And welcome.
My name is Skip Jennings.
I'm an Agape licensed spiritual practitioner and transformational coach.
This is a contemplative meditation.
We contemplate thoughts as we listen and we embrace the downloads.
This meditation is focusing on the Yamas.
The Yamas are a yogic principle and practice.
Harmonious integration with others.
So I invite you to get comfortable seated or lying down.
I want to embrace a erect long body if we're seated or a long relaxed body if we're laying down.
Close your eyes and just follow your breath.
In this meditation,
We will contemplate five principles of the Yamas.
Set out the outer noise and open up the inner ear.
Close the outer eyes and open up the third eye.
Before we begin,
I would like to evoke the ancestors.
The ones who have come before us.
Our teachers,
Our gurus,
Our avatars,
Our guides.
We open up a space to learn.
So let's contemplate our first Yama.
Ahimsa.
Nonviolence or non-harming.
Have we been gentle with ourselves?
Have we been kind in how we speak to ourselves or about ourselves?
Have we taken care of our bodies?
Have we been loving kind to ourselves?
Have we been kind to others?
Have we been gentle in how we've interacted in the grocery store,
On the streets,
As we drive?
Non-harming or non-violence begins with ourselves and spreads and radiates to others.
Satya.
Truthfulness.
Have we been honest with ourselves when we speak?
Have we been truthful with what we see and what we think?
Have we spoke truthfulness to others?
Are we honest with how we feel about ourselves,
About the situation?
Truth.
Bustaya.
Non-stealing or non-stealing.
Have I honored my time or have I wasted it?
Have I stolen valuable time of learning?
Have I been honest in my interactions with others?
Have I wasted their time?
Have I stolen other dreams from other people?
Have I encouraged or have I diminished hopes?
Apari rahah.
Non-possessiveness.
Am I possessing something that is not mine?
Am I attaching to thoughts that no longer serve?
Am I attaching to unforgiveness?
Am I attached to the outcome of any situation?
Brahmacharya.
The maintenance of vitality.
Have I conserved my energy or have I just given it away to those who do not deserve?
Have I maintained a sense of reverence of my body,
My mind,
My energy?
Have I participated in a way that uplifts my frequency?
Have I supported others in the place of uplifting their energy?
Take a deep breath in.
A big exhale.
So begin to bring your awareness back into the space that you're in.
Begin to open your eyes and begin to be aware of the space and the life you live.
And listen as I bless our session.
So beginning in gratitude,
And love,
And the highest appreciation for this time together.
As we continue to contemplate our harmonious integration with others,
We recognize there is only one and we are the unique emanation of the one.
And as we connect with ourselves and remember to love,
We embrace each other.
So I'm grateful for this moment,
Grateful for this time,
And grateful for this contemplative meditation.
And so it is.
Amen.
