This practice includes a soothing guided meditation, intended to open up the possibility of discovering what it is that "you really want." Maria gently leads you to immerse yourself in a state of contemplative introspection and explores the ways you can achieve your deepest desires. This meditation is followed by an extended period of silence. This period is ideal for calming and clearing your mind. Silence is your music. You may want to have a pad and pen nearby to write down your thoughts after this silent meditation. If you choose to repeat this practice, notice what consistantly comes up for you. This could be an insightful indication into which direction you want your life to follow.

Hello,

This is Maria Baltazzi and welcome to Silent Wisdom Meditations.

And today we are going to do a meditation about what you really want.

And we use silence so that we can really sit into that stillness and in that stillness really connect with that deeper wisdom that we each have inside of us.

And we get so busy in the doing of our lives that we forget to just be as in human being.

We are human beings as opposed to human doers.

And so I like to use silence in my meditations so that you can really focus on what is going on inside of you.

Focus on your breath,

Focus on your heartbeat,

Focus on the thoughts that arise and then dissipate.

And that you are really contained in that silence as opposed to listening to music or anything else other than my voice and stillness.

Because it is in that stillness where you really can hear what are your deepest desires.

So as we get ready for this meditation,

Settle into a comfortable position.

I recommend sitting up but you can lie down if that is more comfortable for you.

If you are sitting,

Just have a nice upright position.

Put your hands comfortably in your lap.

Right on the floor.

And then just follow my voice as you close your eyes.

Releasing any thoughts of what it took for you to sit in this moment.

Releasing any thoughts of what you are going to do when we were done with our meditation.

We will sit together for about 15 minutes and that will be 15 minutes of silence.

So I am going to take you into this silence.

And so as you are restful and sitting comfortably,

Start to breathe in and out of your nostrils.

And just keep the breath gentle and smooth.

And if you are still agitated from the day and coming to sit down,

Just go ahead and just keep breathing gently and eventually your body will settle,

Your breath will settle,

And it will become a nice smooth breathing in,

Breathing out.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

And paying attention to your breath as it comes in through your nose and travels down into your heart center and then back out your heart center,

Out your nose,

And then back in.

So just notice your breath coming in and out and as it comes in through your nose and settles into your heart,

Really feel your heart.

Even put your hands at your heart if that helps to anchor where your focus is.

Because what you want to do in this meditation is really connect to your heart center.

This is your place of emotional wisdom.

This is where you will find your guidance.

This is what will give you your direction,

Your true north as opposed to the chatter that goes on in your mind.

And often that chatter is filled with what-ofs and should-ofs and fears and limiting thoughts.

And right now you just want to try and release that and get beyond that and sink into your heart and really connect with it and really listen to what your heart has to say.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Keeping your eyes closed.

As you're breathing in and your breath is coming into your heart center,

Just fill it with air and then fill it with love.

And fill it with gratitude.

Fill it with all the things that you love.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

And as you are sitting in your breath and as you are coming into your heart center,

Notice what comes up.

As you are thinking about love,

As you are thinking about gratitude,

What is coming up?

And as each thought comes up,

Just notice it without attachment,

Without going for a ride with its story.

Just notice what comes up.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Feel your heart.

Feel your heart filled with love.

Feel your heart filled with gratitude.

Know that your heart will give you the wisdom you need and point you in the direction you need and want to go.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

And as thoughts of other things arise about your day or worries about finances or jobs,

Or just notice them and let those things go and just bring your focus to your breath as it's coming in and out of your heart.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Feeling your heartbeat beat,

Beat,

Beat.

Feel its energy radiating outward,

Warm and nurturing.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Now,

Silently to yourself say,

I am in your first and last name,

Noticing what comes up.

As you breathe in,

Breathe out.

Now silently say,

You're first.

Say I am in your first name.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Noticing what comes up without attachment.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Now just simply say,

I am.

Noticing once again what comes up.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Focusing on your breath as it's coming in through your nostrils and down into your heart,

Feeling the warmth of your heart.

Feeling how soothing,

How nurturing.

Breathing in to its wisdom.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Now ask,

Who am I?

And as thoughts come up,

Just notice them without running away with the story or judgment.

Just who am I?

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Now for the next 15 minutes,

We are going to sit in silence.

I'll keep track of the time,

And you are following your breath as it's coming in and out of your heart center,

And you are feeling its warmth and richness and wisdom.

Do this with the question,

What do I really want?

What do I really,

Really want?

And as we sit in stillness together for the next 15 minutes,

Just notice what comes up.

What do I really,

Really want?

Some of the thoughts that may have come up maybe at the start of your meditation,

They were more material,

Thinking about the car you might want or the house you want to buy or the vacation you want to go on.

And as you went further and deeper into your meditation,

Maybe you started to notice what was coming up or feelings of wanting love or peace or tranquility or wisdom.

Listen to those.

Listen to both the material and the more ethereal spiritual.

Because all of those can exist.

You do not need to have one versus the other.

Both can coexist.

And I would suggest listening to this meditation a few times to see what consistently comes up for you.

And maybe the next time or two when you do this,

You might have a notepad with you or your cell phone to jot down what sticks out in your mind.

And after a few times of doing this and seeing what continues to come up,

You know,

Choose the top one to three things that really resonate with you in terms of what your heart desires.

And then really set the intention to go after those things.

Not in a craving,

Clutching sort of way,

But just point your compass in that direction and focus on those things that your heart is telling you you really,

Truly want.

Because when you go after the things that you really,

Truly want,

You feel better about yourself.

You feel better about your life.

You feel more content,

More at peace.

And so that is the thought that I will leave you with,

Is to listen and follow your heart.

Till we meet again.

This is Maria Baltazzi.

And thank you for joining me for this silent wisdom meditation.

The cogent question... what do I really want... is central. A lovely encounter with authenticity.

I'm simply amazed how good it feels to sit in and breathe in light. While I at first imagined that my mind would fire one thought after the other the opposite happened: my inner wisdom "spoke" to me calmly, encouraging me. It felt like true warmth, like true love.
