So we are now going to move into a short meditation that will help you find a relationship with your inner child.

So take a moment,

Take a breath,

Find a seat and start to breathe.

You can either do this meditation sitting upright or lying down.

I want you to get into your body for a moment here.

So start to feel your hands,

Your fingers,

Your toes.

Start to feel the energy on your skin.

Start to feel all of the molecules in your body starting to release any tension they could be holding.

And as you breathe,

I want you to drop down into your sacrum or your tailbone.

And start to imagine energy going down from your spinal cord all the way down to your root chakra,

To your lower back.

And then connecting an energy cord that goes from that lower back into the earth.

Whether you are lying down or standing up,

Just intend for it to happen.

And as you are relaxing,

I want you to feel the muscles in your face starting to soften your forehead,

Your eyes,

Feeling your inner ears start to relax.

Relaxing the tongue resting on the roof of the mouth.

Allowing your shoulders to drop down away from your ears.

Any tension that could be held in the belly,

Allowing your gut to relax.

Allowing the hips to soften,

The legs and the shins and the knees to release.

And I want you to think back when the last time you were triggered.

Triggered emotionally,

Something upset you,

Something rubbed you the wrong way,

Someone upset you,

Rubbed you the wrong way.

I want you to bring that into your awareness.

Good.

Now I want you to feel where you feel sensations in your body when you think about this experience,

This trigger.

And just observe where you feel them in your body.

Could be a tightness in the chest,

Could be a closing up of the throat,

Could be a nauseous feeling.

There's many sensations the body can experience through this and nothing is wrong.

Everything is allowed to be experienced in this moment.

So I'd like you just to feel it.

Now I'd like you to pinpoint the exact location when you think about this experience or this trigger,

Where it is in your body.

See if you can locate it.

And see if there is any sort of texture related to it.

Does it feel sharp?

Does it feel dull?

Does it feel fluffy?

Does it feel solid?

And just observing this,

Observing this energy in your body,

Is there a shape that this energy takes?

Does it encompass your entire body?

Is it maybe just a small marble sized energy in the heart?

Is it misshapen?

Is it specific?

Does it have hard angles?

Good.

And then I want you to feel if there is any sort of color that comes up when you observe this trigger,

When you observe this sensation.

Good.

And now I want you to ask yourself,

When is the first time I felt this sensation?

I felt this emotion.

Not the last time,

The one that you just brought up in your mind,

But the first time.

So just drop into observation and just ask,

When is the first time I felt this emotion?

And just let your mind and your imagination take you back to your past or maybe to another experience.

You could get an image in your head.

You could hear a song.

You could,

You know,

See something or feel something that brings you back to another experience.

I'd like you to observe this now.

And you might need to pause the recording and come back to it if you need a little more time.

So when you just observed that first experience,

It could have taken you back to maybe a childhood memory.

If it didn't quite take you back to a childhood memory,

I ask that you do this one more time.

Drop into observation and ask,

When is the first time I felt this?

We want to get you back into a childhood memory.

So once you've got that,

Go to see if you can kind of guess the age of this child.

If you can see him or her as this young child,

See what age he or she might be.

See if you can bring him or her into your vision.

This is you as a child experiencing the same emotion that you're experiencing now.

I want you to see just in your imagination if you can get a picture in your mind of what is this child doing?

Is he or she inside,

Outside?

Just ask to be shown an image of your inner child in this moment.

Good.

Now see if you can make eye contact with this inner child.

And if you can't,

It's okay.

We just want you to observe this child for a little while.

Now,

Those of you that did make eye contact with your inner child,

I'm going to ask you to see if you can speak to this child.

This is you at a certain age and ask this child what it is that this child needs.

What do you need in this moment?

And just get a sense.

You'll feel it right away.

This child either needs to be picked up.

It needs to be,

You know,

Sat by.

It needs to be,

You know,

Said something to whatever the emotion of the child that you're looking at is giving you.

You're going to now fulfill that request of the child.

You might hear something the child might say,

I want you to be with me.

I want you to love me.

I want you to hold me.

So in your imagination,

You're going to go over to this child,

This inner child,

And you're going to be with he or she.

Fulfilling the request that the child has asked for.

Good.

Now,

I want you to look at the child again and ask how often would you like me to do this with you?

And listen.

And then once you hear the answer,

You're going to tell the child that you promise to come and be with this child to come and be with him or her at the request of the child.

So she or he could have said every day,

Once a week,

Whatever it is,

You're going to tell the child that you promise to fulfill that request.

Beautiful.

So this is going to be a meditation that I recommend you do for the entire week.

You take time to drop into meditation,

Listen to it and connect with your inner child.

This is profound healing and this is part of the taking responsibility for yourself.
