today.
If it's available,
Really soaking in the moment by even grabbing a favorite pillow or a blanket and allowing yourself to immerse into full relaxation.
As you begin to settle in and feel the warmth and comfort of what is surrounding you,
We start to take inventory and we can begin by noticing the depth of our breath.
Maybe placing a hand on your heart as you begin to allow your inhales to lengthen and deepen and your exhales to be full and slow.
Inhaling at a pace that feels right to you.
And exhaling as a form of release here.
Continuing to make space for your breath.
Next,
Maybe noticing anywhere in your body where there is tension.
And seeing how you can release any tension within your muscles all the way from the top of your head,
In between your eyebrows,
Down through your body,
Your chest,
Your torso,
Your hips,
Your legs,
Your fingers,
Your toes.
Taking inventory of anywhere where you are holding and allowing yourself to release.
And maybe taking inventory now of your inner world.
How is your heart?
Really asking yourself this and accepting and loving on whatever comes up for you.
This space isn't meant to fix your feelings or to make them go away.
But it is time to simply just acknowledge them,
Show them love and the gentle support in this quiet moment of stillness.
As you continue tapping into your inner world here,
Remembering your breath,
Breathing with whatever is on your heart today.
Just as you would with a child or with a friend who maybe comes to you with a problem in life or an area they don't feel so certain about.
Can you comfort yourself in the same way?
Calling in whatever energy resonates with you.
Perhaps it is gentle,
Loving awareness,
Empathy.
Maybe envisioning yourself,
Hugging yourself or even doing that in the physical form here.
And as we continue going down this path of nurturing our being,
Maybe asking yourself,
Is there anywhere in your world where maybe you are not giving yourself enough credit?
Are there any areas of your life where you can welcome in more of this gentle energy?
Maybe taking note here in awe of the person that you are already in this moment.
And the lessons that you have learned,
The challenges you have faced to get here.
And knowing that you deserve this gentle energy to tend and nurture to yourself.
Can you notice the energy around your heart and how it is shifting to warmth and love and how all of your inner beauty shines so brightly when you just give it the chance to?
Here we can quiet the inner monologue that is always striving for perfection,
Always striving to be better.
We turn down the volume of that inner critic and we let ourselves exist as we truly are today.
Sharon Salzberg writes in her book titled Loving Kindness,
You yourself,
As much as anybody in the entire universe,
Deserves your love and affection.
When we remember this,
We stop battling with ourselves and begin to hold our own hearts with a gentle,
Unwavering kindness.
Carrying this with you,
This message that you have your own best friend within you at all times.
We have the means to tend to what we need.
And in this beautiful moment of stillness,
Maybe saying in your mind or aloud,
I see you and I love you.
I see you and I love you.
Allowing the words to soak into every fiber of your being.
Maybe breathing here with one more deep breath,
Allowing it to expand through your entire body.
Inhaling and exhaling,
Releasing anything here that is not serving you anymore.
And maybe again,
If you feel called,
Wrapping your arms around your body and giving yourself a big,
Loving squeeze.
Holding tight to this love.
This shifted heart that has entered into this gentle,
Loving,
Accepting space.
Thank you for being here today.
Thanking yourself for finding the time.
And sending you with so much love and with so much light.
Take care.
