Welcome to this meditation, this brief pause to steady your mind during the whirlwind of your day, to create a moment of peace from within. This meditation is a breathing-centered practice that you can always return to doing for any length of time that serves you, wherever you are sitting. You can do this as an open-eyed meditation. However, I suggest that it is closed-eye shut or with using a gentle half-shut gaze. So try to be in a place where you feel comfortable to sit and lower your eyelids. I will keep track of our meditation time. In the background, you will hear the healing, calming sound of waves gently coming up on the shore. The long measured breaths towards the beginning of this practice are meant to anchor you into the present moment while activating your parasympathetic nervous system, which to help relieve stress, and calm, soothe the mind.

Hello,

My name is Maria Baltazzi and welcome to Silent Wisdom Meditation.

This brief pause to steady your mind during the whirlwind of your day,

This right here,

Right now,

Is a place to create a moment of peace within.

First let us begin by settling into a comfortable meditation position,

Lowering your eyelids,

And setting the intention to release all thoughts of where you need to go,

What you need to do,

And whom you need to meet.

Breathe deeply.

Feel yourself becoming present to this moment of ease,

Of self nourishment,

Of self care.

Take several long breaths in through your nose,

Hold for a beat at the top of your breath,

Slightly part your lips,

And slowly exhale all your breath out of your mouth.

It may help you to anchor your mind and breathe by inhaling and exhaling to a count of five or by silently spelling the word peace.

Inhale through your nose,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Hold a beat,

Exhale out your mouth,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Breathe in,

P-E-A-C-E,

Hold a beat,

Breathe out,

P-E-A-C-E,

Hold a beat,

Breathe out,

P-E-A-C-E.

Now keep with the same breath.

In the background is the healing,

Calming sound of waves gently coming up onto the shore of a sandy beach dotted with lazy low slung palm trees.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your mouth.

Inhale through your nose,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Breathe in,

P-E-A-C-E,

Hold a beat,

Exhale out your mouth,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Breathe in,

P-E-A-C-E,

Hold a beat,

Exhale out your mouth.

For the next five minutes,

Allow your breath its own rhythm,

Though instead of exhaling out your mouth,

Inhale out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out through your nose.

I will keep track of the time,

If thoughts arise,

Simply notice them without latching on to any story or judgment.

Thoughts are like waves coming in and out of the shore.

As quickly as they come onto the beach of your mind,

They will recede.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose,

And continue on your own.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

Breathe in through your nose,

Breathe out your nose.

As we begin to bring our meditation to an end,

Know that this is one you can always return to doing for any length of time that serves you.

Thank you for sharing your meditation with me.

The light in me sees the light in you.

This is Maria Baltasi.

Until we meet again,

May peace be with you.

And with all those around you.

I loved the easy-going guidance. Not too much, not too little, not too repetitive, not too picky. Lovely.
