Reflecting On Your Mountain Climb

If you are someone who pushes forward no matter what, climbing with great effort and inner strength, well it's time to pause and reflect on how far you have come. Simonette will guide you to climb the Mountain and to take a rest when you reach the plateau. Enjoy acknowledging how far you have come. Well done to you.

Transcript

You need to find yourself a comfortable space.

It might be sitting in your favorite chair or lying on the floor or in your bed.

Make sure that you won't be disturbed for the next 20 or 30 minutes.

And so finding that comfortable place now.

Beginning to settle yourself.

Closing your eyes.

Beginning to bring your focus within.

And you can do this by focusing on the area of your nostrils and being aware of your breath.

And as you breathe in,

You're breathing in relaxation.

And as you breathe out,

Breathing away any tensions or concerns.

Breathing in relaxation.

And breathing away any troubles or tensions.

And by just simply focusing on your breathing,

You're allowing your body to relax naturally and easily.

And so feel the air as it passes through your nostrils,

Breathing into your stomach.

Relaxing and soothing.

And breathing away any tensions.

And you can continue to focus in on your breathing just for a few more moments.

Allowing the body to relax.

So each breath,

Breathing in relaxation.

And breathing away any tensions.

That's right.

The body relaxing naturally and easily.

And you're beginning to be aware that you can keep this focus.

That you can allow your body to relax.

And now I'd like you just to focus in on the whole of your body.

And just notice how your body is feeling.

So you're scanning from the top of your head,

Moving all the way down through your body.

Just noticing if there's any parts that are feeling uncomfortable or uneasy.

Just being aware of what your body is feeling.

Bringing your awareness all the way down through your legs and into your feet and your toes.

And so just making sure that you're positioning yourself comfortably.

And now I'd like you to bring your awareness back to the top of your head.

Focusing in on the top of your head and imagining that there's a very warm,

Healing light.

That's penetrating gently through the top of your head.

And moving all the way down through your body.

And that light is soothing and relaxing to your body.

And so just imagining that now.

Allowing the light to shine all through your body.

As if your body is an open vase.

Receiving all of that nourishing light,

Healing rays,

Warming and soothing your body from within.

And so as the light moves its way down through your body,

Making its way to your feet.

You can imagine there's a gentle pressure just moving through the soles of your feet and the light is radiating out through the soles of your feet and your toes.

Pushing aside any tensions or uncomfortable feelings of the past.

And so you begin to be aware that your body is feeling very calm,

Very relaxed.

A great sense of openness,

Filled with light.

And it's as if that light and that energy moves throughout your body.

Radiating out through your skin and surrounding you with a wonderful nourishing light.

Keeping you warm and safe.

And you're breathing easily and effortlessly.

So relax now.

A special sense of inner peace.

And so your body can continue to relax for the duration of this relaxation.

And now I would like you to imagine yourself in a beautiful valley.

And it's a warm,

Sunny morning.

And you can see colorful flowers around you and grass and trees.

And there's a freshness in the air.

A cool feeling on your face.

And your body feels warm.

There's a sense of excitement in the air.

As you know that you're going to make your climb today.

And you can see the mountain just ahead of you.

And you're feeling very strong and capable.

As you make your way now,

Finding your own pathway.

Finding your own pathway towards the top of that mountain.

And so you begin your climb.

Feeling full of energy and strength.

And as you climb,

You notice the pathway,

What it's like for you.

How steep is the climb.

And you look ahead and you can still see that there's quite a way to go.

The sky is blue and there's a few clouds around.

And the sun is shining through the trees.

And there's a wonderful play of reflections and light.

And you keep climbing upwards.

And you come to a special spot.

It's a little bit more difficult,

A little bit more strenuous for you.

And you need to use your hands to guide you.

And you safely make your way through that difficult path.

And you're getting higher and higher.

Moving higher up on the mountain.

And then you become aware of a misty,

Kind of damp feeling around your face.

And you realize that you're actually surrounded by a beautiful cloud.

And you wonder if this cloud reaches all the way up to the top.

And whether or not you'll be able to see a view.

But you continue to climb.

Being careful.

Making your way to the top.

Ah,

Now the cloud seems to have moved aside or you've moved through it.

And once again you can see the blue sky and the sun.

Get a big smile.

Your heart feeling glad.

You're nearly at the top now.

And it seems as if the climb is easier now.

You seem to weigh less.

And you're keen to get to the top.

And now as you stand on the top of the mountain.

It's quite a vast plateau.

And you can stand there now.

And you can see around you completely.

You can see the valley below.

You can see just how far you've come.

There's a great sense of inner strength and vigor at being at the top of the mountain.

And it's quite windy.

And you feel the cool breeze on your face and your hair.

And you stand there and breathe in all the beauty that surrounds you.

It's as if every cell in your body can see the beauty too.

The air is clean and the silence complete.

And you decide to make your way just down from the top to a little sheltered spot.

And so you walk back now to a ledge which has lovely soft green grass.

And as you sit down into the grass and lie back.

You feel the lovely soft support of the grass.

And there is an aroma of grass and earth.

And you take a nice deep breath and rest back comfortably.

Delighted in your progress.

Proud of your achievements.

And as you gaze at the valley below.

You have some time to reflect now.

On your achievements.

You're able to recognize your own inner talents.

And you can reflect on how sometimes in your life.

Those difficult times.

That it is important to rest.

To take time out for yourself.

And then you're able to continue on.

With renewed energy and vigor.

And that you can enjoy that journey.

As much as you can enjoy the destination.

And you feel so calm and relaxed now.

And there is a richness and fullness in your heart.

And you have a deep sense of your own inner confidence.

And perseverance.

You know that you can climb that mountain if you desire.

You can choose to rest when you need to.

Continue when you're ready.

And you can congratulate yourself on your progress every step of the way.

Resting back.

Enjoying the view.

Feeling a sense of pride.

And confidence in yourself.

You're protected and safe.

And you're free.

To climb any mountain you desire.

And to enjoy the journey.

And to be proud of your achievements.

And so allow yourself to keep that inner confidence and self-regard.

Know that it's with you all the time.

And sometimes you might be preoccupied or busy reaching the top.

And so it's at those times you might look at a tree or gaze at the sky.

And you'll be reminded just to take that time to collect yourself.

To give yourself nurturing time.

So that you can enjoy your journey.

And that there are many mountains that you might decide to climb.

And so you can remember that when you climb your next mountain.

And when that climb begins to be difficult.

You can remember.

To stop.

To reflect within.

To allow your body to re-energise itself.

And then you can begin your climb again.

With renewed vigor and confidence in yourself and your abilities.

Allow yourself to feel magnificent.

You can evaluate yourself highly.

And know that you're always learning.

So as you make your way back now.

Bringing your awareness into your body.

Give yourself that pat on the shoulder.

Congratulate yourself for your achievements.

Give yourself a big hug.

And you can always celebrate your achievements.

And so,

Noticing just how relaxed your body is.

Your body has been relaxing well.

And your mind has used this time to support you.

To give you that confidence in yourself.

Feel the fullness and the richness in your body.

And know that that is within you.

And within your reach.

All you need to do is give yourself the time to go within.

And to feel that inner peace.

And as you finish your relaxation now.

Bringing with you a sense of that inner confidence.

And inner strength.

So that you can be aware of it in your everyday life.

And this relaxation time that you give to yourself.

Is a wonderful gift.

And when you finish this relaxation.

Your body will feel refreshed and energized.

And you can enjoy that self confidence.

So I'm going to count from one to seven.

And I'd like you just to use that time to reorientate yourself fully.

Into the here and now,

Into your body.

And when I reach the number seven.

You can open your eyes.

Feeling refreshed and alert.

So one,

Being aware of your breathing.

Two,

Coming into your body.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

And seven.

Opening your eyes.

Looking around.

Your body feeling refreshed and alert.

This was amazing. The visualization was a near-perfect replication of an actual experience I had at one of my favorite mountains in Alaska, Mt. Marathon, where my then-fiancé (now husband of 21+ years) and I used to hike. We even use those trips as our meeting places for dreams when we are separated on business. You described it with such vivid detail, it brought back all those feelings of peace, relaxation, contentment, and excitement of the rest of the climb to come. I had recalled the first three of those, but forgotten about the excitement of the challenge that the continued climb would bring. As I am working to expand some personal and professional opportunities for myself while dealing with new (in the last ten years) physical challenges, this meditation brought everything I needed together, and I now sit with tears of joy in my eyes and a renewed sense of peace and positive anticipation for what is to come, knowing deep in my heart and gut that it's OKAY to take a break to rest before continuing on. (I have had a lot of challenges allowing myself to do so since the onset of these medical issues.) Thank you so very, very much for sharing this with me and the world. I have bookmarked it and downloaded it as well for repeat listening. I see the light in you (through a misty, excited, nostalgic smile). 🀲❀️🀲

Beautiful meditation. I was sitting on my balcony where I am well sheltered. When we reached the top of the mountain it started pouring rain. The rain sounds and mountain top were an amazing meditative experience. One I will remember well. Thank you!
