Letting go or releasing old patterns, behaviors, and beliefs can lighten our emotional and energetic load, which allows us to become lighter in our own being. Here is one way to do that, from the great tradition of Taoism (Daoism).

As usual,

We have the tip of our tongue to the roof of our mouth,

Breathing in and out of our nose,

Breathing into lower dantian.

Breathe quietly and without movement,

Other than the slow expanding and contracting of your lower abdomen as you breathe slowly and deeply through your nose.

And it's almost like something we could call chi breathing.

Besides oxygen you're breathing in and carbon dioxide you're breathing out,

Imagine that you're actually breathing in chi from the great ocean of chi that we live in.

And instead of going into our nose all the way down into our lungs and then down to lower dantian,

We imagine that we're breathing that chi directly into our lower dantian.

And also feel it fill up our chest and all other parts of our body,

Breathing in this healing,

Constructive,

Inspiring,

Illuminating chi.

And allow it to fill up our whole body,

Our whole psyche,

Our whole spirit.

Now begin to release all worries,

Concerns,

Fears,

Excitements,

Plans and daydreaming.

Breathe in,

As we breathe out we release all these concerns,

Worries,

Fears,

Even the so called positive elements of our life,

What we're excited about,

What we're planning about and daydreaming about.

Also releasing all that out so that we can really become that empty vessel.

Release your need to attain some higher plane of existence.

We think we're doing these very special spiritual practices that are going to make us much higher level people.

And while that is true,

At this moment we're just going to forget about that even,

Release our attempts to become more enlightened.

And release your idea of your idea,

Your picture,

Your idea of what a quote spiritual person is.

So release your wishes,

Release your need for approval from the higher realms.

The approval of maybe people that have been in your life,

Are in your life,

Or your need for self-approval to approve even of yourself.

Many people go through their life disapproving of themselves.

So we're going to release that too.

The empty vessel is just empty,

It's not yin,

It's not yang,

It's just empty,

Ready to be filled.

Release your wishes to become enlightened or attain Tao or become a Buddha.

Release your need to be right in any situation,

In any argument,

In any communication,

In any practice that you're doing.

Release this idea that you have to be doing it the so-called right way,

Or when you're in a communication with someone,

You need to be sure that they're wrong and that we're right.

Let go of that too.

Release your wish to become wise,

Or to attain something,

To attain something that you're not right now,

To attain something different than who you are right now.

Sure,

We have goals and we do these practices and we have goals and we would like to learn things and experience things and perhaps let our life become a little smoother,

But sometimes being too attached to those goals are what get in the way of actually attaining them.

Release your idea of what a sage or enlightened being is.

It's not like high school or college,

You get a certain degree or you attain a certain,

Get a certain diploma or something,

Now you're an enlightened person and all enlightened people are the same and you never have any problems anymore and everything becomes so much easier.

We all have these concepts of what it must be like to be enlightened.

We need to let go of that too.

This is the practice,

Sitting in releasing,

Sitting in silent,

Sitting in silent,

Attentive,

Relaxation,

Relaxation not,

Relaxation does not mean collapse.

Attentive relaxation also means you're attending,

You're attentive to all the thoughts and feelings and emotions that are going through you at this moment.

You're observing them,

But you're not getting hooked by them.

Sitting in silent,

Attentive relaxation,

Forgetting what needs to be forgotten,

At least for this moment.

Maybe if they're important,

You'll remember them later.

This is the goal and the journey.

This is the lesson and the reward,

The challenge and the sweet spot of surrender.

Spend as much time as you can in this space.

We do these practices and we do them fairly short because I want to make sure I get a lot of material in here for you each week,

But when you're doing them on your own,

You have them in the book,

Spend at least 20 minutes doing each one of these or whatever the ones that you're drawn to.

Spend some real time.

And then forgetting what is of no importance,

Recall what is important.

Pay attention to your teachers,

Whether you know them or not,

Whether they're in form or out of form,

Whether they've been in your life for many years or only showed up for a moment.

I'm sure we all have these people in our life that taught us a lesson that we're studying with now or we studied with or we interacted with at some point in our life,

Whether it was our third grade teacher,

Whether it was a yoga teacher,

Whether it was a spouse or a parent,

Whether it was a medical catastrophe.

Give thanks for all you have and all you will have.

Give thanks for the challenges as well as the blessings.

Remember with gratitude comes grace.

And always remember at the end of any meditation,

Especially ones we're doing in the evening for you folks on the East Coast,

That even if you start getting up in your head in the meditation,

Be sure and bring your energy back down into your lower Dantian so you don't end the meditation or end the evening with too much stuck in your head.

When we're doing an empty vessel kind of meditation,

You may get instructions or inspiration,

Illumination,

And it's fine to write them down,

Even if you need to open your eyes for a few moments to write them down and then go back into the meditation.

And you can always tell something comes through that is not something you would have just thought about in your thought processes on your own,

Something that just comes to you out of left field.

Remember it or write it down and go back to it later.

Because these are the times when we empty our mind,

We empty our thought processes that we can hear what in the Bible calls the still small voice within.

So that's another way you can use these kinds of meditations.

And sometimes or perhaps even often it's scary to let go of certain things,

To release certain things,

Release certain thought processes or emotional processes that we are so used to that are actually holding us back.

But we're so used to them that we're not quite sure what it would be without them.

Who would we be if we didn't have these ideas about ourselves or these sometimes very negative feelings about ourselves and it can be scary to release them as well.

But it's the goal here,

There is a goal to become the empty vessel.

We can give ourselves permission to even let go of the things that are holding us back from becoming who we really are meant to be,

To really fulfill our destiny.

So to end we put our palms together in front of our chest and rub them together briskly 36 times.

Rub them over your eyes,

Breathe the warmth of your love going into your eyes,

Into your brain,

To your pineal gland.

And often after a meditation like this you might feel a little lighter in your heart,

In your spirit.

feeling buoyant and placid within myself. I had a challenging yet enlightening evening last night that showed me the conflation of money in the realm of creativity and art. taking a moment to release these acknowledgements and recognitions has provided me space to hear my own inner voice again, transcending from the need to understand in the 3D to the need for nothing in the 5D. grateful for this empty vessel, and for this practice. 😌🙏🏾
