Let's start with a nice deep breath,
Settling into the place we are right here,
Right now.
Allowing a relaxing in the shoulders and the face,
Throughout the whole body,
And allowing ourselves to just become very present in this moment.
With every exhale,
Releasing and relaxing into this little bit of time we've given ourselves.
I'd like to invite you to envision a safe,
Comforting place that you can bring into your imagination.
This might be a place you know and you're familiar with,
Brings you a great deal of comfort.
Perhaps it's a place in nature.
Perhaps it is a place that is of your childhood or in your home.
Allow yourself to just feel into the comfort of such a space.
Then I'd like to invite you to imagine that the most compassionate being you could possibly imagine is available to join you in that space,
If you would like to invite them in.
This compassionate being may be of spirit form.
It may be someone who has passed on from your early memories,
Or it may even be someone who is alive and in your life now,
But you see them as an incredibly compassionate and loving human.
This compassionate being is wise and all-knowing.
They are free of judgment.
They carry a smile and a gentleness in their face and in their body.
And if you would like,
You can welcome them to come and sit with you.
You may decide to take a moment and share something with them,
Speak to them,
Or just share with them through your heart,
Your own pain or sorrow,
The challenges you face,
The questions that are in your mind,
The uncertainty that you face.
If you'd like to share that with them,
Do so in whatever way feels most comfortable.
Sense how they listen deeply.
They look upon you with gentle softness in their eyes.
They communicate through their body and their face and their eyes how much they understand.
And enjoy their gentle presence,
Their warm acceptance.
If they were to say anything to you,
What might they say?
What words of encouragement can you hear from them?
Words of acceptance,
Words of love.
And now they offer you something.
In their hands,
They reach out,
And you reach your hands towards them,
Palms up,
To receive a gift.
You look down into your hands,
And what gift do you see there?
It may not be a physical form.
Allow whatever comes into your mind to be there.
It may be a physical object,
But it also might just be a felt sense.
As you look back upon this loving,
Compassionate being,
You're ready to let them go.
They slowly dissolve away with a smile,
Heartfelt kindness.
And as you take a deep breath in,
Recognize that they actually have not left.
But that this wisdom and compassion has already been gifted to you and is within you.
In fact,
It has always been there.
This activation of self-compassion and kindness,
You sense a feeling of being resourced.
Your own strength,
Your own wisdom is available to you.
Remember that you can call on this any time you need.
Taking a deep breath in,
Return back to our present moment,
Feeling your body right where it is.
Awaken your senses to come back into the room that you're in,
Feeling the sensations of sitting in the chair,
The sounds you hear.
The smells.
And again,
Returning your eyes to the room around you,
Seeing all of the things that surround you right here,
Right now.
Meet them with gentle kindness and acceptance.
A slight smile on the heart and on the face as you proceed into your day.
