Hello there and welcome.
I'm Rev Skip and this is Wellness Wake Up for the Emotional Body.
I'm glad you're here.
Before we dive deep into a contemplative meditation,
I want to go over a few simple principles about emotions.
Number one,
There is a difference between emotions and feelings.
Emotions is the state of awareness.
Feelings are how we experience our emotions.
The way to put it,
Emotions are existential while feelings are experiential.
There are five categories of emotions.
First category,
Enjoyment.
Second category is sadness.
Third category is fear.
Fourth category is anger.
The fifth category is disgust.
In each category of emotions,
There are different ways we describe what we are experiencing.
When the emotion of enjoyment is happening,
We describe it as happiness,
Love,
Relief,
Contentment,
Joy,
Excitement,
And compassion.
When we are experiencing sadness,
We describe it as loneliness,
Disappointment,
Grieving,
Unhappy,
Lost,
Or troubled.
When we are in fear,
We describe the experience as worried,
Doubtful,
Nervous,
Anxious.
When we are in the midst of anger,
We use words like frustrated,
Peeved,
Bitter,
Mad.
There are words to describe disgust as dislike,
Loathing,
Offended,
Revulsion.
The first emotion of enjoyment is what we want to experience.
It lifts our vibration.
It lifts our energy.
The last four will lead to depression,
Addiction,
Or what I like to call a dark night of the soul.
We must remember that we are not our emotions.
We are experiencing emotions.
So I want us to think about three major points of emotions.
Awareness.
I am having an emotion.
Understanding.
What emotion am I having and why am I having it?
And acceptance.
It's okay to have an emotion.
Acceptance brings us to management.
If we can accept the energy that we are experiencing,
It helps us to shift from an unwanted emotion to the energy that lifts us up.
So let's meditate.
I invite you to get into a space that you love.
Let's get comfortable.
And as you are relaxing the body and beginning to close your eyes,
I want you to go within,
Shut out any external distractions.
Our contemplative meditation today is simply about becoming aware of the emotions we experience.
And then we will contemplate what management is being called for the shift to happen.
And then we will finish off with affirmations.
Begin to follow your breath.
Begin to relax.
And if you have brought some unwanted emotions into this experience,
For the next few minutes,
Just let go.
It's okay that you have had emotions that is a human state.
This is a time for you to remember your spirit.
Follow your breath.
Get your own rhythm and allow your body to just relax.
And as we go on this journey together,
I will be giving you thoughts to contemplate.
Give yourself the space to feel the energy that these thoughts might bring up.
Continue to follow your breath.
So,
Our first contemplative thought.
I am not my emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am not my emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
It is okay for me to have an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
Am I being driven by my emotions or by my spirit?
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
What emotions are dominating my life?
I am experiencing an emotion.
I have dominion over all my emotions.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
What tools do I have to manage my emotions?
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
Spirit growth and transformation has taken place because of my emotions.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am willing to release unwanted emotions.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I am experiencing an emotion.
I have dominion over all of my emotions.
I am experiencing an emotion.
So just begin to deepen your breath.
Begin to bring your awareness back into the space that you are in.
Just wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Gently open up your eyes.
Give thanks for this experience.
So thank you for joining me on this journey of emotional wellness.
I bless you.
I honor you and I thank spirit for you.
Until next time,
I'm Rev Skip.
And remember,
Transformation is a choice.
Be well.
