Hello,
And welcome to the Hall of Light Meditation,
With Salala Taler.
This meditation worked with the upper dantian,
Or the celestial eye,
Sometimes referred to as the third eye,
Located on the point between our eyebrows.
The point itself is not on the outside of our head,
But located an inch or so inside of our head.
There's also a direct portal to our pineal gland,
Located deep within our brain.
Our pineal gland acts as a tremendous coordinator between molecular,
Hormonal,
Physiological,
And chemical interactions in our body.
For many spiritual traditions in the East,
Our celestial,
Or third eye,
Is said to be linked to perception,
Awareness,
Spiritual communication,
And psychic abilities.
Before we begin,
I'd like to take you on a little journey.
A spiritual journey,
We could say.
Imagine that you are at the foot of a great mountain,
A holy mountain,
A sacred mountain,
And your journey is to climb that mountain,
Going up many,
Many,
Many stairs to the very top.
So we begin our journey.
Laozi says the journey of a thousand miles begins with the very first step.
So we take our trail up the mountain,
Step-by-step,
Moment-by-moment,
Breath-by-breath,
Always moving forward,
Moving upward,
Moving inward,
As well as outward.
Really take your time with this.
Imagine that you are a spiritual pilgrim,
Going on pilgrimage to this sacred mountain,
Which contains a sacred cave.
At last,
We reach the mouth of the cave.
We enter the cave and begin moving through a very long tunnel.
The first light from the outside world comes into this tunnel,
And we can see on the walls around us paintings,
Sayings,
Poems,
From ancient cultures who have also walked this very same path that we are on right now.
As we go deeper and deeper into the very center of the sacred mountain,
The light begins to dim,
The tunnel begins to narrow,
The roof begins to lower itself,
Until we are crawling on our hands and knees,
Crawling through this tunnel deep into the sacred cave.
Yet we are not afraid,
Because we know that there is a great treasure awaiting us once we get to the very heart of the sacred mountain.
Eventually,
We start moving out of the tunnel until it starts to get brighter.
In a little while,
We find ourselves out of the tunnel,
Into the cave,
Which is very,
Very tall,
Almost like a cathedral,
And light is coming down through fissures in the earth and lighting our way.
And we see before us a small lake,
And in the middle of this lake is a very small shrine.
And we know that it is our journey that will take us to that shrine,
Deep within the sacred cave and the sacred mountain.
We walk around the lake until we find a very small,
Narrow bridge,
Which leads to that island in the center.
We walk upon this bridge,
One step at a time,
Until we reach the island in the center of the cave,
And we come up the steps into the sacred shrine,
Very small shrine.
Once we enter that shrine,
Even though it is very small from the inside,
When we get inside it seems to expand greatly and be full of glorious light.
Then we sit down in the middle of the shrine and allow the light to enter our body and being from all directions.
So this journey into the sacred mountain,
Into the sacred shrine,
Is an allegory,
A metaphor of how we bring our intention,
Our attention,
Into the very center of our brain to connect with this pineal gland,
Which sits like a small shrine in the very center of our brain.
So now we begin the Hall of Light meditation.
Begin your meditation as usual,
Breathing deeply,
Slowly,
And gently into your lower dantian,
Located in your lower abdomen.
Breathing in and out of our nose,
Tip of our tongue connected to the roof of our mouth.
Close your eyes,
The better to see with your inner eye.
Take a few breaths,
Slowly,
Deeply,
Gently,
Feeling your whole nervous system slowing down,
Becoming quiet and harmonious.
The mantra we use here is shin ping qi he,
Which means heart peaceful,
Qi harmonious.
So once you feel yourself at peace,
Allow your focus to move from your lower dantian up to your upper dantian,
To your celestial eye.
Breathe into this area for a while,
Feeling your inner eye open like a flower.
Feel the depth of this point by sending your intention deep into your brain to the very tiny and very powerful pineal gland.
As you inhale,
Breathe golden light into this area.
Do this for nine slow,
Deep,
And even breaths.
And then as you exhale,
Send out red light into the area right in front of you.
So we're inhaling golden light,
Exhaling red light,
Red,
The color of the heart.
Send this red light out into the darkness of your spiritual ignorance,
Lighting the way for you to reach deeper understanding and insight.
This place you are entering,
The inner palace or hall of light,
Is where deep transformation happens.
It is where deep healing of the mind and heart happen.
It is where you may be gifted with inner vision and psychic perception.
You may get some sudden insight into problems or issues that you've been dealing with.
You may get some inner knowing that was not available to you before.
You may receive some guidance from your higher self,
Your guiding spirits,
Or from Tao itself.
You may see lights or colors or other visions.
Enjoy them,
But do not hold on to them.
Take your time with this meditation.
One of the most important principles of Taoism is Manzo,
Going slowly.
And if you're doing this practice at night,
Be sure to bring your focus back down into your lower Dantian finish.
If you leave too much energy in your upper Dantian,
It may be difficult to fall asleep.
And if you feel dizzy or lightheaded or with a stuffy feeling in your head,
You can also bring your focus of intention down to the bottoms of your feet.
By spending a little time in this very important energetic center,
We will be able to open the portal between our pineal gland and the spiritual portal that surrounds us.
