What's up legend?
Gratitude is a powerful tool that can shift us from a state of scarcity to a mindset of abundance.
Research shows that gratitude isn't just a bubbly warm feeling that makes us feel good inside.
It's a state of being that can lead to better health outcomes,
A life filled with more happiness,
More fulfillment,
And a deeper sense of wisdom and understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
This meditation is for anyone looking to channel the life-changing power of gratitude or if you're simply looking for a quick way to shift your mental state in a more positive direction today,
Well you're in the right place.
We will start off with some grounding breaths to set the mood and then we'll spend some time contemplating some of the great things you already have going on in your life right now.
Let's begin by getting into a nice comfortable meditation position,
One that allows for you to be alert yet relaxed.
I like to sit on the edge of a chair with my feet flat on the ground,
My spine tall,
My palms gently resting on my thighs,
And with my eyes closed.
But this is your meditation and I want you to set up in a way that feels right to you.
Let's kick this thing off with some grounding breaths.
I want you to inhale and fill up through the nose,
Hold at the top of the breath for five seconds,
And then breathe out through your mouth on the exhale.
Let's kick this thing off.
Hold for one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Fill up.
Hold.
Hold.
Let's continue for a couple more breaths.
Inhale.
Last breath.
Now release that technique and just begin to find the natural cadence of your breath here.
Now let's go right into a contemplation section of our meditation.
Let's use this time to view our life through a lens of abundance to recognize the greatness that is already surrounding us.
I want you to call to mind a person that you are grateful for.
It could be a friend,
A family member,
Maybe even someone who's brightened up your life from afar.
Sit for a second and visualize this individual and think about why you're grateful for them.
How does that feel?
What emotions or sensations arise?
I want you to call to mind a thing or place that you are grateful for.
Maybe it's something that makes your life easier or a location that just feels right when you're there.
How does that feel?
What emotions or sensation arise there?
Finally,
I want you to call to mind something about yourself that you're grateful for.
Maybe it's a strength that you have,
A characteristic about yourself that you admire,
Or maybe something that you overcame or accomplished.
We rarely take the time to celebrate ourselves.
Now's the chance.
How does it feel?
What emotions or sensations arise there?
I want you to hold on to these feelings and let's return to our breath.
What I really want you to encapsulate here is that where your attention goes,
Your energy flows.
What we choose to focus on in our life magnifies.
The more we can focus on the positive,
The more doors open to more positive and abundance flowing our way.
Let's end this exactly in the same way that we began it.
We're going to fill up.
We'll hold at the top for five seconds and we'll exhale through the mouth for three breaths.
Deep inhale.
Hold for one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Last breath together.
Gently wiggle the fingers and toes.
Look to the left,
Look to the right.
Gently open your eyes if you have them closed.
As you enter into the world,
I want you to bring this feeling of gratitude with you and continue to choose to focus on the positive.
It opens more doors to discovering more of the greatness and abundance that is already present inside of your life.
I love you.
I appreciate you.
Get out into the world and crush it today.
